Starting up very old Tangye engine

  • After a long restoration period and solving countless problems, this old stationary tangye engine is running like a charm again. We think it is a type AA engine and this type was first tested in 1918 and has about 28 horsepower. But this type of engine had 2 flywheels in those days.... If anyone can help us with information about this, we would appreciate it very much ...! The engine belongs to the Verkoelen & Son collection.

    I have one like it exactly but smaller it is an AO it is about 2 HP from 1906!! I do have a cataloge of Tangye engines from 1906 as soon I find it I will look your type of engine AA but surely it is not 28HP!!!!!! Regards from Malta!

    Nice engine!
    I doubt it's 28HP as it looks smaller than our 23HP.
    What's the bore size on yours?

      Sorry for the late reaction. i missed this post. The engine belongs to a friend of mine. I have to ask him about the technical details, because I don't know this...!

    We have them here on canary Islands. But nobody takes carw and nobody User them
