Hey guys, before you comment about pastrami, we have been duly informed: pastrami does NOT in fact come from ham-it comes from beef brisket. Please give us privacy during this time as we grieve the meaty error of our ways.
Born and raised Mormon (we prefer LDS). No coffee or alcohol, you CAN drink caffeine, you're just supposed to avoid addictions in general (and caffeine can be addictive, so some Mormons dont)
I worked with a born and raised LDS woman who told me all dark colored beverages weren't okay...but she would drink root beer and tea occasionally from fast food places. I was always so confused and didn't want to ask her why those dark liquids were okay, but not the others. Can you enlighten me? Or was it a local rule?
The Mormon word of wisdom includes coffee, black and green tea, tobacco and alcohol. And staying away from anything addicting or harming. That last part leaves it up for personal determination of what you consider addicting. Some people, like your coworker, like to include or generalize other things but it is not practiced by the Mormon religion. Just personal preference or culture they grew up on.
You guys are so awesome! This episode hits on what we daily talk about! Fast Food is such a big part of our culture here in the U.S. now... P.S. I miss my In-N-Out Burger after moving to East Tennessee...I'm so happy to hear it's coming to Franklin, TN....it's getting closer! Love your show!
There has been counsel against heavy energy drink use too but not a full restriction. As a result many interpret it as a caffeine restriction since that's the addictive ingredient in common.

I just want to clarify that the secret lives of Mormon wives is not a good example of what the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe. I really like your show and I know a lot of people watch or listen. Please don’t believe everything in that show represents us as a religion. If nothing else, it is the exact opposite. As for the comment about caffeine-there is nothing in our religion that says we can’t have caffeine. It’s a common misunderstanding within and outside our church. I love listening to Smart Money Happy Hour-keep up the great work. Thanks for presenting clean, appropriate entertainment!
I have had both In and Out and Whataburger - the kid in me wants Whataburger, but the adult in me would choose In and Out. I grew up with Whataburger so it will always be my favorite for nostalgic reasons.
I won’t go to Five Guys anymore because of the rotate for the tip cash register… I just can’t do it. And I love their food, but that isn’t - or shouldn’t be - a tipped position
I have the Wendy's app, and love to get the 444 and then a 4 piece chicken nuggets. So I get the burger and the kids get nuggets and we split the fries and drink. And the free frosty tag the kids split the jr frosty. With little kids that works. It's usually around $5-$6 for all three of us to eat.
22:56 I used to do that. Order a massive portion. But I would consume the entire thing myself. And then I weighed 196# which was too much. I used a calorie deficit and dropped 48# in four months.
Best current deals in fast food are the 2 for $5 Jr. Whopper duo. Hot lunch for $5.32 with tax. For early lunch people they have 2 for $5 Crossanwiches. 2 for $6 doubles. The double ham egg and cheese version gets you 50 grams of protein for $6.38.
As a Latter-Day Saint (aka Mormon), mocktails and sodas are very popular because we don't drink alcohol, tea, and coffee. Caffeine isn't the reason we don't drink tea or coffee, but that was something some parents used to tell their kids why we don't drink them when asked why. 😂 The real reason is about our code of health, not unlike Muslims and Jews practice.
Just curious, do you only drink 0 sugar soda, because from a health perspective, teas are healthy because of polyphenols and antioxidant properties. Where as soda can cause obesity if overconsumed and has the possibility of becoming an addiction. I had to cut out soda for a while because I have cravings. At first I thought it was the caffeine but when I switched over to coffee, the cravings became more intense for the fizz. Idk just curious
I worked with an LDS woman. She said coffee, tea (hot or iced) and dark soda pop was a no-go. Sprite, 7-Up, etc ( clear soda pop) was okay. But then she would drink iced tea and root beer. It was so confusing, but I didn't ask her why.
The pandemic deleted menu items for a few years. When items were brought back all of a sudden everything was more expensive! I'm more apt go to places with drive throughs and dog treats. Love Chick Fil A's mobile-thru, going past the long line of cars.
Zoe's was created/owned by the same people who created Cava. They sold Zoe's and the new owners ran the entire company into the ground. Cava is as close as you will ever get to Zoe's. (RIP the spinach roll ups)
Why not, even late at night, run into convenience store to get a yogurt, piece of fruit, or salad to go with, some milk or juice? Might be faster and lots healthier.
In and Out is way too expensive for what it is. Only thing worse is shake shack. 5 Guys is also overpriced, but it is good enough lol. Whataburger in New Mexico with green chili on everything is hype for cheap.
Speaking of fast food. I just got breakfast from Dairy Queen. They forgot the cheese so I sent it back. Now my sausage has a big bite out of it. Threw it away and went to McDonald’s. $20 bucks for food I can’t eat, but it was for 2 kids also. McDonald’s >Dairy Queen breakfast for price and quality.

