It’s 2011. You wake up. It’s a Saturday. You turn your screen back on and there it is, the Skyrim pause menu, just as you left it the night before. You take a moment to remember what you were doing, and then you continue your adventure. Life is good.
Really I wish I was alive in Skyrim's reality, not this one. It would be so good. I really wish Tamriel was real. But, what if, in one of the many multiverses, Skyrim IS real and WE are in it...? That's a possibility, but as of now I really wish I was living in Skyrim; Whiterun, Winterhold, any of them...
Halfway through the video you should’ve put “There you are! I’ve been looking for you. Got a letter I’m supposed to deliver... looks like that’s it... got to go!”
This game literally saved me from giving up on life and committing suicide a few years ago. I had no interest or love for my physical reality but escaping into the world of tamriel for 10 hours a day kept me inside and safe from doing something stupid. Hoarding and decorating my Lakeview manor gave me something to be proud of, even though I had nothing going for me outside of the monitor. After getting the help I needed a few years later I had another bash at Skyrim, this time heavily modded for an incredibly immersive experience. It just gets better with every quest I revisit and camping spot I discover. Skyrim was a keystone in my recovery and while I haven't played it for a month now as I'm working through AC:Valhalla, I regularly meditate and fall asleep to this emotional, spiritually invigorating music. Thank you Skyrim and the community, I love you all.
I’m glad to share in Skyrim’s importance in our lives. It’s a game that no matter how it ages, I will love it always and look at it with incredibly fond memories. Thank you Jeremy soule for the music and Bethesda (though they’re on thin ice) for this masterpiece.
Daniel, I'm glad you stayed with us in this world. I don't know you personally, but I know you have a lot to offer and that we need you here. Many blessings and I hope your life is doing much better now.
Skyrim is like Narnia, but instead of stepping through the wardrobe, we stepped through our computer screen. It felt real. It still feels real. I listen to the music and I can still feel the icy wind of High Hrothgar on my face and smell the smoke of a warm hearth in Whiterun. I feel like I’ve gone home. Isn’t it mad and beautiful that a game could have that kind of magic? I love it so much. 💙💙
My room was an entire unfinished basement. Concrete floor covered only with a rug, drafty windows... Playing skyrim on pS3 in the winter, I really felt I was there.. wind, cold... Even in the summer that basement kept a little too cold. This music plays in my head often when I take a walk through the snowfall in the local park. The composer is gifted immensely.
(Continuation of what you said there) As I stop in moments to just be in amazement of the beauty of Skyrim, I find myself to be in a place where I shouldnt be or so the bandit says. After I shouted him and his friends to pieces I loot their bodies and take all the gold and I run again into the beauty of Skyrim. The day slowly shifts into nightfall and I climb unto the peek of a small mountain. The night sky covers the land and as I stand on the peek of this mountain, I begin to see the breathtaking two moons of the land accompanied with the stars and auroras that make it even more elegant. Then I began to question my purpose as the dragonborn "People only know me because of my gift, If I didnt have such a gift would people still think Im special?" "Im the Dragonborn and yet I feel the weight of the world is on my shoulders, The fate of all life rests upon me and if I fail? I will have doomed all of the world to the mouth of the World Eater, Alduin" these thoughts encompass around my head. I wait for hours, just waiting, waiting for something. Then I see the sunrise, then I see hope in myself. As the sun rises,t it breaks away the night. I can feel the wind rushing through my body and my iron armor. "I am the one and last Dragonborn, I will save this land and stop the End of the world, I will have the most dangerous quest anyone will ever take and failures not an option, I will vanquish this evil and slay Alduin...because there will be no one else who will do it but me" I say those words of encouragement and went down. But before I step down from the mountain, I look back and stared a bit more to the sunrise and then I head off with a smile.
@@nnighty2845 (continuation of what you said there) After I stare at the sunrise I see a fucking flying horse and I think between myself "what the frick? Why hasn't bethesda patched this fucking bugs after 8 years that this game has been released?"
@@gliocchiali6075 (continuation of what you said there) I went into the strange website of nexusmods.com, I make an account for myself(it wont let me download any mods unless I make an account) and I see every mod that is on the trending list, And I see the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. I quickly downloaded the mod and used manual download, I made sure to educate myself on the first premise of modding, so that I wont fuck up and destroy my game. I then went into the games data files and put the patch files in there. I exited and went into the launcher, I then proceeded to enable the Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp and bsa, then I hopped into the game............ *_MY SAVE FILE IS CORRUPTED_* ....... Words cant even express my internal rage screaming....
Oh god, secunda. Gonna make me cry of nostalgia, I just think of me running around Skyrim at night just exploring and traveling. If only I could re play a game without knowing what happens next. Ah skyrim, forever my secret love.
Secunda always relaxes me for some reason. I love how the composer for Skyrim's music arranged every track. Can't say I hate any song from Skyrim at all.
Shyan Marie So sad that it seems like Jeremy Soule isn’t involved in the development of TES VI, despite wanting to be. And before someone comments saying that I’m just jumping on the Bethesda hate bandwagon, he’s typically made music very early on in development helping “inspire” the team, which is probably why the music always felt so interwoven with the modern TES games.
My son and I were estranged for a few years after the divorce from his mother. When we re-connected, we told each other about a great game we'd discovered... Skyrim. Our love of the game helped us re-build our relationship, not just as father and son, or Dadda and Mip, but as friends. He has passed since, but I fancy I can feel him tapping my shoulders every now and then to warn me of an enemy I'm not aware of. Playing helps me endure my grief and depression. I'm home.
Didn't you ever just release your anger while playing this game? Like save then kill everyone you could then when your was feeling better load back? No? Just me???
@@ShivasFayth We all have been there haha; I was doing that back in 5th grade and now i'm graduating high school. Still play skyrim every so often to this day.
@Wei Zhao I'll say this from experience. I can kinda see what you're saying, but here's the point that I made in the comment before: the choice of evil or good is yours and yours alone. When someone is born, they are not born evil, but entirely innocent. A newborn does not know what good or evil even means and without that knowledge, why would that determine them as evil? Evil, by definition, is the "deliberate" action that is contrary to favorable morals. Now let's say that someone is born into a home that is "evil"... This person only would know the evil in the home without having a knowledge of what is good, so heavy punishment on them would be... incorrect. It's the same the other way around: if a person only knows good and has never encountered it, how would they know what opposition looks like? The other half of it is that in this world, everyone has the agency to choose between the moral and the not. I'm also not saying that someone should directly seek "suffering" or opposition because that's ridiculous, and there's enough to go around for everyone already. You, as everyone else, have three choices when you meet opposition: face it and win, face it and fail, or become the opposition. One would make you stronger, one would teach you a hard lesson, and one would lead you down a path that is riddled with pitfalls. Think of it like this and I'll be done: You are a campfire, a small one that is just getting started. Let's suppose the opposition is a bunch of logs and other fuel. There is a real risk for this small flame to be smothered and put out by the logs and wood. However, if you, the flame, had a choice, what would you do? Would you get extinguished, or eat at the surplus of wood for a while, risking the fuel that you're already using? If you take the latter option, you can burn through the wood and become a flame that is both brighter and hotter than it ever was before. THAT is the result of triumphing in challenges. THAT shows the strength you possess and therefore, you shine brighter thanks to the lessons the challenges provided.
Why you gotta make me cry like that. I freaking love skyrim. Jzargo forever. I remember the first time he died I was like a level 56 (before I discovered modding, all hard earned) my last save was level 33 and I totally went back to just have Jzargo back and I also learned a hard lesson that day to save every chance you get 😂 I hurt my own heart twice.
@@epictwinkaho1ic828 I like that Skyrim lets you save just about anywhere so you DON’T have to repeat a bunch of grinding to retry the boss in a cave. Yeah, I’m a save-spammer, with a rolling list of 6 or 7 save files. (Some games) “Can’t save while enemies are near” - what?!? But that’s WHY I need to save, NOW.

