He was a big part of the Razors Edge success, the young brothers should have kept Chris on for the Ballbreaker album! and maybe bring in Rudd for the next, but definitely should have let him do a follow up album!

No... he wasn't.. he was a hired drummer for 1 record and 1 tour not even close to their best record or tour...the band got their groove back when they got the back in black lineup back on the road, tne next 3 tours after razors edge were much better, the band had that swung pocket again.. Chris plays a very stiff staccato time and doesn't let things breath, he plays the hihat with no dynamics and his 4/4 has no swing to it.. on the razors edge tour he was often rushing the time and playing out in front of malcolm.. his drumming on the ill fated rock or bust thing speaks for itself, he couldn't even drive the band his tempos were erratic and he made tons of mistakes every night ..hes most of the reason they sounded bad on that tour... Phil is a way better time keeper and has a very deep pocket that really makes the band swing, that rythm section only works when its Malcolm Cliff and Phil...

When i found out that they had hired Slade in '89 it came as a surprise. Slade brought a more powerful style of drumming to AC/DC, but his drumming left a permanent mark on their catalog of songs with an all time great in 'Thunderstruck'. Great job Chris!

I consider myself a true AC/DC fan and because of that when I finished the interview I went straight to listen to the Razors Edge album and man, What a great album it really is. it has memorable songs, my favorite one is Are You ready ❤. Also for me it’s the album where you hear most clearly the guitar of Malcolm and that unique gretsch sound. As any album of the boys it’s impecable in everything. To me, the “rivalry” of AC/DC drummers and past members is nonsense. all of them have put something special and helped the boys make real their music. I loved when Chris said the songs are like pop played heavy😂 I would say it’s just good music ♥️

@@Archi_Music I think that producer Bruce Fairburn was a big reason for that album having such a great sound. And also Malcolm was clean and sober for the album. During the 'Blow Up Your Video' sessions Angus had actually picked up about 70% of the guitar duties due to Malcolms problems with alcohol and eventual stint in rehab. Thank goodness he got cleaned up.

@@deanladue5367 I agree, production of the album was superb. I didn’t know that Angus had covered Malcolm in the Blow up your Video album. It would be interesting to know in which song only Angus recorded. From that album I like a lot Ruff Stuff, that one reminds me a lot of Malcolm.

@@Archi_Music on the 2009 box set 'Backtracks', it contains 3 songs that were outtakes from the sessions. And it's very evident that Malcolm was on only 1 of those tracks. He had a unique style of rhythm guitar that was super tight with the drums and bass.

AC/DC right now on there current tour!! Brian’s voice is off and backline isn’t like the original guys !! I’m sorry to say but AC/DC should go back to pub gigs than stadiums!! The atmosphere what I last saw on RUclips the crowd looked bored!! Angus looks like he’s trying to get the crowd going!! The band isn’t like the original line up !! Malcolm guitar is so much needed!! Yes he was a genius !! Malcolm was AC/DC
Now there just another band that should retire and leave it alone!! Axle rose did a better job than Brian specially with Brian’s vocals!!! I love AC/DC I have since early 80’s but some bands who have bad moments with band members!! It’s sad to say about any bands that we all love and support!! If you don’t believe me search AC/DC new gigs 2024 and listen and watch how sad to see your fav band or bands are sounding like crap etc ! ❤

Most of the European crowds, and this meant as no form of disrespect, tend to be a bit more laid back at a rock concert. I guarantee you if AC/DC toured South America and the Far East, the crowds would be going bonkers from start to finish.

I was at Wembley last week and believe me they were electric, the atmosphere was immense and the rhythm section has been a phenomenal replacement. Age and time gets us all but ACDC are doing fantastic to keep up the quality and the pace despite age and loss. I get to see them again in Paris and I am sooo fucking excited
