George was very good friends for thirty plus years with some dude named Robert Zimmerman. Just read that in a book and it blows my mind. Bob moved from Woodstock to Malibu in’70 and raised his son Jacob down the beach from Linda Ronstead
So ironic listening to this as Paul, with whom they weren’t particularly friendly at this time, though it was Paul who was like George’s older brother at school, gave his house in LA to George when he was dying from cancer but didn’t want to die in hospital. A last kind act for his childhood friend.
George Harrison quoted Bob Dylan twice! (Sort of) in the song he says “it all over now baby blue”, and when Ringo says, “but you were so much younger than”, George adds “I’m older than that now”.

I'm watching you tube and my favorite george is on now who sadly passed ❤XX
Love to you. I was too young ( 10 years younger than you) to remember exactly when I first heard their name. In England we started to hear that harmonica on the radio around early 1963 and for the British fans it was instant love. Like a magic spell had been cast. Very best wishes to you xx
The last part of his life was bizarre. With the intruder who assaulted him and then a diagnosis of cancer. He seemed beset with bad luck. This was a pretty good interview. Gifted musician
Sweet George really didn’t deserve that. So sad.
As I understand it, he came from a loving family ( all squashed into a council house). His mum always looks happy and glamorous in old photos. She once replied to one of my fan letters ( sadly lost). His Dad worked on the buses.
Love these two
In its own way this is a compelling take on it all
