Sheikh Khalid, first off im a big fan. I have been following you since last 5 years. I was born & grew up in Dubai. Left UAE when i was 20 years old for my education. Went back to Dubai after 23 years in Oct 2024. I can guarantee you that you are completely absolutely 100% right that LAFFAh shawarma was nostalgic and taste exactly like the shawarma that was over 23 years back and more. It was the same taste as the shawarma i used to have over 35years back by AlGhurair centre. I still remember it so clearly. Those were the days🙏🏻🤲🏻 God bless everyone!

I went to Abu Dhabi and had Shish Shawarma all the time. I went back to the U.S. and found that there were no shawarma places near me. A few new ones opened up, but none of them were right. Shawarma is honestly the best

When it comes to Belad Al Sham, I love their meat shawarma best. Halla Shawarma also has a decent meat shawarma. Both close by in Qusais in front of Towar Park is convenient. Can see that Khalid literally just walked from one to the other.
You should try Barbar in hessa street that is where there is home to many delicious Lebanese restaurants.Barbar is originated in Lebanon it is super authentic and I hope you see this message no acknowledge it.As a Lebanese Muslim myself I would rank this #1

I grew up in Abu Dhabi. My most fond memory is picking up some amazing chicken shawarma from the 'Al-Ibrahimi Restaurant' which is a Pakisthani restaurant in Madina Zayed, Abu Dhabi. The Shawarma is made with Lebanese flavor. This was 24 years back, I was some 16 and now I'm 40. Last year I got a chance to visit Dubai and tried the shawarma plate from the restaurant, 'Cafe Beirut'. Google shows it's permanently closed. I would rather go for the proper Shawarma rather than the plate Shawarma. I did go to Abu Dhabi but didn't get time to try my fav shawarma from Abu Dhabi. It's true, it's the Nostalgia that keep pulling us back to U.A.E.

I left dubai in 2013, when i was like 12 to years old. And now am back in dubai for job hunt. But the thing is i have been searching for the shawarma i used to have as a kid. Just as same as you were saying, i am searching for that old classic style shawarma without like any instagrammable stuffs. I havent landed a job yet, its almost been 2 months and also i havent had that taste of shawarma as my childhood. Still searching for both JOB AND THE SHAWARMA.
