Adrian Negreanu I like puzzle games portal 1 and 2 were great but not puzzles in a game in fallout 4 i also like the building bases but i dint like the two combined idk
This quest was possibly the most tedious thing I've ever experienced in any Fallout game. The puzzles aren't even _difficult_, they're just annoying. The main problem stems from the clunky construction system which isn't designed for dealing with hundreds of fiddly block placements, and the fact that some dev over at Bethesda apparently hates all of us. They should've made this sequence similar to Kellogg's memories, but with some unique hacking minigames to unlock additional info if you felt like it.
Trying to move and place the blocks is incredibly tedious. I love puzzles and puzzle games but clunky controls made this frustrating. It also doesn't feel like something that fits a Fallout game. I agree that hacking would have been a better alternative.
i absolutely HATED this quest!!! after spending 4 hours on all the puzzles i got completely stumped on the last one so THANK YOU for doing this tutorial...right away i can see what my first mistake was!! it is actually pretty simple as soon as you knock down that first red grid... still..... i hated this part of the quest
Fallout 4 meets Minecraft in a disgusting display of vibrant monotones of color that will give you a headache in the first 5 minutes and make your eyes bleed in the next 10-20 minutes you spend trying to finish it. This quest really showcases the horrible workshop controls.Don't jump while standing near a block because you will bonk your head somehow. I'm thankful falling didn't restart each memory but the loading screen was completely unnecessary on respawn. This part simply was not enjoyable and ruins a lot of the immersion and any desire to play this DLC again.
I Was at the end of memory 5 and then I fell from not being able to place the blocks next to each other and then the whole game Froze on the loading screen and I had to restart my ps4 and do the WHOLE thing over again from the first memory 🙂🙂🙂 I literally became a spastic bubbling from the mouth making sounds of a possessed girl, eyes wide open and my neck creaking like the grudges laying in my bed shaking my head and thinking of suicide. That's just Everything I Want from my 50 euro season pass DLC!!
It's part of the illuminati plan, in the future people will be forced to work in virtual reality on these types of puzzles. Wake up. Seriously though, bit of a portal ripoff, kind of annoying.
Not going to watch it, due to already having done this idiotic and extremely annoying mission, however I will like it so more people won't have to suffer this 'mission'. Good work on the guide anyway man!
Thank you for making videos like this. I think that I can speak for the rest of the community that stuff like this is a little bit overwhelming, and tutorials like this really help.
This is the only part of the game i ever cheated on, the bright textures of the code blocks LITERALLY gave me a headache.. Couldn't deal with that just for a stupid puzzle.
I'd just like to say, thank you so much. Liked and subbed, I was watching Oxhorn's but he keeps skipping and you actually do the whole thing with us, I was stuck on the very last part of level 5 and you helped me out so much.
I'd like to say, personally, from the bottom of my weary soul: thank you for this tutorial. The entire system of building and construction and object manipulation in this game really bogs it down, although I may be biased, coming from New Vegas, where all you have to do is press z if the thing is small/light enough. Throughout my entire experience, I couldn't help but compare it to Minecraft. Minecraft, if it were less intuitive. Minecraft, if you had to spin blocks a certain way, which you sometimes might have to but mostly for aesthetics, not essential like this. Minecraft, with the claustrophobia of something like old System Shock 2, without the charm and dread of meeting overpowered enemies. Fallout 4 in general has been near torturous for me. For all the things I enjoy, there's at least a 5:1 ratio of things I don't. It drives me insane that even in the DLC touted as the best in the entire game, you have something that, inevitably, will put to pause anyone's decision to replay it. People often say the hacking in Bioshock 1 really bogged down that game, took them out of it, made the experience a little less immersive than they would like. I love Bioshock 1 hacking. I would take an hour of Bioshock 1 hacking over 5 seconds of this. Anything but this.
you were doing fine untill the very end and you seemed like you were in a hurry to just finish this vid and really got choppy where you were sending the last beam over.
It's so funny coming to a guide to see what others thought because while all 5 sims took me around two hours, I actually had loads of fun with this quest. I wonder if I'm the only one
if you look at the finish point its on the left part on the far top... took like 40 min till i found it -.- but i think you guys should have done it by now
+Ethan Pozsgai Said the exact same, the first 4 are really common sense, but the second it added all the different routes and islands to go to, I was lost.
I spent all night doing this stupid puzzle, and at about the 24 minute mark of your video, right at the end, my game froze and I had to start from the beginning aka throwing this game in the trash
Thanks for this. *like* What a miserable experience these puzzles are. Completely wretched. Easily the least amount of fun I've ever had playing a video game, and I played Superman 64 (circa 1999). That's multiple hours of my life I'll never get back. Does Todd know people like to have fun playing video games?
I really wished you would have edited out your mistake because it confused me to the point where I was taking 2 hours trying to figure it out then got majorly pissed and I still don't have it completed. :/
this part of teh story was so tedious and boringly long that i had to go outside quicksave and kill some people a few times. I Hate hate hate this part for its unfallouty feeling, why give me turrets when i can pull out my newly gained lever action rifle and blast the floated ball bastards...

