The Impossible HIPFLASK Puzzle - Hardest Puzzle in 2020?

- You might remember the Titan Puzzle. For me definitely the hardest puzzle I solved during 2019. The Hipflask Puzzle that was released recently is the second design on Felix Ure from the UK. I am excited about trying it but also a bit afraid of how long it will take me. 3.., 2.., 1.., FIGHT!

Well done Mr Puzzle, great solve and great video! The pin was originally steel, but one hard twist with the steel pin made the steel dent the edges of the brass maze, expanding the brass enough to cause the central piece to stick. The plastic is PEEK, so it's very strong, I can't break it if I try - the warning on the card was just an added precaution 😁

Good lord that hello intro was enthusiastic Mr Puzzle. I had to stop the video and go get a coffee you scared me.
But. I love this puzzle. I like mazes anyway but the simplicity but difficulty is awesome. There is something about well-machined items that just make me feel satisfied. Everything is okay in the world because someone machined that lid perfectly.

Your Intros are getting better and better.
The pin is probably nonmetallic to prevent it from making a "give-away" sound when it strikes the center maze part.
Great puzzle, too bad you can't actually put any Kirsch in it! lol

It makes me happy that, after all this time, Mr.Puzzle still sounds so excited about solving a new puzzle in the intro.

I have never watched Titan but after seeing how impressive this puzzle was I am off too see why it took you 10 hours to solve.

I love your channel, but can I ask why you add the word 'impossible' to so many video descriptions, since it seems there's no such puzzle (at least, for you)? ;)
Minor clickbait, but for the average person who has limited experience with puzzles, these would be nearly impossible to solve.
Keep in mind Mr.Puzzle is an expert level puzzler and a highly trained engineer to boot, so his skill level for something like this far exceeds that of the average person.
Dargonhuman damn right, i have never in my life solved a puzzle cube and i really admire the people who can do it. I’d never ever have neither the patience nor the skills to do any puzzle.
Yes I think it's overdone, and unnecessarily clickbaity - only two or three puzzles I've seen deserve the title like the Titan imo.

The Giraffe puzzle was hilarious, but my first favorite puzzle was The Radbox. The puzzle box you solved with the leaf on it.

Definitely the Titan. The hip flaks is a great puzzle, but too expensive for an ‘easy’ solution where the only really difficult part is figuring out what to do with the two pins. For this price I would have expected more steps to remove the lid. I also love how simply the Titan looks, it is just a sphere and that’s it.
Mr.Puzzle well I have to go with the hard one. It’s even more satisfying to watch you solve the difficult ones. The giraffe will always be #1. But when the note pad comes out and the X-ray vision starts-always a great video!

When you mentioned the titan puzzle I went back to see how long it's been. Didn't feel too long ago, but then again I didn't feel E13 was that long ago and that was like 3 years ago! Where has the time gone...

This is a really phenomenal puzzle. It looks simple on the outside, but it's very complex on the inside.

So this is in effect a combination lock with no numbers, but instead of lining up the tumblers, you line up the cylinder with the one pin. Very cleve indeed.
he takes FOREVER to do the puzzle and keep explaining things. don't try to understand just do the dang puzzle already!

You should really get into locks, taking them apart, and lockpicking. It is very similar to some of the puzzles you solve, and challenges the same parts of your mind.

I had a feeling it was going to be a twisty maze, but not one with a pin that falls into recesses to make you start again, I like the way there’s extra “steps” to removing it completely too.

Perhaps the little pin is plastic to prevent removing it with a magnet. Just a thought.
There are plenty of non magnetic metals that would to the job I think.

Another great vid mr. Puzzle. What I wanna know is how in the hell do people come up with puzzles like these? Solving them is one thing. There is at least something that exists in your hand. Not that it's easy, but coming up with the actual puzzle out of thin air really blows my mind.

I suspect the lightweight plastic pin prevents a banging attack, where you pull on the lid while firmly banging the body of the puzzle on the table. If it were heavier steel, it would be quicker to bump the puzzle open than going through all the twisting. Having seen you bang puzzles more than once, this seems like a reasonable precaution.

@@Mr.Puzzle Du solltest daraus ein Wettkampf machen zb. gegen Chris Ramsey. Jeder bekommt das selbe, unbekannte Puzzel und der der es am schnellsten gelöst hat gewinnt, aber natürlich so das man beim Gegner nichts sieht und abschauen kann,oder mit einem Zeitlimit . Das ganze dann noch live ,das wäre cool zu sehen

I absolutely LOVE how you used your ring as a stand for the Titan in the intros.
Does the pin being plastic increase the difficulty? It seems like it might decrease tactile feedback; causing you to relay on trial an error more, and less by feel.

Every time you put the word "impossible" in the video title, I think to myself: "if it would be impossible you couldn't show us the solution..."
Something can be impossible to intuit, even if a solution exists and can be shown. I recall one stupid thing that was some kinda multi-stage clock/safe/phone monstrosity (Ramsey did it, maybe?) and it came with a solution guide but there was genuinely no way anyone could figure it out on their own.
