  • By the beginning of 1984, Disney's stock began to suffer as a result of years of stagnation and a lack of innovation. Yet, with such a treasured library of assets, they were still considered a valuable company. That made Disney the perfect target for a hostile takeover attempt, and it would be the infamous corporate raider, Sault Stainberg, who would take aim at Walt Disney Productions. It was time for Disney to consider all of their options and to prepare for a fight.
