For y'all saying "Christmas doesnt feel/hit the same." It's true. When we were kids, we didn't put much thought into it. Sure we beleived in Santa, and it was a simpler time, the Christmas magic was given to us. As we aged, we had to spend, hand that magic down, and try to 1 up each time from last year. Growing up is not fun like we imagined, but we can still make it a great one for our family, friends, and loved ones. See yall back in 365 days

I’m Venezuelan and when I migrated to NYC from my hometown Caracas by the end of November 2018, almost Christmas time, it sucked a lot to see everybody around me with their families while I was all alone. The details in this video just made my heart melt and I even laugh at the fact that you indeed leave your big house in Venezuela for a tiny little space in NYC.

My dear boyfriend is from Venezuela and he and his family had to leave it like many others. I'm not Venezuelan myself but I know the struggle and hardships of Venezuelan people and it breaks my heart everyday. Im literally tearing up hearing this song. It reminds me of Christmas around my childhood and how it actually felt like Christmas back then. All the Christmas parties at school, exchanging of gifts, believing in Santa, Christmas movie marathons, all that good stuff…It physically pains me that I won’t get to experience that again 😞

As a Venezuelan living abroad, Christmas time is one of the toughest one of the year, being away from family and friends it's very hard for many of us, in my case my family is scattered around the globe, I've missed so many family events from weddings to funerals, so for us to have a x-mas dinner with all of our love ones in one table is very hard almost a miracle. Thank you so much for this amazing video!

My dad passed away a few weeks ago. I saw this music video last week for the first time. It brought me to tears because his name is Juan, and he loved Frank Sinatra. He traveled away from Mexico for a better life in the USA. He met my mom in december, and his most favorite holiday was Christmas. He loved to watch those light-hearted, campy christmas movies. he had a dream to open his own restaurant after retirement, and go to another country and name it after the beautiful city of Chicago, windy city. Just like this video, my whole family cried on the similarities. Thank you, Frank Sinatra, and I love you, dad.

My family is also migrants from Mexico. My grandpa used to sell bread on a donkey when he was little. They came here to the US for a better life. They had children, and then those children grew up, and my mom was one of those children, and then my mom married my dad who is also Mexican and had me.

FYI: This video is about the migration wave that our country Venezuela has been through the recent years; and obviously all those who had to leave their country looking for a better life. The floor of the airport is the floor of Simón Bolivar International Airport, created by Venezuelan plastic artist Carlos Cruz Diez (as the credits says). Then it features the City of Caracas and El Avila mountain 💛 then through the video we can see some traditional Venezuelan food such as Hallacas and Arepas 💙

I can’t stop crying guys. You guys don’t understand yet how much this means for us Venezuelans all over the world. Christmas is the most meaningful celebration in Venezuela. And being so far away from our family, from our home, from our traditions, gives us a feeling of sadness that lasts for a few months. Guys, with all my respect for refugees...this song is so old, it has nothing to do with all kind of crises that globalization and greed for money/power created....I used to listen to it so many decades ago with my dear ones and it's still a fantastic song...Everybody finds in it something special, relative to his/her life and destiny....Because it's classics with the highest moral and esthetical standards, something that we lost during globalization, during the battle for profit and power..., we all find in it appeals to our souls and destiny. And our voices, voices of normal people, not millionairs, became not important at a certain moment. We should make things come back to normal again!

