I have so much respect for these athletes because an Olympic marathon is one of the most difficult races on the entire schedule. Its not about coming first or last it's about finishing the whole race.

The whole race ,from the start to finish, was under control by Kitanny and Gelana . Especially Gelana was defending each attack by Lagat, Jeptoo , Kittany and Archipova The come back of Archipova is a big surprise. Gelanas strategy dropping the Kenyans one by one worked very well . She defended the last push by Kitanny .She made it with a final and devastating push to settle with Jeptoo of Kenya.

After two hours and twenty minutes the commentators finally go of the wall. Forgetting the alphabet, narrating a conversation between athletes that didn't happen.

@@peterpietrzak1253 Well, it's true that in recent years Russia has been found guilty of systemic doping and/or cover ups, but I don't think this means that every Russian athlete going back in every Olympics should be assumed to have cheated. Also, the Olympics does its own drug testing, and even when Russia as a country has gotten banned, individual Russian athletes are still allowed to compete.