I'm not a gamer - never have been. However as a devoted lover of music my entire life (I'm 62); Jeremy Soule's SKYRIM has to be one of the most magnificent ethereal compilations ever composed.
Try listening to playboi carti if you like this type of music. "New tank" and "on that time" are good examples of music like this! Let me know what you think of his music!
I just want you to know how much this has saved my life. My son is turning 1 in a few days. I’ve used this video so many times to help get him back to sleep, and it works like a charm! Thank you so much, it makes me so happy I get to listen to Skyrim music and lull my baby back to sleep with it too. You have no idea what this did for my sanity! Lol. ♡
Stuff like this is indeed great for sleeping children. Contrary to popular belief, total silence actually causes distress in babies and small children. That's why they start screaming when they wake up to dead silence. Ambiance like this can significantly help reduce this instinctive distress.
Navy Rosie upon i dreamed that i was in Skyrim and i was walking by the streets of whiterun and traveling throught Skyrim and listening these soundtracks 😍😍😍😍
Skyrim’s soundtrack is one of the few video game OSTs I get really emotional from. When I was a younger kid I would watch my brother play on his Xbox 360 all the time and I did always hear the music, I never exactly paid deep attention to it, but I loved the game. I always wanted to play but my siblings never let me play their video games. Quite a while back, my sister got a PS4, and for the first time, I was able to actually play the game. I hadn’t seen anything from it for a while at the time so it was nostalgic, even if I wasn’t the one playing back then. I was actually so happy, it’s one of my favorite games to this day. When I heard the music for my first time playing the feeling of familiarity made me really emotional, as I never exactly noticed that I had memorized and remembered all the songs, I was wondering why I was able to hum to the songs so well. I heard them constantly that they were kind of just engraved in my brain, unnoticed, waiting to just be pulled out of the deep crevices of my mind. These types of videos bring out a very different side of me. I feel so at peace and focused, which is extremely hard for me. I get distracted very easily and feel the need to be moving around constantly, and very unmotivated. It effects my productivity a lot and these help greatly. It also really helps me relax, which helps since I’m a bit stressed at the moment as the end of my freshman year of high school is coming up, but thanks so much for these videos. - ❤️ Liana
I have the exact same experience except my brother never let me play his oblivion and then just a little bit of Skyrim. I got my first Xbox 360 and got Skyrim and was finally able to play. It brought me to a place I feel was so real. I never felt so good. This music brings back those good times with family where you don’t need to worry about school or work or love with heartbreak...I miss it
Alright, that’s it, I’m going to waste 10 hours of my life. I’m gonna play Skyrim the whole day, maybe with no human socializing at all, but it’s Saturday. I’m gonna download all my graphic mods, disable all cheat mods, and play Skyrim all day.
I just finished Fallout 4. AMAZING GAME. My son told me to play Skyrim. I am only level 26 and just starting but I find I like walking through the landscape as opposed to fast travel. The journey is better than the destination. I have a man pit with a huge TV and surround sound. Nothing like a dark room, perfectly clear graphics and this music. What a perfect game and I so look forward to the months/years ahead of playing this masterpiece.
Agreed. Skyrim on a big screen is great. You can really find yourself sucked into the world. My wife would laugh because I'd sometimes lean my body, trying to see around a corner or a rock outcropping. Or I would give a startled "Aaah!" if something gave me a jump scare. In those moments, you're there. If you thought Fallout 4 was amazing, try New Vegas. It isn't as visually appealing, but the storytelling is far & away superior to Fallout 3 or 4.
being able to feel love in association with music or even games is a good thing, that means you can appreciate beauty and feel gratitude. your heart chakra is opening up either when you cherish beauty in art or think of a beloved person - in essence its the same feeling
Jeremy Soule captured the very harmonic essence of perfection composing the music he made for Skyrim. It's the perfect fit, and IMHO it made Skyrim that much better.
Hope you've experienced significantly less anxiety since this comment. Got diagnosed with a tumor in one of my testes and they will have to remove the whole teste. This is really helping me keep calm.
@@kevocall97 thanks man, it's scary, but I'm glad it's not brain cancer or anything. My heart aches for people who suffer from the more dangerous forms of cancer. 24 and I already have cancer.
One of the first things my now husband and I did when we met (during college summer) was take turns playing through Skyrim - one day each, alternating. We have been listening to this channel, this video in particular for years. Now, we have a 2yr old who falls asleep to this every night with us. You have no idea the impact you've had on my life, my husbands life, and now our sons life. Thank you.
Man I have tears in my eyes. Time goes so fast I can not believe that I can already call this my childhood. I’ve played this for 8 years, having many different characters. Eventually it’s time to stop but you’ll quickly miss it again. And when you get back you sadly get bored quickly because you already know everything that is going to happen. Skyrim wasn’t just some game. It felt like a second life to me.
Eat some acid or get really stoned and play, preferably the former. It will reignite your "child-like" wonder in so many ways. You can apply this formula to many things, in moderation. Psychedelics combined with something you love can create something completely new and beautiful in it's own right. The magic of Skyrim will always be there, you just have to find it.
There's nothing like experiencing this game unexpirienced You can only do it a few times. It's hard to be happy with the memories you have. But at least you have them. Nostalgia.
12 years later and I still haven’t finished it. I was way too much of an ‘exploration’ player and it just got shifted to one side over time but it’s one of those games you never forget due to its sheer beauty - this music track included.
100s if not 1000s of hours and yet, i’ve never actually killed alduin. may seem very weird but i just loved the actual world and every small detail then the actual big plot points
Same bro same, true fully never finished even Bethesda game. I always get to the point where it’s the last thing and in all my years gaming now. (29) I just can’t bring myself to finish them. Always feel like there’s one more stone to overturn, one more dungeon to crawl.
Im playing skyrim for the first time ever, and I found myself wishing I could live in the quiet moments forever, nothing but a gorgeous view and thundering storms
In my journal, I wrote to my future self: "If I ever get amnesia, play Skyrim V Elder scrolls. Trust me, you'll love it." Now all I have to do is wait.
My step dad passed away September 11th 2010. He was 1 year and 2 months shy of being able to experience Skyrim with us. It's been 10 years now. He got me into Oblivion when it came out. One day, I'll introduce my future children to a game that will impact them, such as he did with me. Rest in peace pops.
Remember when people were affected by things? Those were the days. Now you'll rarely hear of anyone being affected by anything. They're too busy being impacted because that sounds more dramatic. Nothing personal. Just noting how certain words fall out of popular favor.
@@Mr._Anderpson it depends on the situation for when I choose to use affect rather than impact. If I want to convey how deeply something affected me, impact is the best word I can think of. When I am more emotional about something it really affects me. 👍
Skyrim music has to be the most comforting and immersive game music of all time. I listen to this ost for everything. From driving, hiking, reading and sleeping; this ost comforts me in many ways, and is the perfect music to day dream to.
I slept with this on, in my headphones. I had the most surreal and amazing dream, and I could hear this the whole time. It almost felt lucid, it was fantastic. Thanks so much for the upload. Can't wait to see if this will actually help me sleep better, or just continue having crazy dreams.
Listening to this while doing college work... I love Skyrim so much. Wish I lived in that universe, even though I'd get killed by bandits ten seconds in, haha
Legitimately every playthrough I find it towards the beginning of the game lol. Probably 90% of the time I find it in one of the chests in Bleak Falls Barrow, usually the one next to the Dragon lord you kill for the Dragon Stone lol.

