I don't think you truly understand! THIS is a classic! With a beastly 185hp under the hood and a limited production to like 1,000,000. lol Yeah, it is pretty ordinary but not too many junkyards have multiple Lambo parts in stock. Thanks for watching.

Props to your dad, he deserves a lot of credit for being able to do stuff like this. It was a learning experience for me even though it started out as just goofing off. Thanks for watching!
Having owned 3 "prior gen" Grand Ams myself, (85, 87, and 94) I'm delighted to see that GM finally smartened up and simply used tape to adhere the body cladding to the doors. Those damn riveted-on retaining clips on the older gens were the bane of my existence way back when. By the time you saw rust bubbling up over the body cladding, it was too late to save the door skin! Also have never seen a 99-05 model out in the wild with crank windows!!
I know what you mean about the older generations, I had a few. These moldings didn't cause rust but also did not like to stay in the car. It took me a while to learn the tricks the factory didn't always get right. lol The manual windows only came on the SE and only the REALLY cheap ones. I never rebuilt one and only had one parts car with manual windows in the 300+ I had total. Thanks for watching.

The car looks really good, brand new even. I love the grand am GT. I used to have a 94 grand am GT, loved that car, lots of spunk and would give you whiplash if you weren't careful. So does my heart good seeing one redone to it's former glory.
I guess you havnt driven anything with real power. My 01 V6 5 speed VW Passat walks away from the few of these i can find and the Passat is overweight and underpowered. I wouldnt call either car fast by any means
@@zuestoots5176 was i talking to you? I don't recall asking for your perspective. I've driven plenty of stuff with power. But power isn't always fast either, otherwise semi trucks should be able to blow your doors off.
I still drive one of my own. You can't beat 30+ mpg on the highway and nothing but normal maintenance costs to drive. If I want to go fast I have my G8. My GA is plenty fast to get in and out of traffic and pretty comfortable. All in a car that cost me less than $1000 to buy and build, five years ago. Thanks for watching.
Really they should have kept the Grand Am and Grand Prix. They don't need to produce them every year either but their mistake now people are restoring them instead.
It's good to see a grand am reborn. A g/a like this one was in lethal weapon 4, and they really beat the hell out of that one. I've owned two of them. (90/98) but the one I really miss is the 98. The 1st nice looking car I ever had. ( A black two door).
One of the BEST cars I've ever owned was a 91 Grand Am!!!! Trans went 220,000 miles before a rebuilt. Just about everything else interior and exterior was original, fuel pump, head liner etc. One re-paint and engine overhaul at 270,000.

This was my 1st brand new car too, a white 2000 GA GT coupe, they were the most sought-after highschool kid's car back in the day where I lived (and leases were attainable to 16 year old's on Kmart cashier wages apparantly lol). Good vid.
Glad to have you here. I have always liked them. The have been great sellers and still are. For the money, you could not beat them. They appealed to many markets from kids to elderly people and everyone in between. Thanks for watching!
@@vehcor Yup. It's funny how just the different trim levels made them appeal to such broad audiences. You could easily see just as many teenagers to 20-somethings driving GT's as you would 50-somethings to elderly people driving SE's lol. The Grand Am's were kind of phenomenons for their time.
I wish all repair shops did the job right the first time like you. It ends up costing them $$$ to redo the work. Every time I have sent a car to a shop they have had to fix it 2 & 3 times. I don't feel bad for them they choose to do it the quick & easy way instead of the right way. Sad part is they usually get away with it because the majority of the people don't knew its wrong. It's a pleasure to watch a true master of his trade.
I LOVE these cars, I used to have one just like that one; Grand Am GT, ram air, 4 door, ground effects kit, factory chrome wheels, I wish I still had it, but it got into a really bad wreck! Nice to see one re-built & turning out so well!
Very nice job on the Grand Am! I used to have one of those in white as well that the paint peeled pretty liberally! This is real life & the type of car most of us make our money on! Your system is awesome for sure & the blind fold funny to watch but you didn't miss a thing! Thanks for the cool video!
I had a few that the white paint didn't want to stay put. lol The return on investment is better than the expensive cars but people only look at the sale price. If you make 10k but invested 100k was it worth it? If I invest 1k and make 1k, it makes more sense. I could easily do 10 of these and make the same money in less time with much lower risk. Heck, most people could. Thanks for watching.
One of the reasons I like these cars is the parts availability. I went to the junkyard and had my pick of about 20 Grand Ams and 3 of them in white. They are getting more rare by the day though. Thanks for watching!

