  • In today's episode I spoke to my great friend and mastering engineer William Bowden. Willy has mastered thousands of records for the likes of Gotye, The Living End, Eskimo Joe, The Hard-Ons, Katie Noonan, Hermitude and many more. He's mastered basically everything I've ever produced because I love his approach to mastering and to music in general.
Willy and I spoke about setting up a home studio, getting presented his Grammy award by none other than Prince, how mastering has changed with technology, and he gave me a great glimpse into his creative mastering processes.
Enjoy my chat with the always interesting Willy Bowden.

    Dear Michael,
Thanks for another great podcast.Mr B is another modest and outstanding chap. Most of the technical detail just goes right over my head but it is still weirdly fascinating. It's always great to hear people talking with Passion about what they do. have been trying to start recording a cover of XTC's 'Love on a Farm Boys Wages.Talk about biting off more than you can chew! It should only take me another year or so if I don't fall off the perch first.Keep it up mate,
Best wishes again from the UK,
    Rhodri.

@@MichaelMcGlynnProductions Thanks Michael. It's only going to be some noodling on Garage Band but if I'm ever not too embarrassed by the results I would appreciate that.
