Michelle, finding a RUclipsr who hasn't given up on working because they want RUclips to be their only job is so refreshing. I love your channel because it shows the reality of life working a full-time job! As someone whose goal is to live and work in a big city, I can't get enough of your videos! Thank you for being so awesome and real with us. I just found your channel, so I'm on a mission to binge as many of your videos as I can!
Jodie Cooper I agree! So many of the post-grad channels I’ve watched for inspiration are just dropping like flies :( I think it’s the Christian difference! God gives us the strength and peace to navigate times like these 💜
Amanda Taylor then you might be using ones with ingredients your skin doesn't like. definitely important to experiment and find a good moisturizer - for acne and for anti-aging.
Since you’re breaking out specifically on your cheeks I would try these few things: don’t lean your face on your hands (dirt and oil from your hands gets on your face), try to have your hair not touch your face as much as possible (products and oils from your hair clog your pores), wipe/disinfect your phone regularly so the dirt from that doesn’t get on your face if you make calls a lot, wash your pillow case every week with a sensitive detergent so the oil/product residue/leftover dirt built up on your pillow gets cleaned and so the detergent isn’t upsetting your skin (if you don’t do laundry every week you could have 2 pillow cases you rotate between). Hope this helps ❤️
I’ve always struggled with my skin (even took accutane in the past) and I definitely recommend using a moisturiser! My skin gets worse whenever it doesn’t receive enough hydration. In fact, when you’re skin is not hydrated it produces more oil to try and balance things out, which can make things even worse. I’d recommend looking into oils/serums and also focus on really cleaning your face (look into Foreo, I cannot live without that machine, completely changed my skin). Also, drunk elephant polypeptide cream does wonders for my skin in the winter :)
You are such a good person it really shows in your videos. You are very respectful and grateful about your life it makes me feel good to watch your videos
I love your videos since I work a 9 to 5 job it’s so relatable! You are so good at time management and meal prep! I get inspired from it and am entertained! So glad I found your channel!! So many other post grad RUclipsrs act like it’s impossible to do things like work full time and then go workout etc since they are so used to so much free time! Free time is a luxury after all! Keep up the work week in my life videos coming!! Have a great week!!
I'm an architecture student in INDIA. The schedule is so hectic but watching your vlogs and seeing how much u work and still stay happy motivates me a lot. I feel really happy watching your videos.
I'd love to see what you eat in a week! I'm already planning on making your apple crisp recipe this weekend, I'm sure a whole week full of meal ideas would be inspirational xx
no one talks about it but grease lightning from lush works so well at clearing up and healing your skin. when you’re breaking out just rub in a layer on your face at night (i don’t use moisturizer or serums with it, i just put it on after i cleanse) and then do your regular morning routine when you wake up.
Licensed cosmetologist here. Love your vlogs! Your productive, positive lifestyle vlogs are so inspiring! Just some quick tips for your skin: 1. It takes your skin up to 80 days to adjust to a new product (which could cause breakouts, but don’t stop using the product unless it last longer than 80 days) 2. Don’t touch your face! Even freshly washed hands could be transferring bacteria to your face. 3. Always tone (ph balances after cleansing) and moisturize! I hope to continue to see more wonderful videos! :)
Hey Michelle, you should stick with a moisturizer or something like cetaphil body+face lotion. With the colder weather coming along you’ll definitely wanna hydrate your skin. Downsizing your skincare routine will help, stick to products that you know work best for you and simplify your routine to using a makeup remover then a cleanser then moisturizer. If I was out all day and my skin was exposed I’d double cleanse and use a toner. Also acne can be caused my oily hair/ dirty hair so tie up your hair if you haven’t washed it when you’re about to sleep. Don’t stress about your skin the more you’ll break out, it’ll go away before you know it just be patient :)
Hey Michelle! :) It is actually super important for your skin to moisturise it daily (preferably after every time you wash it). The drier the skin the more pimples! Initially, if you dry out the skin, pimples will go away but in the long run they will come back full force and stay. So try to use a good moisturiser, specific for sensitive/acne prone skin (La Roche Posay - especially they're effaclar H moisturiser - or Avene are absolutely amazing skincare brands). A moisturised skin will also scar less. The first week or two might seem that the pimples don't go away or even that you get a few new ones, but trust me in the long run they will start fading and almost never come back (unless maybe hormonal pimples once a month). I've heard from multiple dermatologists your skin needs three things: a gentle cleanser, a good moisturiser (worth the investment as well), and sunscreen (also preferably specific for face skin). All the rest is nice and can help but those three are key.