My first time seeing one of your rebuilds, very cool seeing someone give love to a car that once was as common as buffalo. Please don't try changing the doors on a 70's Camaro blindfolded.
I like the ordinary cars, they are easy to sell. I like the newer cars just for the easy of working on them. People think the older cars are easier because they have less electronics but they were a pain. Adjustments everywhere, shims, different size bolts, harnesses that did not unplug and ran throughout the car, I could go on!
Good afternoon Scott, you just waved your magic wand and all is well. Your wand is an impact driver clip tool. Looks great. Nice clean looking car, will make someone a nice driver and not break the bank. Thanks for another Friday afternoon video. You take care and have a good weekend.
This one became a work car for someone to save gas instead of driving their big truck back and forth. It will probably pay for itself in 6 months. Thanks for watching!

I know you are not really from Canada or you would have said, "sorry about the extra letter in color". lol I actually had all the parts but went to the junkyard to find these since I knew I would have plenty to choose from in the right color for next to nothing. When I was in the airforce we were tested on field stripping our assault rifle and had to reassemble it in under 2 minutes...blindfolded . Once your experienced it's possible.
@@larndavies6954 That makes sense since if you are in a fire fight in the middle of the night and there is a malfunction you need to know how to get it resolved. There are no time outs, let me have that flashlight and see what the problem is. My little girl is in the army and I have seen the drill before. Maybe that is what gave me the idea. Thanks for your service!
It was more of a personal challenge, I just shared it with you guys. Similar to me putting time restrictions on builds that I could do at any pace I want. Thanks for watching.
I always thought thsee were great looking cars, I had a '99 Coupe for a while that I got right after I graduated back in '05, loved the car, but living in Florida, the interior plastics did not hold up well to the heat and that seemed to be a big issue with these and the Aleros, at least in warmer climates, not sure how they fare up north. I'd love to have another one as a work car if I could find one without a trashed interior down here. This one came out great, I love seeing these videos of "regular cars" being brought back to life.
LOL I suggested you do it blindfolded in the last video. I didn't think you'd Actually do it!! HAHA! Great job! You're awesome man! I like the way GM uses bolts to hold the bumper cover to the fender Instead of those crappy plastic clips that always break. I think i need to blindfold i loose tools all the time! Great attention to detail swapping over all the correct moldings. Great job. This was fun to watch.
I filmed this a long time ago and I laughed when I saw your comment, knowing this was coming. I know what you mean about those clips like the the bolt method too. This was a fun video to make as well as a fun car to work on. You won't catch me blindfolding any GM trucks............ yet! lol Thanks for watching!
Good stuff dude. Haha. It reminds me my dad with really REALLY bad vision (before we actually had any medical, when we just came here) it was just like that for him ALL THE TIME, looking for screws and bolts. It drew me nuts. lol. Got to share your video to let him know I've found his blind tween bro. God bless.
I used to be able to work on S10's blindfolded. Now that I think about it I can still remember where every body bolt is and I haven't touched one in years lol.
@@vehcor It really sneaks up on you sometimes. But the more you keep on trucking the less age slows you down. If you get a chance check out the old BBC programs on Fred Dibnah. He was a steam engine fan and a steeplejack up until he passed away and could do more than 3 guys half his age up into his 60's. It doesn't have much to do with cars, but I think you'll enjoy it. He was a blue collar/working man legend.
Grand am and Grand Prix were great cars back on the late 90’s early 2000’s. They even had the supercharger Grand Prix which was fun back then, now 4 bangers have just as much hp lol. Nice blindfolded work btw. You work better blinded then I do with help lol.
These things are still great, just not worth enough to fix the heavy hits. It helps that the car is easy to work on, it makes me look good. lol Thanks for watching.
I think GM and a lot of other manufacturers made a lot of mistakes after the mid 2000s that they are still correcting. It might be part of the reason these things are still hanging on to some of their value. Thanks for the support!
You wanna impress me, go for a drive blind folded! Okay okay that's a bad joke - but that's.. impressive man, doing the job blind folded. I'm genuinely impressed.
@@vehcor ... Did you know that there is an actual 'Blind driver land speed record' here in England !?? It's held by an ex police officer who went blind after a serious injury (someone attacked him , causing him to lose his sight !). .... The record is around 140 / 150 mph !!
And it is nice seeing an ordinary car. As cool as it is seeing someone put a ton of money into an expensive car, it is nice seeing a cheap car get fixed for cheap.
I agree, I have to sell them and the Lamborghini market is a little smaller than the sub $3000 market. lol I'm not looking to be a RUclips star or make money here so I have to make money on the sale and the super cars are of no use to me. Thanks for watching.
Love your work.i all ways had Grand am gt have question on on just changed the trunk lid can't get the body line right I tired for hours with the 4 bolts on the trunk hinges but it still high where tail light are didn't no how ask don't see email any idea will help also it a 2003 gt and.lid came off a 2000 se but I no there same body style
If your old trunk was damaged, it is possible the hinges are slightly bent. There are two black rubber stops in the rear, most of the time they don't do anything but they could be all the way out and pushing the trunk up. You could move the striker down to pull the trunk tighter as well. Try those and see if they work for you. Thanks for watching.
Luke the force is with you!!!!!😂 Nice job on the build can't wait to see the next build, you have me in suspense from looking at that hood not much evidence to go on.....don't keep us waiting to long
Nice work. I'm driving a '91 Cadillac Fleetwood coupe and if you were closer I'd ask you to work on it! Going in for new rear steel brake lines today. =(
@@vehcor They're fixed and I've more confidence in the braking now, though one of the calipers couldn't be bled as they are so old the nipple just broke off. Guy said he had bought a particular machine for brake lines a while back and didn't need to use it until working on mine! I forget why; the way the lines bend or flare or something. Also got a cross-threaded lug bolt I need to deal with next time in the front which is kind of shitty as it seems like a big job just to change a bolt.
My OCD thanks you for putting those moldings back on the door where they're supposed to be. Nothing yells "that's been hit or at least painted" like moldings installed wherever the installer thinks they look cute.

