    BRITISH PATHÉ'S STORY
Before television, people came to movie theatres to watch the news. British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.

The commentary on this footage is frequently super ignorant and prejudiced, but I feel that the footage itself is still of great historical importance.

Yeah, the commentary is condescending and ignorant.

Patronising commentary about what they have left after having all their land stolen and destroyed while most of their people were murdered for the land. I love the comment on scalping, a process taught to the American Indians by the Europeans.

Firstly, Thank you so very much for sharing these vintage films. I have now watch ed a half dozen and they are all real gems. I have to say that watching this at such a momentous time as our indiginous brothers and sisters, as well as their many non-native allies on the ground fight to preserve the water, land and some sort of respect for the mother was rather disturbing. Lastly, on a lighter note It was hard to pick a favorite part but I got to say I guess it would have to be the Chicken dance that usually followed ta scalping....hopefully on of the big Oil company CEOS!

Majority of the Indians died from diseases. The Indians warred against other tribes, enslaved and some were cannibals. Time for the Indians to get off the reservations.
