Don't know if you got scammed honestly (at least intentionally). Either that, or it was a really really dumb scammer. It's not a good investment to pay someone in the hopes of receiving sympathy, at which point you'd just lose your investment. He could try that trick 10 more times and not get a bite, and then he's lost all the money he gained, also deleting his accs and taking the website down, he clearly failed. Lets say he got 2 sales every 10 coaches he hired, that's £40 invested, say £80 made, so total £40. For the amount of time he's spent talking to you and building repertoire, that's what 10 hours of work for £40, not much I'd do for £4/hr. Also how many coaches are there, I guess anyone he can get his hands on really, but assuming it's merch for gaming, yeah just difficult to get the market. Only red flag is the 'buy 2, get a discount', as it's a sales tactic, so like why would they do that, if he liked you he'd just give a discount code. Also the whole speel about it being 100% cotton and stuff. Perhaps he thought the designs he had could easily be manufactured and shipped, but that's a lot harder to setup than you'd think, so he marketed the product before building it, and then realising the cost, noticed he'd make very little money, or not had the money to start anyway. Who knows. Either way as you say, probably a bad idea to send money to a stranger haha.
Yeah i think it was more of a side hustle for him. He seemed genuine and he helped me out with my first sale so i wanted to help him out with his first sale. Also the quality in product is different i was buying 2 t-shirts that looked genuinely fire so i didnt rly mind as i needed some t shirts anyway. I saw it as a win win but yeah his scamming tactic is not like a viable livable scam, i think he was just getting some extra cash from it :)
