Shadowserg these arent the right ones right? Or maybe you forgot a couple? I dont think the colossus's name is Jay Cube, and 5:51 is barely halfway through the same battle. Theres bosses after that point in the video too, so its not the final one...
Fun fact about this game: If you play with two players, there is a part after the final boss where the two players fight each other, and then you get a different ending where the winner takes over the world. So, neat bit of trivia I guess.
Not only that, If neither of the submarines is able to destroy the other submarine in time, both lose control and fall to their death. And If playing on single player you use continue, the ending make the submarine driver pass through the stages while the people are comemorating the D.A.S. destruction, being by my guess, the best ending of the game. But it's quite trivial and had the some boss style. In the PS version, you face Argoc (stage 1 boss) head on like you do with Tetsuyuki, stage 2 boss attacks from above where as stage 3 attacks from below. Stage 4 boss has the same double bosses, and so on with other stage bosses

This game and Gunforce II are gorgeous, even today, but they are also both ridiculously hard. Interestingly, they both let you keep your score after continuing, which is rare for the majority of arcade games.
OMG! I remember playing this with my friend on his PS2 back in the day. We were playing the japanese version of this and I have no Idea about it's english title. Brings back good ol' memories.
One of the most original shmups, not perfect (the actions feels very cramped at times, which contributes to its difficulty) but still a quality game, one of the last great titles from the old incarnation of Irem. Incredible graphics for the time that have aged very well, a masterpiece of pixel art, the hand of the people who would later make Metal Slug is visible. Starts with technological enemies, gets crazier - a three-headed sea dragon? An Atlantean colossus, god the face! And it spits eyeballs O__o - and ends with one *very* drawn-out final boss battle. I just don't like the music. It gives a sense of urgency but quickly becomes annoying, I almost muted the video. Sounds effects lack punch but maybe some voluntary choice to make them muffled because, underwater.
Ah, this game _is_ created by Irem. I thought the spritework, animations and boss designs looked quite Metal Slug. Thank you for informing us, Shadowserg.
I had this game on PSX, it was very good but I was disappointed when I beat it and found out that it was very short, I wish it had more stages and bosses.
the name of the boss is actually Solemn, Shadowserg got the boss order confused. and yes he is, within lore, a horrifying creature due to both the design, the gameplay, and the lore implications
yesterday i playing this game with friend.. we are promise "just 10 continue!" this game so unique and challenging.. no one can stand just 10 continue.. today you play it.. i must learn from master.. and maybe tomorrow i can beat it with my friend. :D

Yes , and the player who can defeat his friend ( player 2 ) he can betray and take over the world.
In the final.
No way... I played with my brother and we never got past the final boss... that would've been a cool find.
God I love the art style of Metal Slug
Wrong game section
But I do like Metal Slug
Yeah
Well developed by same developer, this game first then Metal Slug

7:10 this boss is actually creepy, even though I'm 29, he's just... yikes! Disturbing face T_T
I think I had nightmares with it when I was a child :u
One of memorable boss fights on ps1.
Even tho I'm 10 I'm finding no disturbance
you find the Statue of Liberty Titan disturbing?
@@elvondrago96 The part especially when his face got ripped off and.... just bleegh x_x
I swear, the boss theme in this game is one of the most catchy pieces of music I've heard.

Did you play this on PS1?

Some do cheekily award you exactly ONE point on using a continue, so this serves as a serviceable proof of a 1CC, a 000 ending score.
I know this is a boss fight video, but if you guys have the chance, go check a playthrough of this game. A genuine gem with amazing soundtrack.

Man i used to play this game on Sega Saturno so much . What an awsome game. Pure nostalgia
Such a good underrated gem
I'm still having a hard time getting used to the fact that the player's submarine is secretly an R-Craft.
Yo jugue este juego pensando que había comprado un juego pirata de Metal Slug 3 ;-;
Lel, en la portada del juego me salia que era un Metal Slug xD
Me paso similar, pero la verdad me encantó xdd
sin duda una clasica troleada
Me pasó lo mismo pero no me arrepiento de que haya pasado ese error 👌🏻

Ripoff. But great! 😏
I always like to pretend Marco and Tarma pilot each sub
@@mnicolas9742brilliant idea
Many on the Metal Slug creators worked on this game first
the giant statue boss (fifth boss) is named Sougon, the third boss is Manriki and the fourth boss is J3
parece que se basaron en el segundo jefe para hacer al Kraken del metal slug 7/XX
Oh my god I remember playing this once with my dad at a arcade once! Now I know what it's called.
It goes from enslaved Flesh golem God as a penultimate boss to rogue hadron collider for a final boss... Odd choice.
all those coins I spent never forget
This game is hard. Played this alot in my ps1 years ago.
That Dragon Boss are really hard to avoid.
I like to think this is the backstory of the sub you ride in the final mission of metal slug 1
lol I just notice they recycle Manriki's model for the final boss from Metal Slug 7
Did you know? Kracken, the final boss of metal slug 7 the design is inspired by the first boss of in the hunt
From what I heard, it was the 4th boss (the Hydra thing)
One of the hardest games I've ever played.

Explain to me, why is the 4th boss's heads are upside down? No wonder he sucks at shooting flames
Weird design
Maybe is due to the water pressure
That’s a music that would play on the News.
The second boss reminds me of the Kraken boss from Metal Slut 7. Same studio that worked on both games?
Yes they run out of ideas and used this old design it is because of snk strogling financially
F***ing H I love this game, cool man
the final boss timeline is the same as the fifth boss
i guess these were the same people who later would create the metal slug series.
You're correct. Former Irem staff left & formed their own production team, Nazca.
spiritual metal slug , same developers ^^
у меня прям настальгия уже от завтавки

I can’t believe that this game didn’t use the GEMS sound driver, the music here is that spot on to it.
Metal Slug 0?
ikagura False metal slug 3.
Why is the 4th boss is in upside down position?
A Dross no le gustó esto, lmao

I think you're wrong. Irem is the creator of R-Type. You should try R-type, Mr. Hardcore gamer. :)
The Metal Slug developers were working for Irem at that time, and worked in that game.
What about Granzella?
Excellent game :)
Reminds me of Sqoon game on NES.
How to dowload this game?
