Hi Eric is it possible to upload existing point data to Field Maps

How does the GNSS receiver communicate with your smart phone with its collected location information? Bluetooth? Pretty slick if so.

Hey Mark! It does use Bluetooth to pass information to the mobile device. Turn on the receiver, turn on the app on your iOS/Android device, and pair them together. For supported GPS/GNSS receivers and instructions, look here: doc.arcgis.com/en/field-maps/android/help/high-accuracy-data-collection.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_612D328A655644DCAF5CF0210308C821

    Hi Eric,
How did you do to show in the Pop Up the information of the distance to the nearest Field Crews. (Min 4:32)
    Thank you.
    Francisco.

Hi Francisco, thanks for directing me here from my other video. The ability to have the distance to nearest field crews requires two things: (1) knowing the real-time locations of your field crews with the location tracking functionality of ArcGIS Tracker/Field Maps, and (2) an arcade expression that compares the locations of your crews to the "incident" (in this case it was the main break). Location tracking comes with the Field Worker user type or through purchasing the add on Tracker license. The arcade expression that I used came from this web map: www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=58291e9bde774bd1a17f1f877a60fc0e&extent=-180,-40.0444,-21.9727,63.3127
Click "Modify Map" and then open the Pop-up configuration for the earthquakes layer. There is an Arcade Expression called "Nearby Cities." It compares the earthquake location to nearby cities. Copy the code to your web map and replace the layers and attributes as needed to fit your needs. For me, I replaced the cities with field crews, and instead of the city's names, I show the field worker's name. Also, you'll see that you can change the buffer distance that the computer will look for nearby features. I set mine to be 3 miles, so update that as you see fit. It looks like a lot of code (it is!) but it's pretty easy to read and manipulate. I'm TERRIBLE at coding but managed to update this code to work. I hope this helps!

Hi Eric, can you still send a field work request through Dashboard or do you have to see the distance then decide which person to contact? Or can you integrate ArcGIS Workforce with field maps so that a request sent from Workforce can be received in field maps? Thank you!

Hi Y. Peng! ArcGIS Workforce is still it's own separate app (web app for dispatchers, mobile app for field crews). However, that should be changing later this year; Workforce will be integrated into ArcGIS FieldMaps. FieldMaps will allow a dispatcher to create tasks and send them out to field workers within this one application rather than individual apps. This is an older blog, but it outlines the FieldMaps long term strategy: www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/apps/field-mobility/introducing-arcgis-field-maps/
On a different note, Dashboards can't directly be used to create assignments, however, the web app used by Workforce to create assignments can be embedded into Dashboards. I've seen users do this with great success! You can see a demo of it here (at about the 20 minute mark): community.esri.com/t5/water-utilities-videos/field-operations-webinar-series-part-1-inspections-and/td-p/976566

How do I set up the related records for an existing map? Thank you!

Hey Claire! Check out my Esri RUclips series that walks you through how to set up related tables, publish them to ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, and access it in Field Maps. It's easy and highly repeatable. It does require an ArcGIS Pro Standard license.
If you want to go the extra mile, there are also videos about monitoring inspection progress in dashboards too (plus a bunch of other helpful tips and tricks).
