Let me start off by saying there is nothing wrong with this song. In fact it's extremely good and the girls are just killing it. That said, I think K-pop has been chasing this sound hard the last few months. I know K-pop likes to go through trends, but there seems to be a lot of low-fi/city pop inspired music of late, and I can't point my finger as to why or who started it. For VIVIZ sake, I hope people aren't tired of it yet and are willing to give this song their all, but yeah.... I'm already seeing similarities to other songs recently released.
I think it was IVE? Either way, I think Maniac is different and dynamic enough for it to have plenty of love and support if only people were willing to give it a chance 😔