Haha!!! 😂😂😂
Speaking of juicy meats, y'all should've done Chipotle vs. Qdoba!
😂😂😂😂
😂
Rachel is such a people’s person. Love her.
This episode confirms - George approves of horsey sauce, just not horses.
😂😂😂
The horsey sauce won't remember your name either...
😂
😂😂
Rachel is so excited in this episode 😂
Love you both; but pastrami comes from beef brisket, not pork😂
It’s so relieving to see content celebrating fast food 😂 I KNOW ITS NOT GOOD FOR US but it’s is so great in many ways 😂😂 story of a millennial 👏🏻👏🏻
Love you guys! I was waiting for a Applebees Vs chilis showdown!

@melymurillo that makes sense. Thank you so much for that clarification! Have a fabulous day.❤️❤️

Arby's double roast beef is very good with lots of horsey sauce. It has a ton of protein, too
Absolutely love watching the 2 of you. Great show
I feel so validated 🤣 In-N-Out.
It’s not caffeine, it’s coffee and tea specifically.
There has been counsel against heavy energy drink use too but not a full restriction. As a result many interpret it as a caffeine restriction since that's the addictive ingredient in common.
Coffee and tea both have health benefits and soda has none… what a strange rule.
I heard it has something to do with their heartbeats. Like caffeine makes them use them up quicker

38:35 - That bartenders way more committed to his job than I would be 😅

Agreed

from a Canadian, who doesn't have a Culvers, I thought it was delicious!!
A friend and I drove round trip 12 hours last month to get to our nearest In-N-Out! So worth it!😁
I won’t go to Five Guys anymore because of the rotate for the tip cash register… I just can’t do it. And I love their food, but that isn’t - or shouldn’t be - a tipped position
the producer's face when George made the comment about finding Rachel's class 😂
Love this type of episodes 🙏

So smart!!
Wisconsinite here - Culver’s is A-1,
Me too, agreed!
Culver’s is like the only fast I go to. I live in Wisconsin. Okay, maybe Cousins Subs occasionally.
Fellow Wisconsinite! Cousin's curds > Culver's. ❤
The cava at cool springs used to be my jam! The one by my new house isn't the same 😂
22:56 I used to do that. Order a massive portion. But I would consume the entire thing myself. And then I weighed 196# which was too much. I used a calorie deficit and dropped 48# in four months.
I used to love Schlotzsky's sandwiches. It has been a very long time since I have been to one. There are not many around in my area.
Being from the PNW I haven't heard of most of these restaurants.
You should do the fast food S-Tier.
Schlotzsky’s is so good!!
I have never met a healthy broccoli casserole 😂
Culver’s is always cooked fresh after you order. The butter burger in the kids meal is the regular size burger. 😊
Pastrami is beef George 👍🫶
George ordering a kid’s meal at Chick-fil-A and then eating it alone in a booth is the most George thing he could ever do.
I live in California and the lines never die down at In n Out
Rachels shoes are awesome
Can Rachel share her recipe for the broccoli casserole? 😁
36:45 is this Kelly from the Dr John Delaney show?!
You did not sell me on In and Out. Whataburger, hands down.
Whataburger > in n out all day every day!
"So good" 😂
My kids worked at in-n-out. Though a faithful Texan, we are in-n-out all the way!!!! They are so much healthier than the average fast food place.
Fire wife here: a fully involved fire means the entire structure is engulfed with flames, not just partially. Love their branding too!
You're welcome.....from Wisconsin!

Jersey Mike's for sandwiches! No contest.

