I think alongside "Get The Ace" from Manx TT, Megalovania is very similar to this song, no surprise since Takenobu Mitsuyoshi composed Manx TT, perhaps he is one of Toby Fox's inspirations.

The reason it probably sounds like SNES to you is because of to the way the Sega Model 2 was built. Sega Saturn's soundtrack had to be rearranged since it uses CDs instead of carts. Sega Saturn version uses CD red book audio, while the arcade version is done entirely in synth. If you go listen to the arcade version of Sky High from Daytona USA, you should hear what I'm talking about. Instruments are not the only things synthesized, the vocals are too, as you should hear the vocals of Takenobu Mitsuyoshi being stretched...
I know this will never officially happen, but I would love to see ports of games like this on the SNES, especially Daytona USA. I think it would make for a great experiment.
Where did you get this version ? Mine from the Competition CD (most likely the original model 2 music) is slower and has parts cut out compare to this.
Is the competition CD based on the PAL arcade machine? Because I remember the arcade machine we used to own of the game being slower and having parts cut out too
@@jakescartoons6045 compared to the PC version of the soundtrack or even other arcade cabinets, just using sega console midi sound chips is really lacking
The Rock Organ in this arcade version is sorely missed in the Arranged Saturn version.
The Saturn version is several leagues ahead of this excuse of a track.

Fuck yes they do. They are a lot more joyful and funky.
Every sound hits harder while the rearranged sounds might as well not even be there.
The arranged version of Sky High blows every arcade version of the Daytona tracks out of the water alone, stop this
They need to remaster sega rally championship 1995 and sega rally 2

It's not midi but I think there is a sequence format for segaPCM or SCSP or whatever this board revision uses.
