Not really. The extra crit chance isn't neccasary to hit 100%, so Tenacious is just going to occupy the slot of a cell that'll actually contribute to damage.

Well, eventually at least (when high-enough shields are obtained lmao). It has +6 Tenacious, Berserker, Cunning, Conduit (or Catalyst if you want to change the utility perk cell slots), and +3 Predator, Weighted Strikes (Skarn bond), and Parasitic. I have managed to get +15k shields in round 4 of tesca with it. So, yeah. I'm not sacrificing any damage and I am even getting more protection. No way I'm getting one-shotted anytime soon and it can even be used for trials bc of the amount of shields it generates and the parasitic, which can grant you health if you don't have shields and get hit, which your health would be over 400 (800, to be exact), so the behemoth won't one-shot you.
@@luislebronaponte2737 I mean, with PB3 and the talents from the escalation tree, you get enough lifesteal and damage reduction to not have to run Iceborne or Parasitic. One-shots don't typically happen past PB2, so reductions aren't as meaningful as straight up damage, since that's what will scale your lifesteal. Shields don't offer anything but crit chance with Tenacious, and with the right amp setup, you'll already have 100%+ w/o needing to use it. You're also handicapping yourself by running a weapon that is same-element if you're doing Terra Escalations. Maybe it'd be decent in Shock, but not for Terra. Predator is also a dead cell in that build if you're getting hit. And if you're not getting hit, you wouldn't need parasitic or the extra protection at all. I'm not saying this to put you down, either, I'm just saying that the build you've put here isn't that great realistically.
@@XannyPhantasmo So, what you said is actually correct up to the end when you mentioned the realistic part. I can vouch for not only its effectiveness, but also its practicality. By having The Skullforge, which is practically in every single one of my builds, except the one I change every week for Trials, I get infinite stamina usage, but I get a defensive perk cell slot and one less perk cell slot. This somewhat limits my decisions from all of my armor, which led me to create the build with the cells I mentioned, which have the highest dps possible for a terra weapon. I did change my build I had for sesca for that one bc I realized I would get more crit chance if I had that instead of the Reza weapon and I also would benefit from the elemental damage increase. Nonetheless, it is also better realistically not because of the highest dps it can output for having being limited due to The Skullforge, but also because of the defense it grants if you don't get hit. Don't get the build wrong. It is not meant for one to get hit and instead encourages me not to. It grants me shields which correspond to higher crit chance and therefore higher damage and also protection just in case I do get hit, which is most unlikely bc I mainly use CB, so I can not only dodge bc of the stamina I never run out of, but also bc of the special with the momentum blades mod, which fills up eventually with literally one click or button press of the light attack. I'm not kidding. The crit makes it that insane and idk if it's a bug or not lmao. Pt. is that realistically, it is the best escalation build for any type of escalation. Other than that, it also provides a decent chunk of dps bc of the crit chance that keeps increasing as you keep getting more shields. The issue with parasitic is also just in case you get hit and to fill the defensive slot of The Skullforge. By not using the passive to have life steal, you can have a higher life (by not using Discipline) and also have access to more damage-increasing amps instead of ones to increase crit chance. Basically, what I'm saying is that a perfect-amp escalation run with my build wins over any others bc of the crit chance. With my build, I only have to focus on getting: 1. Thrill 2. Virulent 3. Executioner (or Shock form) 4. Reckoning These increase the damage output more than any cell (debatable with Executioner tho) In regular hunts, I just use the other against [insert element here] builds I got prepared anyways.
I can vouch so strongly for the dps of the Skarn weapon build mostly bc I have tested it against a Koshai weapon build in the training grounds. The Skarn weapon build was with the perks I mentioned while the Koshai one had the low-life build ones to achieve the highest dps possible with that build without having to rely on cells such as OP and Ragehunter. The Skarn weapon's dps kept increasing and it was probably gonna keep increasing bc of conduit (lantern charge generating going pretty quick like omg) while the Koshai one did not have enough dps to keep the lantern charge generating fast enough, which by my POV means that the Skarn weapon has the higher dps. I could've also gone ahead and compare it to other weapons such as the Torg weapon with...no can't bc the blaze don't have a perk that is not like OP, Ragehunter, and Aetherhunter (2 are literally op and ah and the remaining one is evasive fury), Umbral weapon such as the Thrax with Shrowd...no wait it can't fully utilize its UE if I am aiming to not get hit and also have life-steal and having the Riftstalker bond probably will not get as high-enough dps bc it has WF even though it has a pretty good UE, then frost...has defensive cell slot, then shock weapon would be Malkarion with...don't have dps-increasing UE or cells...hmmm...ok then what about radiant! Nah too much rng with the double hit and the Valomyr UE doesn't really work with low-life builds. So, basically, the way to properly compare it in Training grounds with another weapon would be with an umbral weapon and it would most likely be the Thrax with Riftstalker. I think Imma try and see which one bas higher dps. 🤔