the first time i played this game, i was 7 years old. stepdad gave it to me, as a christmas gift. i cherished it ever since. the day after, i decided to boot it up. i remember taking a good bit of time on my first character, as i know that my first would be my best, even with no skyrim knowledge. a little bit in, i definitely knew that this would be my favorite game of all time, just based on riverwood alone. i think now would be the time to say, i have a huge soft spot for medieval/fantasy games, because just looking at the town, the people, the buildings, i loved every bit of it. then i heard i should go to whiterun because of the dragon. i of course, being the young bean i was, took the trail, no hopping over hills or mountains, i just walked to the city, taking in the beauty of this game. along the way, it was night time and rainy, and hearing this, it hit me right in the heart. this caused me to love a game the most i ever will in my lifetime. the downtime between engagements, and the fights themselves, they were stunning. i finally came to the village outside of whiterun, and saw the giant fighting some npcs. and i just ran in blind and went swinging. i was so locked on whiterun, i didnt bother listening to what the woman was saying, i just left and ran up to the door. the guard stopped me, and i told him i needed to get in, and he let me pass. i go through what people probably normally did, and went to the smith first, told the guy i was greymane, got annoyed by nazeem (tried to kill him even), went to jarl balgruff, got told to fight off the dragon, killed it, and i decided that was enough for that day. and even then, this was still playing. i sat outside for around 15 minutes before i stopped. this was THE game. a masterpiece. a game that, with time, i would learn to love more than any other game. fast foward to now, over 8 years later. i never hated the game once, even with mods crashing the game, or making it harder, because the stellar soundtrack always pulled it together. this 10 hour extension of a song/many songs still gives me that childhood nostalgia, that reason to pick up my controller. Bethesda, you may be going down a pit of hell, but this game will never go hated. this was the perfect game, exploits and bugs aside. thank you Bethesda. and thank you, reader, for being one of the many people to keep this work of art alive. may the divines bless your journeys.
Visually impressive. The music is beautiful, but Jeremy Soule never disappoints. Mechanically wonky. They keep stripping down many of the things Todd sees as 'superfluous', but which players see as giving depth & flavor to a game. They made their decision & it paid off. They designed it for appeal to those who wanted to complete practically all the faction quests with one character. I love the game & have played it at least a little each year since 2011. Is it the best thing ever? That is debatable. Like Mark Hamill said when discussing movies, "Just because something makes a lot of money doesn't mean it is good."
I still play Skyrim to this day, and it gives me nostalgia of when I stopped for a long long long time. And then redid everything, cause I lost progress.
@Coverdale It's really good, I had played it when I was like 10. Still a favorite of mine, though I stopped playing when the PS3 was replaced with the PS4.
Kali Yuga Knight I still play. Got it day of release on ps3 when I was at uni, and got it on Switch a year or so ago. Basically the only game I still play these days.
I remember finding this when I first started using RUclips in 2018. I didn’t even know what a video game was, yet I found this, and listened to it on loop for months. I only found out about the game years later, so I had a chance to experience the wonder this world provided, and the game was even better than I imagined. Thank you, Everness, for introducing me to video games, and how beautiful they could be.
sofia laurren caramat yo you have no idea how true that is. 5 years ago I got back from japan and my jet lag was so bad. I ended up crashing at 4pm EST and slept for like 16 hours straight. I dreamt I was in Skyrim for like 4 days hunting around riverwood. I had fun at the tavern and crafted lots of weapons. When I woke up from that I almost cried that shit felt so real...sheesh :|
A million times thank you! My almost 2 month old loves watching his dad play skyrim and doesn't always sleep at night. We tried everything 2 minutes after I start playing this he's out. Thanks again. -tired parent
Same here!!!! I played this religiously since the game came out fast-forward to 2022 I just turned 27 and pregnant this was the only thing that would settle my baby in my womb he would KICK me so much now that he's 4 months old he always uses this music to fall asleep THANK GOODNESS FOR JEREMY SOULE 😭
Just imagine. You join choir. You work hard with your voice progressing and progressing. Eventually someone approaches you to sing for an upcoming game “Skyrim.” Skyrim’s blows up and people hear your music as they head towards Riften for the first time. Or as they’re hunting for food. Now your voice is being used by thousands of people for studying, sleeping, just vibing. Now that... has got to be an honor.
Skyrim was my best friend in a dark time many moons ago. I was 15, being homeschooled by my mom who had cancer, and I was incredibly depressed and suicidal. We lived in the middle of nowhere and I had no friends besides my brother. He got a new job in another state and moved, but he left me his PS3 and Skyrim. I was utterly alone in every sense, but Skyrim was there for me. In that magical, beautiful world, I got to go on adventures and escape my shitty reality. It will forever be my most beloved game.
