    I love it when he said "you don't have to stand up during a daily Scrum meeting". I have seen Scrum Masters literally making every one stand up while having daily scrum meeting. How stupid to make the whole team stand up, He is correct that not every one can stand up.And why make everyone stand up unnecessary. I have seen so many jerks leading as Scrum Masters who have rudimentary knowledge of Software development. These "two days" training Scrum Masters think they are master of every one's fate while their role is simply to faciiltate the scrum meetings and ceremonies. These scrum masters cross their boundaries and unnecessarty poke their nose into the development areas and make things worse. The real techies abhor them but can not do any thing as due to their title of manager the Scrum masters leverage more power,

      Mirza Baig a Scrum Master isn’t the manager of the team. The team is self organizing with the Scrum Master being a part of it.

      In my understanding (very limited, if I might add since I am still learning),there is no manager , developers are quite independent, and the Scrum master duty is to make sure everyone is following scrum rules, and to privdevhelp and/or support if needed.

      That's because those scrum master are doing the "daily standup", and they do it because people pay more attention when they are standing, which means less time wasted in the meeting (so they say).
      I hear you though. This whole scrum process can be better executed by a marine who was an eagle scout that was part of the order of the arrow.
      "Improvise, adapt, and overcome", know people's strengths and weaknesss so that you know what task they're best at. Build rapport by getting to know the people on your team (go pay for some drinks and a game of pool, while finding out if they have any better ideas or see any problems with the project). This whole process seems like a watered down way of working with people. More talking at then, then with them. But what do I know, I'm still learning and comparing this stuff to my experiences.

    Here's the jist....
    A project manager provides the features and objectives of the product or service.
    A scrum master breaks down those objectives into mini-goals called sprints and communicates the objective of that sprint to the development team. When a sprint is completed, they provide feedback that the sprint's objective was completed or what else needs to happen.
    A development team completes the sprint asap and provides a finished product for feedback from the scrum master and product owner.
    Am I missing something? Everything else seemed like commonsense, like improvise, adapt, and overcome, and continuing a feedback loop of communication on the status of the objectives of the misson (product/service).

    • @ScrumOrg
      @ScrumOrg  2 года назад +2

      No you have not got it correct. I suggest you watch the video again and read the Scrum Guide. There is no project manager in Scrum. The Scrum Master doesn’t break down anything they support the team. Users and other stakeholders provide feedback, etc.

    • @dgaines8643
      @dgaines8643 2 года назад

      @@ScrumOrg your right there is no "project manager" there is a "project owner", and there are no objectives but "stories". But your telling me that the scrum master "supports the team" but isn't a manager and doesn't develope anything? Then what does a scum master do? That is how do they support the developing team because the answers to those questions is why I watched the video in the first place and all I got out of it were vague answers that sound like a cold reading from a psychic. Not to be a dick but I want ti understand what a scrum master does without vague answers like they "support the team" or they build rapport and motivate the team (which sounds like a cheerleader).

    Is the definition of Done something that is defined for each release? For each PBI or for each increment?

      Marcela Cervantes the definition of dome is defined for the product and often across products. It also may be enhanced product by product with the company minimums set for example.

    If a company can’t afford to hire a scrum master, but wants to operate in Scrum, can the product owner serve the role of a Scrum Manager?

    • @ScrumOrg
      @ScrumOrg  2 года назад +2

      They can take on those accountabilities as well although we recommend someone else as that can cause a conflict of interest and possibly the wrong behaviors vs supporting the whole team.

    Team I have a doubt if sprint itself is an event and every ceremony falls under it why consider that as a separate event

    • @ScrumOrg
      @ScrumOrg  3 года назад

      The Sprint is considered an event of 1 month or less. It is an informal event but still an event. The Sprint is the event container for all that is done during it.

    for the development team roles at 17:50 it is written they are "self-organising rarely means self-managing" what does that mean
    ??? like if you could provide some explanation on that.

      The team organizes how they work and manages how they work, but they are not responsible for traditional "HR" type management responsibilities like salaries, vacations, reviews, etc.
