He never managed to reach 70 .... so sad ... We'll miss you
Alamaak Comedy yes.. Very very very sad 😢
How sadly poignant, yet what a beautifully hilarious anecdote too! Not only was he a true musical genius, but a chat show hosts dream guest! His relaxed comic timing reminds me a lot of Peter Cook. God bless you David. X
He was a lot more down to earth than I expected. I was at Mountain Studio recording an album(in downtime)with my band 3D ECHO in 93. 2 weeks into our session, we were told that David Bowie needed the studio. We didnt know that David was outside the door listening to us jamming. Once we finished, the door opened & he introduced himself. In the studio he's very focused & at the same time open to anything. I got to play lead guitar as well as taking direction
I only hope I could look that good and be that energetic at 57
Bowie is a wonderful artist and I feel fortunate to have grown up while he made music in my time.
A fabulous singer and a genuinely lovely man. His tunes 🎶 were always easy-listening and great to hear. Heroes and Golden Years are my particular favourites of his. He's still golden up in heaven Thanks for the memories Mr Bowie ❤ 😊
A role-model for young people of all ages.
I love how he makes the same exact hand motions he made during interviews back in the 70's.
David bowie is the best
Bowie is a legend. Hard to find anyone cooler overall at any age. Still quite do-able too. so glad that headline is misleading..hehe
And today he is 64, so now it is only six years until he is 70. Happy birthday, David.
Ah this is better everytime I watch it, he is just so funny lol
57 and still hot, Bowie is a legend!
His hair has always been amazing! It just looks so adorable! I can never decide if he is sexier with his blond hair or when he had the red hair. Either way I guess haha :)
I played guitar for David Bowie on the 'Buddha of Suburbia' album at Mountain Studios in Montreux 13 years ago. I learnt a lot from that session. But I do have a full head of hair.....
@Mr4Chanonymous: It's a bit confusing because they cut in on the conversation. He's actually 57 here (in 2004) and was talking about what it will be like to be 70.
Bowie is sharp as a razor, he's the man!
One of his rare studio based interviews and not to be seen promoting his new album for 2013
he is gorgeous !
David, you are still wonderful!!!
Thanks for the laughs re the toupe!!
Bowie is a survivor...I bet he will out-last most new musician today.
I thought so too, I was like "Not David Bowie! That man will outlive us all!!"
david bowie will ALWAYS be cool!!!!!!!
..there is a little bit of 'both' in all of us, and of course those who deny are fooling themselves. I first fell for David in 1972.
He is soooooooo handsome.......
This clip is from 2007 and Bowie says that he's 57 years old, which makes little sense since he was born in january 1947...
LEGEND
Such a class man
this guy was so good in the Prestige
I have been in love with DB all my life as he is the consimate preformer and simply HOT fanges and all....
he's awesome!
57? CRAFTASTIC!
décontraction,simplicité,humour garantis
it's something in the English Channel water...he never gets old. it's creepy in a lovely way.
@handyguy04 It would have to be 2004. He finished touring near the end of July that year.
You should change the title- I saw this and thought David Bowie had Parkinsons! Scared the crap out of me.
I fricken loved him in Labrynth!
He's fucking hilarious.
he.. um.. he's really amazing
if this is a 2007 vid it makes him 60, not 57. born in '47, correct?
hard to believe hes 5years older than clive james
change the title plz
He was in his 30 when he made that flim by god is still hot
I LUV YOU ZIGGY STARDUST !!!
I just noticed, RUclips -can- do stereo :) Listen to the audience
@Faeden I think you underestimate the ambition and the ability of this woman. No, she is not designing her own fashion items, but she is marketing them. Many want nothing else than be where she is but somehow they do not succeed. There are accounts of her ambition by childhood and school friends which are plain impressive. I don't like her music, I don't care about her fashion or her footballing husband. But I do know that success of that scale is not an accident.
Do any of you out there have a clue as to who was the sensitive guitarist with the lose hair piece?
he is beassssssssssssssst!!!!!
I thought just the same!
décontraction,humour,simplicité
He's actaully an alien... Documented in the movie (The "Man" Who Fell On Earth)
haha yeah I know what you mean! cuz actually when I first saw the title I thought it was like him admitting he had parkinsons disease now or something lol
I agree with the last comment, It shows how far we have fallen. I don't really dislike Victoria Beckham, but...make your own statement about the glaringly obvious...Bowie is godlike. and a human being. Victoria Beckham is...fill in obvious statement...the end. Peace!
and...
how old is he now?
somewhere near 80 isn't he?
