I have just acquired my own Bernina 802 Sport and it's a wonderful machine. It's all mechanical so no circuit boards to fry. My mother bought a Bernina 730 back in the 60s and taught all her sons how to sew. I'm very grateful to her for that. She also taught us knitting. We learnt pig-hunting, fishing, tree-felling, building, horticulture and agriculture from our father so, don't fret, we grew up as red-blooded men - who could sew and knit. That's the gift of having loving mentors. 😇

I am very glad, everyone would have such parents, especially in our time ... peace and goodness to you
I have a Bernina 801, which is quite similar. I love it, more that my Janome QDC fancy machine. It makes the most beautiful and precise stitches.
