  • The Mercedes-Benz Stadium is unlike any other stadium in the world! This video goes through in detail all the different levels, the halo board and retractable roof.
This video has been dubbed in over 20 languages, you can change the audio track language in the Settings menu (click the gear icon in the lower right hand corner of the video).

The stadium is home of the Atlanta Falcons NFL football team and the the chosen venue for the 2019 Super Bowl LIII (53). It opened in August of 2017. It has a retractable roof with 8 petals each weighing 500 tons each. It can open or close in only 8 minutes so that bad weather doesn't have to ruin the game. The stadium has a 360 degree halo board so it can be clearly seen from any seat in the stadium. There's also private suites, clubs, and plenty of food choices at decent prices.

I'm subscribing now--I'm hooked.
I never knew those roof pedals were completely reliant on counter levering and not having their mating edges sliding on the raceways of the adjacent petals. Kind of makes me wonder how the innermost roof beams underneath must not only support the weight of the metal roof but also the forces generated by the inner main bearing rail. So instead of holding up 500 tons on the main rail it most likely has to withstand over 2000 tons on each rail. That is one super strong roof. This is amazing structural engineering. Can you do an animation on the Missouri's 16" gun turret operations? These were very complex machines when they were operating. Your animation is amazing. Thank you for preparing them for us. I think a good idea would be to do stadiums when they were first built and how they evolved over time and the reasons for it the halo board is one of the most impressive things when you're in there. the whole stadium is a much better experience in person than on television. Would be really cool to see an animation about Rotor excavators. Or other heavy machinery. being an Atlantan, all I have to say is that seeing the stadium alone is an experience. when inside, it's indescribable. anyone who gets the chance should see the stadium, it's worth it. Great animation. Looking forward to more work in the future! I love these animations! Wish you could do more! I worked with a transportation and logistics company that helped haul some of the more massive pieces of the stadium. I believe we even hauled the Falcon statue out front. 🤔 I helped document some of the truck movements through the city. It was a cool project but we weren't allowed to document anything inside the building during construction. 🤐😅

I do not know what I like more, the stadium or the animation. I am not sure if the same quality of animation was present at the first presentation of the layout. Great job Jared "If even one petal breaks, then the whole roof doesn't function." How fitting for Mercedes. Pittsburgh's old Civic Arena was by far a superior example of engineering the whole dome which at the time was the largest dome in the world that could open in 2 minutes the whole arena outside was made in 1961and is this day the greatest stadium ever built This is amazing! So cool doing 3D animations. Imagine how long it took to make all of this. Incredible. This guy definitely needs some appreciation.!. Thank you for the knowledge provided by your animation...keep up the good work!!! I love to watch how things are made or operated. Very well done, thank YOU! "The Mercedes-Benz stadium took three years to build": It probably took him twice as long to research, animate, and edit this one video. Amazing work btw. Awesome video. I've never really understood what's so attractive about watching the game at pitch level, you can't really see all that well. I like to get a mid-tier section myself, where you can still see and hear the players quite clearly, but you get sort of a vantage point perspective of what's going on. Then again, stadiums are way smaller than that where I live so maybe the mid-tier section I'm referring to would be one of the lower levels in that sort of ground. Fabulous descriptions and explanations. Very impressive, Jared. Just as impressive as the stadium itself. I feel well-educated now.

Football is not an everyman’s game like futbol is. Football is more about coaching than the players. Coaches call every play, players cannot use their creativity. They do what the coaches say on every play. If you have good coaches, you can beat teams with better talent. American football is simply all about the coaches. I have no problem with coaches preparing them in practice but I wish they weren’t so hands on in game situations.
Futbol is completely different. It’s an everyman’s game. Anyone can throw a ball on the pitch and you choose sides and you start playing. No coaching needed. Rugby the same way. But you can’t play American football In a local park the same way the pros play it. And thank goodness. If football was played more like rec play it would be more interesting to me.