I had a similar experience to you I can relate with I lost my mum to suicide and after that I moved in with my brother and I played this game every day for a long time and as soon as I got home from school it was part of what brought me up I hope life is well for you now from Glasgow Scotland 🙏
I feel like the soundtrack of this game is criminally underrated. I mean everyone talks about animal crossing, hollow knight, minecraft, etc. and those are all good but everybody sleeps on this masterpiece
I feel like it's just overshadowed because of how blatantly amazing the Fallout universe' soundtracks are.. I feel like the casual player loves the Skyrim score, several parts of the game's soundtrack- but people won't associate those memories on Thier own if they don't already take the time to stop and appreciate the score. They end up loving it for the events that happened while hearing certain parts of the score.. but in MY opinion- ES atmosphere and the score in general- but more importantly skyrim- is an absolute masterpiece to me.. the few (alot of us but in comparison to people who never notice shit in games it's very few) who can recognize it like us..we know this score very well.. it literally warms my heart and soothes my soul. Wishing safe travels to YOU old friend ..all of you.. and good fortune along the way..
This guy Jeremy Soule, how can he compose such impossibly amazing, charming songs that so impossibly fit the world of the game and our expectations of that world? Along with Ramin Djawadi of The Game of Thrones, I believe that they deserve much more recognition than they get.
Howard Shore too, the guy that did the soundtrack for the Lord of the Rings. And Matt Uelman, the guy who did the music for the first 2 Diablo games, the Torchlight games, and I think WoW.
@@TheStruggler0 It's an experience that stood the test of time; I deeply envy you for not knowing the game and getting to discover it for the first time
Honestly the fact that the endless bugs, weird quests, generic story, and so much more exist but we can all search up this video and happily fall asleep to it shows just how amazing of a game it is
Exactly. I often describe it as a wonderful terrible game. It was definitely the beginning of a new era, when you could no longer expect two Elder Scrolls releases per decade. I think Bethesda were the victims of their own success. It sold so well they were afraid to move on, instead making new editions & porting it to new platforms. Now it has been 10.5 years and the longer they wait, the higher expectations will be.
@@Mr._Anderpson if the next elder scrolls is even slightly as great as skyrim is i’ll be happy. I just want to experience something close to what i experienced when i first played skyrim :(
I wont lie i heard this for the first time in idk how long today and i cried, it remided me of when me and my brother used to play this, it doesn't sound like much but there the memories i cherish.
The love of my life passed away a few months ago. Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind - they all held him together and gave him so much joy and peace. He could escape for hours, days, or weeks into these beautiful lands. The amount of times I've heard 'Hey you. You're finally awake'! He'd love to be an orc or a nord, starting with magic but usually falling back on two-handed weapons. Sometimes he'd be dark, most of the time he'd be good! We used to play together, particularly when I was pregnant with our son because I was so sick. He'd come home from work and find me deep in a barrow or furiously levelling up my alchemy. Then we'd have dinner and he'd play, and I'd watch him until bed. It hurts too much to play at the moment. But I love putting this on as I go about my day and as I get our toddler to sleep. Because it's so familiar and feels like him. Feels like home. I'm glad we were not the only ones who loved Skyrim as keenly as we did. I'm so glad to be a part of this community and one day share it with our son. My the divine bless you on your journey 🙏🌻
My favorite track has always been when that choir voice kicks in. I absolutely freeze in time and my mind is in another place every single time I played this game. 3:35:30 it still happens to me. Idk what it is, I just escape somewhere mentally for a few seconds.
YES! Oh, man, that is crazy. It’s not the battles that I remember, it’s the strolling through towns, visiting vendors and talking to NPCs in the Inns. Always some place to go and something to do.
Hey you, finally awake! You, trying to remember the good old memories right? Walked right into this beautiful music, same as us and that thief over there!
Skyrim was truly one of a kind. I have over 2500 hours in the game across many many playthroughs. I've completed every quest and dungeon at least twice. But god damn if I don't still get that urge to hop back in that carriage to Helgen at least once a year.
I have 551 hours on my switch and 53 on my computer and probably 500 unaccounted hours on my Xbox 360 I'm hoping to bet the game on all races and finish all quests twice max lvl once and get every collectable item, but I don't think I'll reach anything as good as what you have and thats from 6 months ago
This game means so much to me. I will forever be grateful for Bethesda and this game. Got the symbol of akatosh on me for life now. Will forever love the game. To other fellow travellers out there reading this, May the gods bless over you
Damn, this music and ambience took me back to a time that I was so immersed in the world of Skyrim. I miss It. Thank you so much for posting this music.
