Hey Steve, your one of the few who take the time to reply to comments. I guess time on the river is many things, the adventure, the wildlife (koalas, kangaroos emus, plusthe occasional snake lol). Then there's the cooking, tho this time I'm experimenting with home made 24hr mres including vacuum packed bread. Then there's the companionship, but at the sametime the aloneness. Just great to get away, although retired, I volunteer at an animal shelter, although Im in maintenance I spend a lot of time with some badly neglected horses, some of
which don't have a great outcome can be fairly draining emotionally

I'm with Wendy, the camping format is great, too. It's a nice addition, but not critical to your already great content, Steve.

lots more of the kayak camping please, love to see your gear and ideas, food etc. my friend and I both in our late 60s, are about to set off on another weeklong trip, wild camping/kayak touring trip on the Murray river Australia. we did approx. 200ks in February and hoping to do another 150 or so this time, next year's trip looks like having to be 250k+ river distance due to accessibility. We are going to keep doing sections at a time, health permitting until we've done it all/ the sections we want to do, about 1500 river kilometers

The videos get better and better. The drone shots really break it up and make it interesting. I love the camping, you get to see places you couldn't get to on a day trip and there's not that urgent rush to get somewhere. The sunsets are great, the skies at night are magical. The smaller drybags make it so much easier to utilize the available space in the hull. I did laugh when I saw the mosquitoes queue for a bite. That horsefly in the beginning was like a golf ball with wings!

That's for the support, Phil. It was fun to make this episode and I'm glad it resonated with you. There are a few shots where you can really see the mosquitos mounting their attack! HA. Particularly, on the back of my hat when I was making dinner. Yikes. And when that horsefly rammed into me it felt like someone threw a piece of paper at my head.

What brand waterproof socks do you like?

I only have Sealskinz. A thinner pair for the Summer and a thicker pair for colder temperatures. I find they run a tiny bit small. But they work great.
