    Update: The wifi connection worked only first time (as shown in video), since that I couldn't do scanning over Wifi. Revopoint, please, we want back the cable connection, like with Range. There is no need for Wifi connection, short cable would be much better solution (only some kind of split cable for data/power is necessary)

      Today I found out that the scanner can be plugged in to the smartphone via usb-c cable and n wifi is required. Since I purchased it with the mobile kit, there is not only a powerbank and smartphone holder included, but also a USB-C to USB-A+C cable (three way - Y-cable) included. USB-A and USB-C goes into the Powerbank and (Android) Phone and the other side (USB-C) goes into the Scanner.
      I did not connect the Smartphone to the WiFi of the scanner and the app detected the cable connection (same phone, wich I was not able to connect to the app wirelessly).
      So, to answer the wish "Revopoint, please, we want back the cable connection": It is already possible with the right cable.

    Another excellent review. Thank you Igor.
    I like your comment that your hair is perfect for scanning - that means it would be for me too!

    Don't be so hard on yourself Igor. It is a shame you don't get more views, your reviews are top notch!

    I think this is the scanner I've been waiting for! Intermediate size is exactly right for the types of things I want to scan.

    I'd love to get a scanner, but the price is a bit high for a "toy" I wouldn't use very often.

      Where do you get that info? Its not on their website. They contacted me few months ago about it, but it was in development phase.

    Just One question, the software Prusa slicer can be used with other 3D printers?

    Amy scanners out there that work for scanning human bodies?

    Maybe I missed it in the video, does the software export a .stl file that can be imported directly into cad software like fusion360 or directly into slicer software? Or is some other translation software required?

    • @MyTechFun
      @MyTechFun  10 месяцев назад +1

      It expots stl, obj or ply (with jpg texture). CAD softwares likes Step files. But it can be converted.

    Where can we buy the scanner spray?

    3D scanners are, and will be way too expensive! When compared to the leaps photogrammetry is making, because of AI! They will become(as they already are) an professional only tool, and will be no different then the ones that already exist, with the same high prices. For personal use or non daily scanning, photogrammetry will be the future and it will be free, maybe except for software costs.

      You can get a Einstar for 1k. Less than a top end phone. Or a Einscan-SP for 2k.
      Everyone how is doing prototyping or repairs should have one. It makes the work way easier.
      I personally have a Einscan-SP and a Revopoint mini. The software for the mini is finally good with Software Version 5.
      Using scanning targets (printed pyramids or crumpled blue tape) the tracking is no issue too.
      Using scanning spray is mandatory for good scanning results in my opinion. Very rarely I can scan a object without it.
      I probably will buy the Einstar in the future for big objects too.

      @@Todestelzer Like i said, for pro's and business, it's useful, but privately nah, mostly people already have a phone and a high (enough)end camera is cheaper these days.And like i said with AI growing and camera's getting better and better, and even depth sensors and VR they will eventually become obsolete imo.

      Photogrammetry is junk, but sadly the real scanners are all way too expensive for no good reason. We need an open source one like a revival of the ciclop but with all the gratuitous problems fixed.

    • @daliasprints9798
      @daliasprints9798 10 месяцев назад

      @@TodestelzerThey should be about $100-150 for what they involve, not $1000 or $2000.

      @@daliasprints9798 Every time i use it it works! And it gets better and faster with each passing version. So yeah i'll take it instead of expensive scanners that give the same result with the same effort!
