La historia más conocida sobre la vida de Rebeca Méndez Jiménez tiene como escenario principal el mar y el muelle de San Blas. Cuenta la leyenda que el hombre al que Rebeca amaba y con el que se casaría se hizo a la mar con la promesa de volver. Rebeca esperó todos los días de su vida junto al mar donde él partía... pero el amor de su vida nunca regresó.

The best-known story about the life of Rebeca Méndez Jiménez has as its main setting the sea and the San Blas pier. Legend has it that the man Rebeca loved and would marry sailed into the sea with the promise of returning. Rebeca waited everyday of her life by the sea where he departed... but the love of her life never returned.
