- The last portion of the Finch West LRT that I haven't visited in the last year. I walk from Pearldale to the Maintenance and Service Facility to check on the latest progress.
It's becoming a wee race between Finch West and Crosstown to see which is in service first. Fun stuff.
As always, please appreciate that, when I shoot these videos, I do some preliminary research, but I call it as I see it unscripted so there will be inaccuracies that I try to check later.

I remember when much of this was farmland, so this video is blowing me away.
Hope you are right about summer opening. From what you have shown it looks possible 🤞
I think so.
The runoured date for crosstown is dec31 2024, but looks like Finch west is definitely opening first now. Heck Hurontario LRT may even open up after crosstown (though not likely)
Hadn't heard that but I'd be surprised if it took that long but....
I heard Hurontario is SUPPOSED to open by end of 2024. EIther way, I think both Hurontario and Finch will open before Crosstown!!
Finch West will be first.
Crosstown is still installing transformers.
The north west corner of Eglinton and Victoria Park just had a cement base for another transformer poured as they found out that one more was needed.
Interesting. Doesn't sound like that would be too difficult though.
On the inside thYOnge and Eglington is still a big gaping hole na it will be several months before that is resolved.
no doubt it will open first...... Crosstown is cursed.
Haha, we'll see soon I hope
Future subway lines that haven't even been thought up yet will open before the Eglinton Crosstown line.
Great video. I would say Finch West LRT would open first.
Thanks, I'm still on the fence
Another great video thanks so much for doing it.
No problem 👍
looks awesome, cant wait to ride it :D
Same here!
Thanks!
Glad you liked it
The stations look underwhelming considering the snow wind n rain.. they shoulda had two cubicles with windows on all sides.. to hold some people inside in rain n snow
Yea, I think this is going to develop over time. Those windy snow storms will at least need lateral sheltering I reckon.
@@grammin yeahh and I would ideally have heating rods at the top that could be turned on when it detects someone is there.. and sliding door tht can open n shut easily to keep the winds out 🙏🙏
Kennedy Station Now has a large T graphic Logo on the new entrance building as well.
Metrolinx new wayfinding standards. I quite like it but many don’t
I need it finished by May 1st so I take the tram and bike from Humber College around Brampton and Vaughan
Good video. Keep going. Maybe do another section update. Love to see these walk throughs of pgrogress
Thanks so much for the comment, there are some recents I have done for other areas of Finch LRT on the channel, hint hint!
When people at Jane and Finch see his mug going along they will be reminded that they are in a dangerous neighborhood.
Haha, especially on Tuesday night!
At this rate Finch LRT will be done before Eglinton Crosstown. Unbelievable!
Let’s just hope at this point that they are both running soon!
Finch West is going to open before Crosstown. Dougie wants to impress his nephew’s constituents. /s
Yea seems to be a popular opinion
great video! Will there be bike lanes throughout the whole line?
Certainly a lot of the line. I’ve biked some sections from the west approaching Cedarvale/ Eglinton west and there’s some question marks. There are other who may comment better. In the east, out of the tunnels it’s very “stroady” so there should be room.
Yes the Finch line will beat the crosstown to the punch. The Eglington line has turned out to be a disaster and won't open anytime soon.
You might be right, Metrolinx should be updating us on Crosstown this week as they promised two months ago.
So when giving directions that involve taking an LRT do we now say catch the T at Pearldale.....? I was hoping they would go with T. since it's a reference to Toronto! 🤣 They missed a real branding opportunity there!
It’s quite controversial in some circles.
@@grammin I stil like the idea of calling it the T-dot!
This will be open before the money pit...I mean Crosstown.
Like I said to others, I'm still on the fence on this.
Crosstown is a collection of bad choices, and the experience from it is the reason why Finch West will open first.
There is a level of distrust between Metrolinx and Crosslinx so I think that's why Crosstown is going to be scrutinized to death before they pass it for service. That might add a few months, or maybe that's what we are seeing right now with the 2 month updates.
These are stations for poor people they dont get shelter😂
Trains will be frequent.
crosstown will not open until 2030
Aw! I’d like to see it open next year. Can’t imagine why it won’t now. Trains are back running. Once Eglinton works are done they should be home free.
@@grammin They have already announced that it wont be open till at least 2025 and they are not prepared to guarantee even that year and that is coming form the head of metrolinx.
Ugly black platforms for an ugly grey part of the city. Boring, brutalist, depressing design is alive and well in Canada. At least the Crosstown, by contrast, has bright starion architecture and design.
I would agree that Toronto lacks some colour and vibrancy in general.