Frank Sinatra was my Papa's favorite. And Papa had a singing voice like no other. I lost him recently and I can't stop crying. So many memories of Christmas that I'll never have with him again. But I'll try to remember all the amazing ones we shared. I love you Papa 💔

I came here for the Sinatra song and ended finding a 1-derful piece of animated art commemorating the endless search for happiness of those who have to leave their places of birth and build a home somewhere else. Didn't get the Venezuelan origin until the deliciosas arepas appeared (¡ me encantan !). Visited that lovely country in the 70s, since then a lot of things have changed except the love we have for our hermanos venezolanos. So to start with, the biggest my family ever was was while i was living was my great grandma (she was to me what you think of when you think of having a grandma, Christmas cookies, watching Golden Girls and I love Lucy, plus she watched all my kid stuff, putting up the Christmas village, the tree, making fancy ornaments, playing checkers, shopping, we spent a LOT of time together as my mom worked a lot as a single mom and we were just the apple of each other's eyes and i was like a little adult when i was a child, so she could take me anywhere, do anything with me, she taught me to read before i ever even got in kindergarten, she was amazing, i was her only great grandchild and my great grandfather passed when i was 4 (who i FOUND DEAD btw, but i don't think i quite understood at the time so it didn't traumatize me, but i remember it VIVIDLY) and she never dated again or anything, so i was her company and she was my stability and comfort and the only person whose ever SHOWN me true love in the family, (even though i know my mom/grandma loves/loved me, they're just...different) she passed suddenly just before my 25th birthday on March 23, 2010 and no holiday, especially Christmas has EVER been the same since. 😔 After her passing it is like each year has gotten less and less traditional. But anyways, the whole of my family for Christmases that I can remember is: my great grandma, my grandma, my grandma's husband, Dennis who was the only "grandfather" i knew. i didn't know her first husband (my mom's dad, nor his family), then my great uncle, Danny (my grandma's brother), my mom, whoever my mom would be dating in that 4 year stint and then me and that was it. Well, Dennis was the first to go, back when i was maybe 10-12 (1995-97) from colon cancer. Then my great grandma went suddenly in 2010 from Congestive Heart Failure. Then my great uncle Danny passed maybe 4 years after that from bladder cancer i believe..my grandma got remarried 8 years ago to a f*cker i CAN'T STAND that i feel like inadvertently KILLED my grandma, who JUST passed away on November 6th from sepsis after dealing with a debilitating lung disease for 3 years that crystallized her lungs that just "magically" came out of nowhere after the 💉but they'll never admit that's what caused it...Oh and did i mention that i decided from a very young age of about 5 that i didn't want kids and it never changed like people said it would until NOW when I'm too old to have one? So yeah, there's that. But so now it's just me, my husband (together 13 years, married for 7) my mom, her boyfriend of 11 years, Johnny and f*ckin BOB, my grandma's widower that NONE OF US like, but due to my mom's stupidity and burying her head in the sand, everyone has to be nice to him because of this "homestead" BS he can claim on the house, even though my grandma drew the will up AFTER they were married just so HE "COULDN'T"(so we/she thought) GET THE FAMILY HOME!!! But regardless, since my mom didn't go get what's called a lady bird deed, like me and my mom's BFF TOLD HER TO DO at LEAST a year before my grandma died (bc she was going downhill for a while), for some stupid legal reason, since the will was drawn up AFTER they were married (which makes no sense, bc it seems it'd be the opposite) her husband can claim "homestead" or some crap and gets to live there for FREE (bc my GRANDMA paid it off to keep it after my great grandma died bc my great uncle Danny wanted to SELL IT, the house HIS DADDY built with his own 2 hands and it's a big NICE home, not no shack and that almost didn't even happen.