Wonderful! Thank you KatherineofSky, it's because of videos like this I purchase a lot of new games I never would have heard of, and I absolutely love your talk throughs and explanations of how things work.
I felt so much better after you commented on the "learning curve". Ive just started and was struggling a bit, it left me scratching my head. I got the impression it was intended to be "easy" to play, glad to know that wasnt necessarily the case
I have this on my wishlist! I'm so happy to see you review/play it, it will definitely help me decide on whether to get itvwhen it's available. Thanks KOS 😁
New subscriber here! I love how you did your commentary and I'm already planning to buy this game after reading up on it on forums and I wanted to see what I'm going to be doing and I love watching your playthrough ❤
I've had this on my wishlist forever since it was on Steam, and I know it's coming out tomorrow, I was going to get it immediately. However, the level of micromanagement with the staff really puts me off. It's like Rescue HQ where you have to manually repair all gear and vehicles coming back from missions. Do the Staff manage themselves later with research?
Yes they do. When their perception is higher and they have the proper tools, they are a LOT more automated. This happens very quickly. You can kinda station a person in a particular spot and they'll fix everything in range.
Thanks for presenting this; it looks great. Looking forward to that steep learning curve. I put it directly on my whishlist. However: is the power demand measured in KW per sec? As an engineer, that makes me cringe.....
I'm not entirely sure where that was, the text is to tiny for me to see, but as someone with electrical engineering background, I can totally see a use for kWs as a unit of measurement. We already use kWh, and in a game, time can be compressed so smaller measurements of time could be necessary while still applying the larger measurement of power, thus kWs. That is if they're talking about total power used/generated, otherwise it makes no sense at all.
@@morphman86 The thing is, kW seconds is just the energy you get in a second, which is the definition of power in the first place. That makes it pretty cringy. kWh makes more sense in that you want the energy you get from a source of certain power in an hour, but kWs is a completely useless unit which only really serves aesthetic value.
@@huaen8880 A kWh is not the energy you get in an hour though. It's 3.6 megajoules. Or, since 1 joule per second is 1 watt, it's a constant rate of 1kW produced (or used) over the course of an hour. 1 kWs would therefore be 1 kilojoule, or a constant rate of 1 kW over 1 second. And yes, those two happens to be the same number, but since kWh is a fixed measurement of a fixed amount of energy, it does have a different purpose. Therefore, in a fictional world, where a second is as significant as an hour is to us in our world, it is perfectly reasonable to have the unit of kWs to differentiate it from the energy unit of W. To say something uses 1000W is not the same as saying it used 1kWs, if you understand what I mean.
@@morphman86 :D engineering discussion... i would agree that kWs is uncommon, but very valid unit. In the game however, it is shown as kW/s; so kW PER second, not TIMES second, which definitely makes no sense in this occasion. It would be a energy flow acceleration; not a consumption.
@@theloxxodrome Yeah, that sounds more like bogus to me... Like it was programmed by someone who don't understand what a watt is. Perhaps they meant kilojoules per second?
@@KatherineOfSkyI think the tracks depends on the ground level of the adjacent ground like if you put the ground level two levels down near the tracks and put the platform it will be 2 levels below the surface.

I also would place the billboard on the platform (over the other side), they would have to view them then!
That hits a bit too close to home... ;) But yes, they'll definitely _have_ to.

SO glad your playing this - been following it for ages!!
Hey, do you want a job as Transport Minister? Ours isn't really doing so well.

Love this types of games where you need to use soft skills and combined them with hard skills. Very interesting game. Thanks for sharing.
@23:20 If I couldn't take out trash, I'd despair too! XD
What interesting mechanics. lol
Hey :) I came here by Quill18's recommendation. (though he talked about your factorio content)
But I love every minute of my time spent here.
That's really cool! Welcome!
I love the term "commute em up" xD
I remember the people in this game wanting snack machines or food then the people wouldn't buy anything, they wanted it to be much cheaper. lol

So happy you're playing this game! Looks like one I'll definitely want to pick up.
intriguing! i hope the devs put in platform screen doors as a platform option

You can lower the elevation of your tracks and other spaces, like levels of your metro.
You can lower the ground level, but you can't change the level on which the tracks are placed.
