      I've never known a Ranger to leave Regiment to join the Marines, but I have known quite a few Marines that left the Corps to get a shot at joining the Regiment. They all had the same reasoning behind making the switch... they were tired of being put on a cordon around villages only to watch Rangers go in to actually do the fighting they thought they had signed up for. This isn't to discredit the Marines in anyway as I would take them any day over Army infantry.

    Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers.
    Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite Soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other Soldier.
    Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some.
    Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained Soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
    Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.
    Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.
    Rangers lead the way!

      Yeah and he said it had nothing to do with hating our “freedom”, otherwise he would have attacked the Netherlands (his words, not mine). He hates America because we are a bunch of oppressive imperialists who prop up oppressive apartheid governments that hurt and exploit millions all over the world.

      @A[\]*%3v\/陈 AQ was formed from former Muj operators from the 80s, yknow when the US was in a proxy "conflict" with Russia? The CIA trained Afghan militants to wage a war with Russian invaders on the premise that the US would help those people, they didnt. Bin Laden was one of those Muj operators and as such had a hatred for America.
      The United States by no means is a moral country. I don't indulge myself in conspiracy theories as most of them hold no weight.
      I dont understand the point you were trying to make about FDR and Pearl Harbor? The Japanese viewed the US base at Pearl Harbor as the only thing stopping them from taking over the entire Pacific so they launched a surprise attack on that infamous day, December 7th, 1941. It had nothing to do with wanting to recruit people into the military.

      Rangers weren't designed to fight "empires". They are very proficient at what they were designed to do and have adapted themselves very well into other roles and capabilities, but fighting large infantry units head on is not a core capability.

    • @leeglaser9042
      @leeglaser9042 5 лет назад +4

      @Liv N Not quite. The Rangers in the video are deemed "modern day Rangers" which weren't activated until the early 1980s. While the historical Ranger units dating back the American Revolution (and even Colonial times if you want to go that far back) do play into the history of modern day Rangers they technically aren't the same due to the disbandment throughout their history. Whether you want to admit it or not, even the Marines have had their own losses. If I'm not mistake they surrendered twice in WWII and retreated... I mean, tactically withdrew to regroup a few times as well just to avoid defeat. To try discrediting any military unit due to a loss in history means you can discredit just about all of them. As mentioned before, Rangers weren't designed to be a large unit that goes head-to-head with larger infantry units.
