As a band The Beatles are just great, but on their own, they’re such strong interesting men, it’s no wonder as a group they were so explosively good. Not all famous musicians have so much going for them.

Except for when he was lying to his wife, and cheating on her constantly! In fact, he cheated on several women. As it all the Beatles! He would tell his wife that she was being paranoid even though he knew that he was sleeping with other women. In today’s culture, probably get him canceled as would have Lennon been with his filing to help us and hitting women, etc..

In the Beatlemania days we were obliged to have a favourite. I chose George because he looked a little like my Dad , but actually I loved them all. My family were a bit fractured and I was in a children’s home. The Beatles meant everything to me. I loved music and to sing and Ringo was 100% correct. The Beatles catered for all age groups. I could continue to love them and their music from a young child to adulthood and even old age ( just saw Paul live at the O2 in London). They really are like my family. Peace and Love xxx

In '88, beneath the glow of lights so grand,
Michael Aspel welcomed legends, a revered band.
George Harrison and Ringo Starr, hand in hand,
Their tales of glory and friendship, forever stand.
Aspel, with his gentle grace, led the conversation's dance,
As Harrison and Starr reminisced, in a nostalgic trance.
From Liverpool's streets to fame's exalted stance,
Their journey, a testament to music's enduring romance.
With laughter in their voices, and memories so clear,
They shared the joys and sorrows of a bygone year.
The Beatles' legacy, ever precious and dear,
In Aspel's interview, it shone bright and near.
In '88, a reunion of souls, so profound,
Aspel, Harrison, and Starr, their stories unbound.
Their bond, a testament, forever to astound,
In the hearts of fans, their melodies resound.
So let us cherish that moment, in history's embrace,
Aspel, George, and Ringo, in a timeless space.
In '88, with wisdom, humor, and grace,
They reminded us of music's enduring place.

Of course, to John, Paul, George & Ringo being The Beatles was just a part, a huge part of their lives, but from the inside , all the bad stuff as well, that only those four guys could experience. To the rest of us Beatles fans, who can only ever know it from the distant out side, can you imagine what it must be like to be able to say, as you pass through your life, that I was one of The Beatles, I was a Beatle, the greatest most influential pop group in the history of popular music. Try to imagine being able to say that to another person, and for it to be true. Mind blowing.

My favourite part is when Ringo says 'have you got any eggs?' and George genuinely cracks up. That's how they would have been 25 years earlier.

    • @elfinia

Poor Ringo didn’t like the food in India . The Ashram was vegetarian and I think this is why the ‘eggs’ had to be secretively buried.

At the start it was mostly John And Paul and John was reconized as the leader of the Beatles. GEORGE mades some great songs that were some of my favorites during the beatle years then when they broke up all things must pass was made and all the great music from George started to come out and Ringo too

Couple of lads in their late 40's but proof that the bonds you form in your early 20's stay concrete, and you will always slip back into that dynamic when you hang out again... It's actually quite beautiful, really.

Ringo became sober after this. You can tell he’s drinking at this time. George tended to be a bit grumpy in interviews but was on very good form here.

George was very good friends for thirty plus years with some dude named Robert Zimmerman. Just read that in a book and it blows my mind. Bob moved from Woodstock to Malibu in’70 and raised his son Jacob down the beach from Linda Ronstead

So ironic listening to this as Paul, with whom they weren’t particularly friendly at this time, though it was Paul who was like George’s older brother at school, gave his house in LA to George when he was dying from cancer but didn’t want to die in hospital. A last kind act for his childhood friend.

Nothing is just a human concept and doesn't really have any basis in this tangible reality we are all experiencing. All we know and can observe is through existence. Existence and non existence seems to be a false dichotomy since there's no proof of the latter.

Sweet George really didn’t deserve that. So sad.
As I understand it, he came from a loving family ( all squashed into a council house). His mum always looks happy and glamorous in old photos. She once replied to one of my fan letters ( sadly lost). His Dad worked on the buses.