Hello Michelle i had the same problem with my skin when i started uni and also working as well and my dermatologist said i should observe myself how much i touch my skin and i swear i was constantly touching my face with my hands while i was working at my desk. I also see you doing the same, maybe you should try stopping that too like me it really helped my skin :)) love ur videos xx
more important than having a silk pillowcase is having a clean one every night- that can especially help with cheek breakouts (also, try to find a lightweight, noncomedogenic moisturizer) 💛
Michelle- try The Ordinary products! I went through the exact same with my skin when I went home after college and I absolutely swear by them, There are no additives or perfumes, they're super affordable and they just contain the true product! The ones that are great for problem skin are Niacinamide, then Salicylic acid for breakouts then the 100% Squalene for moisture ... they have them on asos in europe hopefully in US too so you can try them!
please film a work outfits in the week!!! i absolutely love seeing your work outfits bc they’re not too businessy so they’re good outfit inspo for me if that makes sense haha
*Michelle! I admire your love for God, hard working ethic, fashion sense, outlook on life, and just the overall way you handle your finances and lifestyle! And could you please make more videos on money? A lot of youtubers feel very weird talking about money, but it's in all of our lives so .....your last video helped so much about it, the one you filmed at home with your dad I loved it!!* 1. videos on budgeting/money. 2. choosing your major/school tips. 3. how you budget your weekly/monthly life in NYC. 4. week in your life of workouts!
8:21-8:24 was so gorgeous!! and we love a clog queen!! /i love wearing clogs, they're so comfortable they actually feel like I'm treating my feet rIGhT 🙌
I just adore you and your heart. your videos have made me so happy for the past 5 years and I cannot wait to watch you grow more and more for the next 5! keep going girl, you're amazing!
have you seen a dermatologist? i had pretty bad, continuous breakouts for years until i saw a derm and they told me i had perioral dermatitis--they gave me a topical antibiotic and my face completely cleared up!! definitely go see a dermatologist as they will be able to tell you what's going on and you won't just have to try stuff over and over again :)
I love these videos, like "a week in my life" / "highlights of the week". Also would love to see commuting tips, work-life balance, date ideas, and any kind of routine videos!!! :)
A tip! Hydrate! You neeeeeed moisturizer. I made that mistake and had horrible acne and then invested in a clean moisturizer meant for my skin and now even w oily skin I hydrate all the time and my skin is so much begger
Omg my skin was so bad and I stopped using everything skincare wise and just used coconut oil to remove my makeup and to moisturize in the morning and my skin is SO CLEAR I think it’s all the chemicals that was messing with my sensitive skin! Try it out. Simple and natural
I remember when I moved apartments my skins broke out too! It could definitely be the air quality of the apartment. I bought a dehumidifier to help out (because I was living in a prewar building with very little fresh air flow) and I definitely saw a difference, also helped with some other non related sinus issues. Hope this helps!
Love these videos Michelle! I just wanted to mention that I got really bad acne on my cheeks when I switched my foundation to the Loreal True Match one. I didn't realize that the foundation was what was causing it in the beginning so I just kept using it to cover up all of the acne. But when I stopped using it the acne disappeared. I just wanted to say that and that I know that cystic acne can really make you feel a bit down about yourself, but it always gets better though! Keep being the down to earth and inspiring you! :)
You may want to look more into accutane. I believe you’ve said that’s something you’re not interested in, but it saved my life. I had skin just like yours, could never get it completely cleared. I stayed on a very low dose for six months, had minor side effects and I haven’t had a breakout in three years. Something to consider :)
Omg your "bad" hair days look like my good hair days, haha. I'd love to see 1. Describing what a typical day at your job looks like - super curious to what types of responsibilities you have in the influencer marketing field 2. Everyday makeup routine

I did go on accutane and haven’t had issues since, but I think keeping your skin care routine simple to a few products may help your skin a lot... This might sound weird, but ever since I cut out eggs and peanut butter in my diet, my skin hardly ever breaks out now. Of course if I want to eat eggs or peanut butter, I'll have it, but for the most part I rarely eat those things and my skin looks so good!

Michelle- not using a moisturizer could make your skin worse!! It needs hydration!
I thought the same thing!!
Not true, moisturizer makes my skin break iut soooo bad
I think it just depends on the person. Michelle, find out your skin type and do what you think is best!
I agree! but also depends on what moisturizer, i tried using one with SPF and it broke me out!