I felt the same way... and then I started playing with mods! It's recreated the game for me. Heck, sometimes I don't even bother with the main quest! Between the beautiful player homes and DLC quality mission mods and more... I highly recommend you check it out.
My problem is whenever I play Skyrim I give myself a meticulous and stressful experience. I don’t allow myself to relax. Hopefully now that I have VR Skyrim I can jump in and literally go with the flow.
This takes me back....started with nothing and ended as a general in the imperial army, bringing peace to Skyrim, although it wasn't easy. Jarl Ulfric, a man I respected,a man I saw as a strong ally against the high elves....was blinded and warped by the very enemy we both had. They twisted him and tortured him until they made him believe the empire was to blame. I stood before him pleading to listen to reason, but it was all for naught,I had no choice but to slay him then and there. The aftermath was long work, but in the end, I united skyrim. Hell's I even adopted two beautiful daughters,I had our home in whiterun the central hub of all trades in the land. There, I'd teach them the value of a septum and what they could do with it. Our summer home was in solitude, where they would be able to run and play with the other children of the empire. I still hear their laughter to this day in my old age. A proud father who hid a secret from them and everyone else. For I a decorated soldier of the empire promoted by tullius himself... was the thieves' guild leader. Behind the scenes, I'd raise the guild from nothing to its former glory days. I'd personally help establish chapters of the guild all over the continent which helped benefit my hold on the realm and it's people to root out aldmeri dominion spies,I'd be running the guild from here in skyrim while balancing my life as a military man and father. All the while lining my pockets with an endless wealth of gold, enough that I could buy influence where I didn't have it. I used it and my endless resources within the guild to move my position all the way to the top, but they would never know such a thing. I had a more important job that I knew i could not ignore,I had to take up my duties as dragonborn and I sought to eliminate the elven threat that plagued our lands and oppressed it's peoples once and for all. It wasn't easy,I spent many years traveling with my Dova brothers from land to land. Showing the leaders that it's time to rise up and fight with us against the oppression of the aldmeri dominion, they were all stubborn at first but whose going to argue a dragon in human form that had the backing of many other larger dragons? After uniting the nations of daggerfall, my home, then hammerfell, Morrowind,Cyrodil, and even the marshes, which was not easy by any stretch of the word. I was fortunate enough to have argonian natives act on my behalf as emissaries, but we got their allegiance. After all was said and done, we took our first steps towards finally seeing the ending of the war. We sent our representatives to Valenwood, and from there, they were offered peace or war. Of course, they rejected and sent word to the summerset isles....but we were expecting that and intercepted their courier's. Then when the sun rose upon valenwood the bosmer had no chance,we had assassinated their night watch and before they had a chance to react we had swept over them and grabbed victory over them without much blood shed. But it helps when they saw my legion of dragons, they were easy to sway to our side and secure a terms of surrender. Next was the deserts of elsewhere. That battle...I don't like to remember, they had sworn to fight to the last kajhit, and so they did. I wanted to save our soldier's lives as I was advised that marching on them in the desert would almost be suicide. It was their home, and they were molded by its harsh heat. So I devised a plan that I didn't wish to use, but i was left with no real choice. It was then i decided to take a small battalion of four thousand men, stood outside of their main city keep, and called upon a Dova I met in the underworld of the soul carin. I called his name..."Durnehvir" the men stood and watched in horror and shock as he shouted to the keep, and with his necromancy he called upon over fourty thousand undead soldiers, they wiped over their keep like a plague killing all who resisted and fought back. All I want to say now is they are rebuilding, and I hope to Talos that I never have to do it again. But now... now came the summerset isles. I took a fleet of redgaurd ships while I flew on the back of Ohdaving. The meeting was as I expected...tense. I offered them this last chance, surrender, or face genocide. The stubborn stuck-up Altmer chose war... and this is the part I had removed from the annuls of public history, for only a few will truly know how this went. The sky's had Ohdaving and several other dova raining dragon fire down upon the entire island. The ground forces led by myself and the generals who helped me take the rest of the continent, it had proven to be a massacre of which the mer had no chance of survivng....there aren't any high elves left on summerset, All of them are gone. Every man, woman, and child slain and send to their afterlife. I was regarded as a hero,a legend, some even hailed me as the rebirth of Talos himself. But now here I sit, emperor, old,my daughters have grown up. My youngest Sophie is a scholar bless her heart. My oldest Lucia is a soldier, and a damn good one at that. She commands most of the imperial forces and has seen little to no combat, mostly just resistance forced from the valenwood. I've done all I could have ever done,I United Tamirel and her peoples