@@ansdguy1 Only car guys will understand. lol
@@vehcor Maybe Harbor Freight should sell 10mm sockets in bulk, say, 25 in a pack.
@@robj2704 Perfect, when you got home you would still have two left to start your project!
Great job, you're a genius. I like a Pontiac too from you.
Another Great video! The blindfold was a great touch! Looking forward to another project. Thanks for sharing
Thanks, got make the boring cars a little more interesting. New project this week! Thanks for watching.
LMAO, whatta maniac doin' it blindfolded. Good stuff, dude!
I have been called crazy more than a few times. Just trying to make it interesting and challenge myself. Thanks for watching.
This channel has a lot of knowledgeable content, appreciate everything you do!
Thanks and thanks for watching!
Blind folded. Dude, you are something else.
Looks new, had a 91 with white wheels ,16valveHO Loved that car, nice to see you kept another one alive, still got a 08 Grand prix, that's never seen a Northern Illinois winter, looking forward to your next build .
I did a few of that generation as well. Keep the GP safe from the evil salt! Thanks for watching!
Awesome work, love it when you can get parts same colour as the original. Yes colour is spelled correctly for us in Canada.
Mario Lebiedz what's a "Canada"?
I know you are not really from Canada or you would have said, "sorry about the extra letter in color". lol I actually had all the parts but went to the junkyard to find these since I knew I would have plenty to choose from in the right color for next to nothing. Stay warm up there! Thanks for watching!
@@goclunker It is were all the maple syrup and Tim Hortons comes from. lol
So , our Canadian friends actually spell 'colour' correctly huh ?..... Unlike all you Americans ! ;-) .... lol...
@@vehcor don't forget ketchup chips, poutine and swiss chalet
I leased a Grand Am exactly like that one. Nice car.
Wow, and no blood! Lol Car looks good. I always kinda liked those even though I'm no GM fan. Good looking cars in their day.
The blood was last week, when I could see. lol I like to work on GMs the most but I like all kinds of different brands. I guess I am not a loyal sheep like I am supposed to be. lol All brands have their pros and cons. Thanks for watching.
Nice, I like the double camera views. I don't think my kids will touch a window crank, but they'll learn the standard trans.
Thanks, one so you know I didn't cheat and the other so you can see what I was doing. lol It is a good skill to have just in case. My little girl knows how to drive a stick. I taught her on my first CTS-V. Thanks for watching.
Glad to see you working on an everyday driver. Not a super car like others. Dude you have nothing to probe to the haters. They will always be knocking on your videos. They can't help themselves.
Thanks, I'm not about the views and RUclips money so I just have fun doing the work on whatever comes along. I love to agitate the haters. I can't help myself. lol Thanks for watching.
I still love these cars. Had a 2 door black GT. Thought it was really something lol
Me too, I had a few black 2dr GTs, like 22 I think. lol
i only watched the intro so far and i had to stop and comment......your just sick !!! props!!
I prefer mentally unstable, it sounds more official. lol Thanks for watching!
I do not find this video boring at all. Blind fold was not necessary :) Nice looking car!
Freaking hilarious doing it blindfolded! It's definitely an original idea for a video too haha
It was a fun joke I have had with all the people that know me. It was something I said I would do eventually. Thanks for watching.
LOL That was awesome. People always say they can do things blindfolded but I bet most don't try it!
I was that guy until now. lol Thanks for watching!
@@vehcor yes that's what we trained for, however rebuilding a car blindfolded just makes you awesome lol
Good re build sir. Thanks for sharing another great project!
Thanks, thanks for watching!
This car is honestly my dream car.
It was pretty nice for an older midwestern car.
That was pretty impressive! One way to spice up a Grand Am rebuild.
Thanks, I like a challenge! Thanks for watching!
When you finish watching Bird Box 😂
I actually did this before that came out. I was a little upset about that. lol Thanks for watching!
Man you don’t have to do it blindfolded I like your videos when your eyes are open 👍😎
It was more of a personal challenge, I just shared it with you guys. Similar to me putting time restrictions on builds that I could do at any pace I want. Thanks for watching.
You are literally a car guru
I do know these pretty well!
I still love my 04 coupe.
Great rebuild. That will make someone a good everyday whip.
It sure will. It is a commuter car now and is racking up 500 miles a week so far.
Up here the dashes survived mostly but the metal rusted away. You can't win. lol Thanks for watching.
I love these types of videos. Thanks for the upload.
I don't know if I can do many more blindfold videos. I got lucky, it could get expensive. lol Thanks for watching
God bless.
It was a learning experience for me and made me appreciate how lucky I am. Best wishes to you and your family!
Great video like that fact that you doing cars that people like that have to be a baller on a budget
I don't make my money chasing views on RUclips, mine is from the sale so I have to build things I can sell. Thanks for watching.
"When you're doing dumb things, it's always best to do them as safely as possible." Another quip I'm going to steal. Thanks!
Go ahead, just tell them where you heard it! Thanks for watching and stay safe doing dumb things! 😂
I really enjoy watching your videos. Please keep them coming !
Thanks, will do!
I used to be able to work on S10's blindfolded. Now that I think about it I can still remember where every body bolt is and I haven't touched one in years lol.
Before I did GAs I did S10s and Blazers. I was just as good with them. Before that it was Luminas and Cutlass Supremes. Man, now I feel old! 😂
Lol! Blindfolded, that is impressive!! Awesome job!👍👍👍👍
Thanks, always looking for new challenges. Next: the blindfolded test drive. lol Thanks for watching.
Man, I want to buy the car from you lol. Great job. I love 90s to 00s gm cars.
I think GM and a lot of other manufacturers made a lot of mistakes after the mid 2000s that they are still correcting. It might be part of the reason these things are still hanging on to some of their value. Thanks for the support!
I enjoy your videos especially your comments.
Thanks, I'll keep them coming!
Screw the haters , just keep doing what you're doing !
I like to antagonize the haters! lol Thanks for watching!
The 99-05 Grand Am GT'S looked awesome.
You wanna impress me, go for a drive blind folded! Okay okay that's a bad joke - but that's.. impressive man, doing the job blind folded. I'm genuinely impressed.
Too late, up next is the blindfolded test drive! lol Thanks for watching!

