  • Kauniainen (Swedish: Grankulla) is a relatively small city (approx. 9000 inhabitants) completely surrounded by the City of Espoo. Kauniainen was founded by a corporation in 1906, AB Grankulla. It appeared originally as a small private villa community, when a few investors bought a large plot of land and began splitting and selling it for villas, and building infrastructure. The beautiful Villa plots were quite large and built by the best Finnish architects. Today, Kauniainen has the lowest tax percent of all the cities in Finland.

    Nice to see a town with less graffiti and tagging, shows they have higher morals there.

      I wouldn't take it as a sign of higher morals. More like just a feeling belonging somewhere and more respect for the community and public places.
      But it doesn't take many misfits, with twisted ego, to put tags and other graffiti, so judging the whole community by what just some people do doesn't seem very justified.

    The cute railway station looks so good in shape actually. There are many examples in Finland and Sweden where the building itself is abandoned now, especially the station buildings of small towns near unpopular railway lines..

      The station burned down partially in 2008, so it is fairly recently renovated.

    Работал на Nokia в конце нулевых. Реально красивое место. До сих пор вспоминаю. Первая заграничная командировка именно в Espoo. Все окрестности пешком исходил, в Кауниайнен тоже забредал. Но смотрят на тебя, как на чужака. В общем нечего там делать на самом деле, не ждут нас там.

      I felt like some people who have born in the Capital city area (not all) are too much for their own group and dont even like people out from their bubble so that is why I don't like some of those people's attitude. If it is really capital city area then they should start respecting more others. Some of them have too big ego. Luckily corona time put that ego little bit down but still some have it. I dont hope Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa to be destroyd. But judgement will come if their people are not willing to turn to Jesus Christ and repent of their sins. According to Jukka T. Nieminen's Kouvola Prophecy for Finland. Kouvolan Profetia. Coming Hurricane.

      It is nowadays not that different from any suburb near Helsinki. Kauniainen started as a private company owned by shareholders back in 1906, and at that time wealthy people built their villas there, not too far from the capital and with an easy access by train. For those historic reasons there are very large private houses there and they still attract wealthy people - the consequense is that the city has a very low municipality tax. A lot of quite ordinary people also live there now, it is not in anyway reserved for the wealthy. Housing is a lot cheaper than in Helsinki.

    • @Noddingdog63
      @Noddingdog63 2 года назад

      I guess it only goes to show that Finnish statistics ( quoted ad nauseam) and Finnish fact are actually very far apart.

    • @sampohonkala4195
      @sampohonkala4195 2 года назад +3

      @@Noddingdog63 Cannot quite follow the thought. Kauniainen is the city of the wealthy - on average, if you look at the statistics of the mean income of the households. But the fact is that there is a bunch of super rich people and the majority of citizens are quite ordinary.

      You would be chocked to see some areas in and outside of Stockholm then like Bromma, Danderyd and Lidingö. Compared to Sweden Finland doesn't have that much wealth however they definitely have less issues when it comes to homelessness and gangs.

    • @ojl5055
      @ojl5055 2 года назад

      What do you mean? The richest there aren't even that rich and working (class) people can still afford to live in Kauniainen if they so choose.

    Graffiti is a problem in Finland. I visited Matinkylän beach area and the outside buildings that otherwise would have blended into the woods were destroyed by graffiti as well as some large stones in the forest. It looks trashy and filthy.

    I noticed you chose frames of girls wearing tight pants as the thumbnails for your last two videos. I think women would be creeped out to think that their ass would become a thumbnail on RUclips, even more in a safe country like Finland. You’d do better without this cheap trick.