beneath a single sigil for a second time. The empire has risen to a golden age that I hope will last over a thousand years if not more, the people prosperous and happy. But as I stare out and watch the sun set beyond the horizon I feel my mortality catching up with me. I wonder....will this last? Will the peace I brought hold for generations? Or is it only held together because of fear? I'll never know, but I will always hold out hope that what I did I did for the good of the realm...for the good of Tamriel and her people. I think I'll make a trip to Skyrim...one last time,to climb the throat of the world one final time and see my brother parthernax again...I miss his wisdom. My lovely daughters if you are reading this then I have already passed,I only ask that you take me to the great land of Skyrim, take me home to those rolling hills of whiterun and lay me to rest upon the skyforge. Let my ashes blow into the wind and let my soul pass onto sovngarde, where my brothers and sisters in arms await me. I am so proud of you two, and i love you both, but I love you most of all....Tamriel. - Emperor Hyades Blackthorne III. Edit:It has been a very long time. Coming back to see all the responses and love makes this emperors heart happy. And I hope this fix changes my wall of text into more bite sized texts for future readers. I love you all.
Did you ever have someone to love? To remember...? I don't like to remember that day. I was a young Altmer, but in deep love with a Nord. It didn't take long for my daughter to become accustom to him. Soon after we had gotten married, he opened shop. We needed some way to provide for the family, didn't we? Once we had gotten the money, I adopted a second child, my son. He lived in Dawnstar, and he was to provide the miners with food and warmth, although he slept in the inn, on the cold floor next to the fire. He also loved my husband. Months after my family was whole, I had received word of a missing sword that was believed to be lost in a Dwemer Ruin. I agreed, although I now see that the beauty of an object is not equivalent to it's safety. I asked my husband if he would like to join me on the adventure. He hadn't left the house much after setting up shop. Oh Mara, that was the biggest mistake I ever made. ... We had found the sword, now all we needed to do is leave. Bake sweet rolls for the kids. Sing songs by the fire. Sadly, they would no longer be able to do it with their father. There was a large, treacherous Dwemer Centurian by the exit gate. I knew we could take it down. Together. But I didn't seem to be the target. To this day, his body lies in that ruin, next to the body of the Centurian, and all of those who stood in our way. Bestest wishes, Celbi of Summerset Isles
Unfortunately I don’t think so, allegedly he had sexual relations with a Bethesda employee, idk if it was consensual or SA. He did occasionally compose music with Brad Derick for Eso but it’s been a while. Me might return but I doubt it.
@@dr.richtofen9128 yeah it’s very unfortunate but Brad Derick is pretty good. I hope he does TES 6 instead of Inon Zur. He uses to much trombone glissandos during combat music and it reminds me too much of Fallout.
Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is my FAVORITE game that I have ever played...PERIOD! I just love how the country looks, the characters the story/plot/quests, the music and, I am a big fan of games that allow you to create your own character.
A few months after graduating high school (and obsessively playing Oblivion) I waited in line for this game, the beginning to probably my favorite years and memories ahead. I passed out playing the first night to this music. I know people can argue there are better games, but nothing will beat the first taste of this impeccable atmosphere. A game you want to live in is a special kind of game worth cherishing.
I’ve played Skyrim since it first came out and still play it today. The music of the game is one of the many reasons why I continue to play the game. Simply amazing 🔥
I commented on this ages back because you helped me finish an essay for one of my associates degree classes. Now I'm in the final stretch of my degree and WE'RE AT IT AGAIN BOYS. Bless this soundtrack, it's the only thing keeping my noisy ass roommates at bay so I can finish my final papers. 👍
1:10:07 what we all came here for I feel the snow on my skin, the breeze against my back. My shield weighs heavily on my arms as I finally sheathe it onto my shoulder. My metal armor is freezing to the touch, but the fur inside makes me as warm as a scorching fireplace. The embers burn deeply within thy eyes as my inner Dovah calls to me from the dream realm. The ancient heavens sing hymns to the Nine Divines that resonate through my internal being. It is time. I close my eyes as the last thing I see are the stone gates of High Hrothgar. The smell of pines and falling snow fill my lungs as I take my last breath before falling into a deep sleep. Peace.. at last..
When I was growing up my dad used to tell me about all the great composers such as Mozart, Beethoven etc but this is still the most amazing piece of work I’ve ever heard
I remember reading a comment on another Skyrim soundtrack video that was something along the lines of a college professor saying that video game music is not high-quality music. The student(s) in the class recommended the soundtrack for this game and the professor changed his tune when he admitted it was actually very well-written and played. Not sure what video had this comment or whether the story is true, but I agree with the sentiment. The soundtrack composed for this game is top-notch, high-quality music.