Yeah exactly. Thats what I would do.

@@vehcor great thanks I look at that thanks for your help keep up the Grand am vids to to
I haven’t been considering 4-door grand ams but you made it cool #makegrandamsgreatagain

I should have the next one out this week for you. It is just a boring everyday car. lol No one has guessed it yet. Thanks for watching.
That was awesome! Make more please.
Thanks, will do!
Nice work. I'm driving a '91 Cadillac Fleetwood coupe and if you were closer I'd ask you to work on it! Going in for new rear steel brake lines today. =(
Thanks, this one was rust free. Surprising since it is a midwestern car. Good luck on the Caddy!
Underneath the side cladding is Olds Alero body lines, so they shared doors.
They share a lot more than doors.
Always interesting and educational.
Thank you!
LOL Nicely done as usual! I agree manual window cranks should be voided. lol
Technology has made them obsolete so I will be happy to never see another one. lol Thanks for watching.
My OCD thanks you for putting those moldings back on the door where they're supposed to be. Nothing yells "that's been hit or at least painted" like moldings installed wherever the installer thinks they look cute.
Great job.Once again.You the man.
Thanks!
Wonder if that clip tool would work on transmission lines to the radiator clips
No, but this will. Your welcome! amzn.to/2TLiAvv
How about some flood cars would be nice to see how you fix them since alot of people just dont go for them.
I stay away from floods for the same reason as a lot of others. There are too many electrical components in cars these days and repairing them correctly can add up quickly. My G8 was a different story, that might be the only flood car on this channel. Thanks for watching.
I used to play with dirt dobbers as a kid and never got stung. Never knew anyone who did.
I'm replacing my door with an SE door and will need to glue the lettering and molding on. What did you use to do yours? Thanks.
Just 3M double sided tape.