😒🙄i swear, nobody is as emotionally attached as i am to it. I grew up there. That's where i spent the majority of MY childhood.) until basically either A: HE (Bob) DIES or B: he (Bob) signs it over to my mom, who it is WILLED TO and SHE'S also the executor of the will! Now, that lady bird deed would've completely eliminated this, bc when my grandmother died, the deed would've just been in my mom's name INSTANTLY, but noooo! Her BFF even printed out and brought the paperwork to my mom and she STILL didn't do it, even with my constant reminding!! It wasn't until AFTER my grandma died and she spoke to a probate attorney that he told her that that POS BOB could do this BS, even though his ENTIRE FAMILY are in/near Nebraska, which is where he freakin came from and the ENTIRE TIME my grandma was sick he'd always say "yeah, if something ever happens to grandma before me, I'll be headed back to Nebraska, there won't be anything down here for me" and i knew that was a load of shi*, just like he himself! He's part of the vfw here, the shriners and freemasons (luciferian scumbags and yes, i know the lower ranking members don't know who they're really serving and would never believe it if an "outsider" told them, but HE'S NOT a low level at all and i can tell just by the things He does/says/way he reacts to things Christian (like a card with scripture in it vs some stupid birthday card, even though he claims he is one... it's truly disgusting and disturbing and ugh now I've gotten off on a whole BOB tangent. 🙄 I know Jesus tells us to love our enemies, but that's something i really struggle with when it comes to that POS. (Lord, forgive me 🙏) anyways so yeah, thought we'd be done with his disgusting self when my grandma passed (heck, my grandma herself told him to pack his crap and go back to Nebraska and that she'd hire someone to take care of her at LEAST 3 times in front of me, just bc he was such a dick to her, as her caretaker, for things she couldn't even help especially closer towards the end, like the last year) and my mom was all "as soon as mom dies Bob can pack his shit and go back to Nebraska where he came from!" and NOW we STILL gotta kiss his f*ckin as* (i don't really) and i guess HOPE that he'll sign the house over to mom before he dies? Which i mean, wouldn't he have just done that, if that's what he was gonna do? Like regardless, if he claims homestead, we gotta wait til either he dies and then it goes to my mom, or i guess him to decide to sign it over to move back home one day, but the way he was talking to one of his little buddies on the phone the other day😒umm it certainly didn't sound like he had any plans of THAT any time SOON!!😡😡😡 and it's just got me so mad and disgusted with EVERYONE, my mom for not listening and taking the time to get the damn lady bird deed, friggin BOB for being f*ckin BOB and being the conniving, LYING POS that me, my husband and Johnny (mom's bf of 11 years) ALWAYS knew he was from DAY ONE! He might have everyone else snowed (minus my mom, NOW!) with his Midwestern/retired army colonel/shriner/vfw/freemason/Vietnam vet BS, but he NEVER fooled me and when sh*t hit the fan and he and my grandma couldn't keep the roads and the vfw hot anymore and she couldn't go and do things anymore and he had to be her caregiver (with mine and mom's help) and "only" got 2 days a week for "his time" 🙄 which would sometimes be more like 3-4 days a week and a few times he left to go to Nebraska for a month, so then my mom and Johnny had to come stay with her and meanwhile mom and i are also trying to run a property management company, just she and I and he'd take off for 2-4 weeks to Nebraska right at the beginning of the month, when we are MOST BUSY and he KNEW THIS!! Ugh see? I'm just b*tching about Bob again. 😮💨 I'm really sorry. This comment has gotten ridiculously long and is all OVER the place, i know... I'm sorry for unloading all that, but I've spent too long typing it out on my PHONE that i can't delete it now. 🤦♀️ TLDR: I understand your pain. My Christmases are no longer like they used to be since my great grandma, who was my everything died and it's gotten even worse since my grandma added BOB, whom i have always hated with a fiery passion, to the family 8 years ago and has since passed away, herself, just last month. When I was a child, I was poor. Not only was my Mom a single parent but she was dying. At Christmas she would forget she was dying. She loved the lights, the carols. She loved presents. She was caught red handed tearing off the corner of her present from me. My Sister and I would often share a gift. We didn't mind. Every year we each got a new ornament to hang on the tree. She made Christmas magical. I wish everyone could see Christmas the way she did. It was simple. It was perfect.

I love how this song works for people who are lonely as well as those who get to spend Christmas with family. I feel like "have yourself a merry little Christmas" is the perfect sentiment for those who might not be able to spend Christmas with friends or family but still wish to have a good time during a special time of the year.
