That's fantastic! I bought a UV-5R the moment I found out the space station had a radio on it... That was a couple years ago now. Fast forward to present day and I just got my license 5 days ago so I will be able to talk back 😎 Last week I worked the live stream and audio for the Youth On The Air camp where they made a contact to the ISS. The ISS isn't in a close enough orbit here in Nova Scotia to have done it directly so we had a Zoom call to a fellow operator in South Africa and he relayed the youth and then asking their questions to the station and the radio back to us. It was very cool.
I'm using the Abree 48 inch Tacticool antenna www.amazon.com/ABBREE-Foldable-Tactical-Outdoor-Antenna/dp/B08HRMFBPR/ref=sims_dp_d_dex_ai_speed_loc_mtl_v4_d_sccl_2_13/132-3249126-4294935?pd_rd_w=HjW8K&content-id=amzn1.sym.dbded1ad-8495-4a8e-9906-011c3df3dc92&pf_rd_p=dbded1ad-8495-4a8e-9906-011c3df3dc92&pf_rd_r=28N225HN08MCFQF0CTSH&pd_rd_wg=SIYdF&pd_rd_r=3aa219b9-cab3-49ce-8e86-1e7c3e94ef72&pd_rd_i=B08HRMFBPR&psc=1 I used the ISS Detector app from Google play store to see real time path of the ISS. It makes three paths over where I am. Each one is different. You have a five minute window till it goes out of range. Where I am it was mostly at night. Frequency 437.800 which is for Americas I think.

That's awesome! Being able to actually contact them must be exciting. Great for the kids I'm sure.
Good video, what kind of antenna do you have

Need to get me a baofueng
If you're serious, $17 on Amazon and antenna was only $12. Good deal. I use mine more for a police scanner.
