Yea, smørrebrød isn’t really considered breakfast in Denmark, most commonly a lunch item. I think the most normal Danish breakfast is a couple of painkillers and a cup of coffee

We do eat them in Sicily for breakfast and we have also granita (flavored shaved ice) which we eat with a brioche as well. It's very common in the summer to have them for breakfast, but some people also have them in other seasons as a snack, i usually have my first around March or April. It's Amazing.

Danish person here: thats not true i eat smørrebrød for breakfirst sometimes just not "højtbelagt" and i know other doo too, some of us even eat it as a snack made to chips :)

As a Dane I do not know any people in Denmark who eats that for breakfast :) But we do eat a lot of smørrebrød with fish, just not for breakfast with fish roe :)

"Smørrebrød" is for sure NOT a breakfast item in Denmark.
It is in 99% of cases eaten for lunch - Danish breakfast is something along the lines of Cornflakes with milk/yoghurt or some pieces of bread with jam and cheese.

@@SpicePrincess1890 it really depends tbh....like I prefer oatmeal with milk and then either a teaspoon of sugar or raisins on top. sometimes I make it into a porridge with cinnamon sugar instead - or if fancy vanilla powder to make it taste like one of our beloved Christmas desserts "risalamande"

I'm Colombian and it's so weird to see them eat arepa con huevo. It's truly great though it is usually not a runny egg, it actually should have an airy but set consistency.

I am Danish and we would NEVER eat that for breakfast. Smørrebrød is very much a lunch item and we would never ever have fish for breakfast. The closest thing to this we would have would be ryebread with cheese and jam. Also the caviar is a bit over the top for most Danes, I guess you might find something like this at a slightly fancy old school hotel. But on their lunch menu