We need to constantly bug Bethesda into signing up Jeremy Soule once again. Sadly Jeremy and the folk at Bethesda fell out over some live concerts that were done without Jeremy’s consent. He tweeted angrily about it not being a true representation of his work if it wasn’t being played from the original manuscript, of which he had the only copy. So therefore the live concerts where being played from transcribed manuscripts *ie played only by ear and not the real thing. The whole thing made me feel very sad because I feared that he’d never work for the studio again after that. Although he has since said that he has at least one more Elder Scrolls game ‘still in him’. So there is hope. The ball is in Bethesda’s court, I guess. Fingers crossed!
@@TheKillaBunny77 Yeah, the current series of unfortunate events really makes me sad about how Bethesda is doing business, it also worries me about the next TES game. ):

Really I wish I was alive in Skyrim's reality, not this one. It would be so good. I really wish Tamriel was real.
But, what if, in one of the many multiverses, Skyrim IS real and WE are in it...?
That's a possibility, but as of now I really wish I was living in Skyrim; Whiterun, Winterhold, any of them...
Halfway through the video you should’ve put
“There you are! I’ve been looking for you. Got a letter I’m supposed to deliver... looks like that’s it... got to go!”
Then sudden random battle music “never should’ve come here”
Hold it right there stranger, hand over your valuables or I'll gut you like a fish!
Then have the dark brotherhood kidnap you and make you kill a random person
Lol that is pretty funny
But that would go against what this vid is for
hahahahaha thats genius