Dude! You need to go to Schlotzsky's. Enough said.
We don’t have at least 50% of these where I live
Same but also haven't heard of some of these so looking them up!
Did anyone notice that Rachel orders the spicy chicken sandwich or wrap at almost every one!! 🥰
Zoe's was created/owned by the same people who created Cava. They sold Zoe's and the new owners ran the entire company into the ground. Cava is as close as you will ever get to Zoe's. (RIP the spinach roll ups)
How many times did Rachel say " so good" 😂
Schlotzskey's is a deli so that's why it's more expensive because you get better quality
JETS!!!!! What is wrong with Rachel? Papa Johns? No lol
George, Schlotzsky’s is good!
I love papa John’s so dang good and those rodeo burgers yum.but I went and got one a few weeks ago and it was $2.50 I was shocked!
At least Pastrami Isn't horsemeat!
Love Raising Cane chicken
I've never been to Schlotzsky's, and I'd still select it over Subway
Schlotzkys is amazing
@taco bell I get the value menu... bean and rice burrito. Get it grilled. Potato soft taco. Senior discount and its under 3 bucks
QUIZNOS❤❤❤❤
Ah You guys did Zaxby’s dirty! Come on the wings & things meal is 🔥
Zaxby's in East Tennessee has gone down in quality in the last few years, imo. ={
@RDStudios hmm maybe at that location. I am from FL and it still hits every time!
Where i live, fast food burgers that are great is WhataBurger but my hands down my go-to will always be Taco Bell! That gordita can get it
Pastrami is BEEF, George!!!
Fun fact.. the wendys frosty keychain is back this year
Chipotle's quality has hone downhill. Just doesn't pack the flavor that is used tol.
Why not, even late at night, run into convenience store to get a yogurt, piece of fruit, or salad to go with, some milk or juice? Might be faster and lots healthier.
Pastrami is beef, George.
Jersey Mike's actually does give you a free sub too. You just have to have the app.
Hey George, Pastrami is made from beef...not pork.
Panera is flat out gross. The food is bland and tasteless, and the bread is hard to chew. The soup 🤢🤮
there isn't really a "back in the day" for Five Guys, they didn't start to expand beyond VA till 2004
I live in a pizza capital of the US in CT. I could never pick from those pizza places but that's okay. I'll stay a pizza snob ;)
I'm a purist. McDonalds, Culvers, Portillo's, KFC, Panda Express are my only choices. Otherwise, I'll wait until I get home to eat.
Good Video
It has nothing to do with caffeine. It is all about the coffee.
In and Out is way too expensive for what it is. Only thing worse is shake shack. 5 Guys is also overpriced, but it is good enough lol. Whataburger in New Mexico with green chili on everything is hype for cheap.
You’re right about Moe’s, you like queso, bc Chipotles queso is TRASH 💀
I did not enjoy this episode! Because now I’m hungry! But I still watched the entire thing through because I’m an idiot!
Never heard of Zasby’s
Rachel my wife is on the same journey 😂 I'm really just trying to get her to not microwave our plastic Tupperware
Just replace it with glass and at least you’re on your way ❤❤❤
@WOOFBTBWP123 I have, she stills microwaves the plastic ones we have left over though 😂
Panera sold out to a german corp..and quality went out the window
In & Out fries order light well not well done says my daughter who works at I&O. :-)
15:57 You assume those things are potatoes 🤔
Like in the coconut? Dirty enough for you?
The fact that Rachel thinks a casserole is healthy...
PASTRAMI IS BEEF not pork
1:36 Don’t try to make sense of the Mormon caffeine weirdness. It’s bizarre. Cold caffeine=good. Hot caffeine =bad 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Jason's Deli all day every day. Panera just makes me mad.
I have lost all respect for guys.....WHATABURER sooooo much better!!
As a kosher observing jew I don't have the option to eat from any of these places 😅 Still an enjoyable and fun episode.
What’s the name of the brand they love? Cozy…?
Cava i think
Cozy earth
I love you guys! Have you ever looked at the ingredients at these places. You're killing yourself slowly!
I was with Rachel until she said In n Out over What a Burger then dissed Five Guys:(
Dude, who orders a steak anything other medium rare???
Panda and Pei Wei are not real Chinese food
Speaking of fast food. I just got breakfast from Dairy Queen. They forgot the cheese so I sent it back. Now my sausage has a big bite out of it. Threw it away and went to McDonald’s. $20 bucks for food I can’t eat, but it was for 2 kids also. McDonald’s >Dairy Queen breakfast for price and quality.
