The first one reminded me of when I was at show, a horse got spooked in the area and took off towards the entrance gate. It was open to let the next rider in but the person manning it panicked and swung it shut, the horse tried to jumped it while it was moving but ended up having a rotational fall onto concrete as the horse caught a knee 😫 It was terrifying! I will never know how they both managed to walk away with just cuts and bruises.

Ahh. The "tortured" experiences of horse AND rider: the eternal process of learning : ) BTDT. And will continue to do so as long as I ride.

Not good, comfortable or intended, definitely! but not deliberate abuse (kid just hanging on for dear life, however ungracefully). When a new rider gets run away with, it is frightening and the most the rider can think of at that moment is "NOW what!" while hanging on with everything they have. The process of learning to ride is rarely soft or easy for either party. This is just a scared kid (that doesn't have the power to do any real damage other than piss off the pony) trying to learn and a pony that's just done with the moment. Most of us riders have started out in very similar ways, with very similar experiences, especially with ponies : )
It might be useful to try to remember or recognise that most of these clips on RUclips are of people trying to LEARN. It's NOT easy, and even for those with inherent talent or have even accomplished the highest levels, it is a never-ending process. We DO try to continue to improve, try to learn how to deal with these situations better by learning how to diffuse them before it happens or, better yet, not inspire them at all..... tho there is no such thing as perfection out there any where. Perfect moments, yes, perfect ride/horse/rider.... not yet. Aside from this young student, take a look at all levels of competition in any discipline and you will see errours, falls, quits and chips at ALL levels. Of course there is abuse, and some truly ugly stuff! and at all levels, but this new one is not it : )

@@justice9094 it’s at the start before she is unbalanced after fall! :)

@@zoedouglas9364 Not seeing the fall, not sure what you are referring to tho I DO see her balancing from her hands before the fence and being popped out of the tack after, a very common issue for someone at this point in their learning and definitely not best for either party (assuming we are discussing the same video: the kid on the bay pony with the red bridle that runs off with her into the barn @0:49...?). Perhaps a stubborn pony? Casual or young/new instructour? Premature choice of activity level? First fence? Any number of things could have taken place before the vid started. No way to assume exactly where the rider is in her lessons and skill. Still can't say it's abusive yet. I only see a learning situation (but not much footage to judge by) and some of THOSE can be truly frightening, thus unorganized hands, flailing feet, immediate change in plan of action shifting to survival, deviant response from animal.. There IS plenty of abuse out there (you are not wrong about THAT, for sure!) that is far more damaging than a nervous/hopeful kid on a btdt pony.
At this point and so often in my travels, I wish to acknowledge The School Horse/Pony. It's not a bad life but it IS a hard one. They DO take an inevitable amount of mishandling and mismanagement from new riders so that we clumsy and inept humans can learn a skill. Thanks to ALL those horses and ponies that I rode so ungracefully, so long ago, so that I can accomplish the things that I have thru-out my equestrian life : )