OMG big brain idea. Make a 4d gaming room
After so long I still feel the same way.
Then you watch a wolf get launched into orbit by a giant, you hear a slight whisper “it just works.” Then you scream.
'I feel like I've gone home' - I felt that.
I can hear it. How i sprinted through the night. How my Stamina was consumed and i breathed heavily. Just me, under the moon, and the far wide world.
(Continuation of what you said there)
As I stop in moments to just be in amazement of the beauty of Skyrim, I find myself to be in a place where I shouldnt be or so the bandit says.

As late as this reply is, no light can shine to its max potential without darkness and opposition.

- ❤️ Liana

Not gonna lie videos like this has made a positive impact on people's lives. Thank you everness for existing
I have deeply romanticized this game, this music is one example of why I get the feeling of being in love when it comes to Skyrim.
being able to feel love in association with music or even games is a good thing, that means you can appreciate beauty and feel gratitude.
your heart chakra is opening up either when you cherish beauty in art or think of a beloved person - in essence its the same feeling
Viper CRB I relate to that feeling. I’m in love with Skyrim. I love the atmosphere, the lore, the characters.

Jeremy Soule captured the very harmonic essence of perfection composing the music he made for Skyrim. It's the perfect fit, and IMHO it made Skyrim that much better.

You don't know the good times till you are no longer in them.
The feeling remains...
Even after the glitter fades.
Tried to substitute with eso but- not the same.
There's TONS of modded add on playtime to enjoy
Eat some acid or get really stoned and play, preferably the former. It will reignite your "child-like" wonder in so many ways. You can apply this formula to many things, in moderation. Psychedelics combined with something you love can create something completely new and beautiful in it's own right.
The magic of Skyrim will always be there, you just have to find it.
This is why I'm playing Skyrim at slow pace. I just don't want to end this.

Sorry for your loss.

the first time i played this game, i was 7 years old.
stepdad gave it to me, as a christmas gift. i cherished it ever since. the day after, i decided to boot it up. i remember taking a good bit of time on my first character, as i know that my first would be my best, even with no skyrim knowledge. a little bit in, i definitely knew that this would be my favorite game of all time, just based on riverwood alone. i think now would be the time to say, i have a huge soft spot for medieval/fantasy games, because just looking at the town, the people, the buildings, i loved every bit of it. then i heard i should go to whiterun because of the dragon. i of course, being the young bean i was, took the trail, no hopping over hills or mountains, i just walked to the city, taking in the beauty of this game. along the way, it was night time and rainy, and hearing this, it hit me right in the heart. this caused me to love a game the most i ever will in my lifetime. the downtime between engagements, and the fights themselves, they were stunning. i finally came to the village outside of whiterun, and saw the giant fighting some npcs. and i just ran in blind and went swinging. i was so locked on whiterun, i didnt bother listening to what the woman was saying, i just left and ran up to the door. the guard stopped me, and i told him i needed to get in, and he let me pass. i go through what people probably normally did, and went to the smith first, told the guy i was greymane, got annoyed by nazeem (tried to kill him even), went to jarl balgruff, got told to fight off the dragon, killed it, and i decided that was enough for that day. and even then, this was still playing. i sat outside for around 15 minutes before i stopped. this was THE game. a masterpiece. a game that, with time, i would learn to love more than any other game.
fast foward to now, over 8 years later. i never hated the game once, even with mods crashing the game, or making it harder, because the stellar soundtrack always pulled it together. this 10 hour extension of a song/many songs still gives me that childhood nostalgia, that reason to pick up my controller. Bethesda, you may be going down a pit of hell, but this game will never go hated. this was the perfect game, exploits and bugs aside. thank you Bethesda. and thank you, reader, for being one of the many people to keep this work of art alive. may the divines bless your journeys.

@@georgeprusak5721 and then Morrowind is even better than Oblivion.

This soundtrack is divine.
Literally
It's almost indescribable how they make sounds to make me actually feel and live in the ambience.
I literally sleep on it-
I feel like it's just overshadowed because of how blatantly amazing the Fallout universe' soundtracks are..

Exactly. I often describe it as a wonderful terrible game. It was definitely the beginning of a new era, when you could no longer expect two Elder Scrolls releases per decade.

Hopefully now that I have VR Skyrim I can jump in and literally go with the flow.
listened to this for ten minutes then found myself booting Skyrim again... never really ever stopped playing..
Bestest wishes,
Celbi of Summerset Isles

Something about the music+rain and just the nostalgia of first playing Skyrim almost brings me to tears. Thanks for this.
jeremy soule is an absolute master... i hope he comes back for elder scrolls 6
Unfortunately I don’t think so, allegedly he had sexual relations with a Bethesda employee, idk if it was consensual or SA. He did occasionally compose music with Brad Derick for Eso but it’s been a while. Me might return but I doubt it.
@@jdplaystubathats a shame :(
Soule was and is an essential part to the soul of skyrim, and the elder scrolls as whole
@@dr.richtofen9128 yeah it’s very unfortunate but Brad Derick is pretty good. I hope he does TES 6 instead of Inon Zur. He uses to much trombone glissandos during combat music and it reminds me too much of Fallout.
He probably be dead of old age when and if Elder Scrolls 6 comes out
Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is my FAVORITE game that I have ever played...PERIOD!

It's actually raining tonight as I write this, and it's such a relaxing experience. Good night, reader.
Me too lol
I’ve played Skyrim since it first came out and still play it today. The music of the game is one of the many reasons why I continue to play the game. Simply amazing 🔥
Still today even?
Cachillian Yes still even today. I too play Skyrim. I see myself playing Skyrim 20 years from now.

I feel the snow on my skin, the breeze against my back. Peace.. at last..

Kyne’s Peace I believe. I may be wrong.
Universal _Wisdom You were correct good sir, thank you very much!
Pure beauty

Hey, I used to watch all of your Skyrim videos throughout my undergrad while studying. Just wanted to check in once again and say that I've made it to grad school, and I won't quit watching anytime soon. Thanks!

Listen 10 Seconds to the Music. Stops Music. Starts Skyrim.
This!!! I use this to put my 3 year old to sleep and it's so hard NOT turning skyrim on once he is asleep
I just hope they add this kind of music on TES 6.
@@TheKillaBunny77 i didnt know about that good to know ty