@sasiku117 No! Bowie's not dead! (thankfully...) But he hasn't made a public appearence, annoucement or anything since 2006 though :( not that I can find, anyway...
@20manu08 he has no dentures, he had dental implants in the 90's.
I'm agood friend of Bowie and Ricky gervais.
WOHH! Change the title so it doesn't fool people MORE...
Bowie's in spaaace..
the peanut is not really a nut at all, it is actually a legume
David Bowie-sama-sensei-senpai-san- sama- KUN!
What shoes is Bowie wearing there?
@Grensoorlog I see, but don't worry, it doesn´t upset me, It´s funny for me too.
word.
TOUCH ME!
@Faeden I admit that I start feeling a bit silly defending her like that as I am not really interested in her at all... but she is clearly NOT a nobody as you claim. She is a world wide celibrity and icon whether we like it or not. She is a mult millionaire of her own making. She seems a competent mothery. And she is no ones puppet. I do not admire her but I find it pathetic to slack her off like that. Ask yourself why you get irate with her sharing the room with Bowie.
@Grensoorlog I don´t agree!
He is blonde!
Is that Victoria Beckham beside him?
Remember ,how in The man that fell to earth . He invents camaras you put into mailbox to get developed ?
@Faeden Totally agree!
Jareth not Jared.
This guy is my heroe !! :-P
Funny , intelligent , innovative , BRILLIANT !
Yeah , I'm a boy , and I'd marry him ANY TIME AT ALL !!!
(do I have to precise that I'm not gay ?)
Where's the rest of it? Woke up late?
@eslopeor oh no no no he's more like 65 NOW lol this interview was back in 2003 lol, however yes I would still marry him, and im 25! lol
Fancy !
of course
Yeeaah!!
No one said he was 70.
Why won't you age David Bowie?!?!
@iwouldliketobangyou lol, ikr, i used to fancy him, but only in labyrinth, I definitley wouldn't now
who is the touped bloke to whom Bowie refers??
what is it about bowie that gets all us straight guys hot for him
who do?
RIP
Not only is he a unique musical genius, he's also a laugh as well.
What a great man.
Thank you for this. I just turned 57 and have been a Bowie fan since Hunky Dory first appeared during the Second World War. Or was it ... Anyway, the way he describes thinking of the next gaggle of years ahead by imagining the same number going backwards is a perceptual trick I myself play. The bit about the toupee was quite good too.
Speaking on the subject of hair it would have been insanely amazing if he kept his Jareth hair cause that was amazing!!! Damn that was twenty some years ago and he still looks just as good! Bravo Bowie, Bravo!
Bowie, ahhh fascinating intelligent witty musical genius
David Bowie is a genius and super funny -3
what a brilliant start to my day - I'm rolling around laughing!
Love the man - the artist - the musician - xxx
So...Did he just out Sting for wearing a toupee? "Socially conscious" "pantomimes bass playing"
Love, love, love! He's still one of the coolest musicians ever - long may it go on ;o)
I would love to know who the guitarist with the flapping toupe was!
I love David Bowie, I would do anything to meet him! What a funny character.
Ah! So the beeb do think advertising is OK.
Good, let's get rid of the poxy license fee, never paid it,and never will.
@omnivorous65 So you think just because she has undeserved millions that makes her a worthy human being? You think I should respect her fame just because she got lucky and handed a career where she used no talent to get that fame? I am sorry but I respect talented people, I respect nurses and teachers, I respect people who invent cures for life destroying illnesses, I respect people who triumph over evil and oppression, I respect people who risk their lives to help or save others, not morons.
RIP David, you will be missed.
Yeah...like what has the land of Oz given us in the way of music....er..Kylie...Rolf Harris...Men at work? they even had to replace Hutchence with a bloke from a talent show for chrissakes.
A cigarette? or a bundle of sticks? Oh a homosexual.Geez coming from you thats a complement.
Have a great weekend !
He's hilarious! I'm so glad this video is still being shared. Thank you!
I totally did also I think thats quite deceptive.. or a good marketing strategy on BBCWorld's part.
