  • From the pilot's seat MIG-29 - To be a Stratonaut.
    The Stratosphere.
It represents the second layer of Earth's atmosphere. On the poles, it starts at 8 km, at the equator at 15 km altitude. The Stratosphere is reaching up to 50 km, then the Mesosphere starts.
This video shows nearby a full flight to the Stratosphere out of the point of view perspective. Watch it in full screen with sound on!
Ignition of the afterburners will speed the MIG-29 UB "Fulcrum" up to Mach 1,7, and then the climb begins. The sky gets darker and darker, and by reaching the max altitude of the day (it is not predictable), a unique view is around: white of the clouds on the horizon will get into the emerald blue and then into the black! We do reach max altitudes between 17 and 21 kilometres, depending on a situation of the day (year season, the temperature below the Stratosphere, a temperature of jet fuel and other circumstances).
We do speak here about a region named "At the Edge of Space".
After reaching altitude, the pilot will steer down the jet to lower levels and will start acrobatic manoeuvres, which will guide backseaters in situations in which the g-force acceleration will be between -2G and +8G.

10:07 look at the curvage of the cabin made by a wide angle of camera... The same wide angle produces an illusion of curvage of the Earth... Normal angle of camera would give you the "curve less earth".
    Earth is flat.
