- Zachary Lucky - Sunroom Sessions VOL 7.
"Summer Wages" by Ian Tyson
Canadian songwriter Ian Tyson was best known for his years performing songs like "Four Strong Winds" with his Ian and Sylvia folk duo. His later catalogue is rich with Canadian country classics. This song always seems to come back around for me every summer.
Hopefully ya'll enjoy it as you soak up the last few weeks of summer.
Thanks for stopping in for volume 7 of the Sunroom Sessions!
Love it! Enjoy the more somber mood and slower tempo. Well done!
Great song and great job

Thanks Yusuf! Thanks for always stopping by and having a listen. Stay good.
When voice and fingerpicking just works. Oh and I notice a decent amount of crossover covers with another unique musician, fellow Canadian Colter Wall. Just an observation. Both y'all are absolutely amazing! Keep doing what you do sir!
Thanks so much. I think it's safe to say that within the folk and country realm there are songs that cut through all of the noise. It is always the good songs. Thats why folks like Colter and I like singin' em. I saw him perform this song this summer - and he does it in the fairly straight ahead Ian fashion. I truthfully learnt this from watching a Steve Earle video about ten years ago. He does it more straight, finger picky like this which is way more my style then the 3/4 waltz of Ian.
Appreciate you stopping by and listening!!
@@zacharylucky For what its worth and for all the love I have for Colter's music... I like your version a bit better ;) Your old d18 (at least that's what it looks like to me) sounds unbelievably warm.
@@angelicus07 there's a time and place for everything :)
Excellent! Would love to read a transcript of the lyrics though!
Search them up - Summer Wages by Ian Tyson. He is one of the greats.