Ah, now I see why I've had such trouble with the 3rd one. I didn't realize you could go behind the 'walls' and climb up there, I somehow just assumed there was nothing but open space back there so I spent almost 30 min. trying to get the re-director block positioned and it just wasn't possible to do because you can't get up high enough since there are stationary blocks in the way;. You can climb to a certain point which would be high enough if it wasn't because there are blocks right above your head so you can't see and position the re-director. I saw no other option but to try and keep trying but eventually realized there had to be something I've overlooked. And there surely is. lol Thanks a lot for taking the time to make this tutorial. .......... NB. I also want to commend you on having done a great job of explaining how the puzzle works, I'm sure that because of that even more people find this video very helpful.
I got all the way to 5 and I got about half of the puzzle right, I was just tired of the mission in general. Thank u for making this guide, it helped me wrap up the loose ends of level 5.I would have been roaming around forever if u hadn’t made this.
You are a legend !!!!! I missed the conduit on the top left and was pulling my hair out on this. Puzzle 1 touch your nose p2 touch your cheek etc puzzle 5 do algebra !!! Agree with everyone this is so tedious

lazy attempt of a puzzle, I don't know what shit they were thinking
yes
puzzles and shooting games don't go well together. like this shit
Anyone else wondering wtf was going on with bethesda employees brain when creating this shit?
i think they just forgot to make a part of the game so we have to program it
Sentinel Triston Ive actually found it enjoyable, until the last level, then it was just annoying.
Adrian Negreanu I like puzzle games portal 1 and 2 were great but not puzzles in a game in fallout 4 i also like the building bases but i dint like the two combined idk

least favorite part of any fallout game
agreed, interesting, but annoying
it's my least favorite because it's glitches won't let me get past 80% on ps4, and I only have 4 turrets.. wtf Bethesda!!!!!
Amen. Why couldn't you of just stuck with 3 memories Bethesda!!! T-T
Play the first two fallout games your opinion will definitely change bro
Yes
This quest was possibly the most tedious thing I've ever experienced in any Fallout game.

Liesmith
Bro YOU should be working at Bethesda. This is so much better than what we actually got.
Liesmith yeah if I wanted to pay for a puzzle I’d get Tetris
Trying to move and place the blocks is incredibly tedious. I love puzzles and puzzle games but clunky controls made this frustrating. It also doesn't feel like something that fits a Fallout game. I agree that hacking would have been a better alternative.
Exactly would have loved to see memories of Nick/DiMA at the Institute but sadly DiMAs thinks mostly in data. D:
And what makes it worse, my turrets won't attack these Bots so I can't even continue
I hated this quest
me too
15 mins all of them
Bruce Wayne so did i
Same i dont have even close to the hacking level required and nick valentine is not able to hack faradays terminal I've tried 5 times now.
I was on it for like 2 hours until i gave up and looked it up
if I wanted to be a smart boy and solve puzzles I wouldn't have played fallout. hated this quest. 0/10
exactly what i feel
I told the brotherhood just because of this mission
cole k I'm doing the same.e now
Hilarious
was 100% siding w/ institute but now it is brotherhood of steel
Lmao
Damn I destroyed the the brother hood
They should NEVER make a puzzle game...
hairypancake I hate puzzles so fucking much
I actually love puzzles. These were not good puzzles.
hairypancake its not even a puzzel game. the puzzles are easy, its the location of the cubes that are a fucking nightmare
This puzzle will be the first thing I see in hell
mreehhh Rogers I saw it in hell its a fucking nightmare
Lol
@@johnlowden5895 7YRS have been waiting for you to find out you can do DLC in VR, it's 10x worse in VR where i am right now
This was the most stressful thing I've ever done! Level 5 was a fucking pain in the ass! So happy it's done! Worst quest EVER on the Fallout series.
cant agree more
better than dead Money?
+NineTailsFox Kyuubi no
dead money was easier
Oh my fucking gosh yes. I hated it lol

........the puzzles took you FOUR hours? 🤣🤣
Really? Last one took me 15 minutes literally, and i didn't even use the guide for it.
Randomly cutting the clip and just saying right there isn't a big help
it's awful
that really pissed me off cuz i was doing it step by step

I blew up the nucleus so I'd never have to see this puzzle terminal again.
This by far the best comment Holy cow yes I agree 😂😂😂

the little bugs for me won't fucking move
Cody Greene im having the same problem!
You have to reload your game with a save from before you started the puzzle
Cody Greene You have to build wide bridges and nudge them to get them to move.
I found them to be less buggy when I made thinner bridges. I started off thinking wide would be better and it wasnt.
Seth Dunn That's weird. It worked for me.
HOLY CRAP I THOUGH VIDEO GAMES WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FUN!
Bethesda probably thought this was the best idea they ever came up with. I never hated playing fallout so much.
this was officially the worst sequence I have ever played in any video game. I never thought fallout 4 would acquire that incredible feet.

Strange, I thought this was a Fallout game, not Portal. This quest nearly drove me insane. Is there any way to avoid it and still beat the Far Harbor?
I don't think so

If you are part of the brotherhood you can.... Just kill the synths. ;)
There's a mod which gets rid of it entirely.
I knew I should of picked brotherhood instead of railroad.
This is the worst quest in this game so far and I'm level 34.
nothing else in the game even gets close to the awefulness of this mission, lol. so dont worry about it! XD

Too many cuts. Totally ruins continuity and throws everything off
