Anthony Pierron's run was the single best thing I have ever watched related to DH. Completely courageous but with so much talent and perfectly executed. I think I will watch this before every ride I go on..

I was there at the bottom when that happened, what you don't see, is after the video ends, thousands of people were storming into almost mosh pitting Pierron in the middle, so many people with chainless chainsaws, and trumpets as well!!! absolutely insane vibes at the mountain that day, and the franchise were hyped about the french heroes on the podium as well

The men’s win was 30 seconds faster than the women’s… 30 bloody seconds… that is madness!!! At my best (20 years ago) I would still have been a full 60 seconds slower than Hanna’s time. Most likely more… super impressive riding skill.
I feel like I'm being stupid here, but for anyone else that watched the live event, did you notice how on some runs it cut from around 3:38 as they go over the rise, straight into the woods and on other runs they have the extra in-between section? You can see it in this video the difference in the two runs. Again sorry if I'm missing something obvious
Vali' Höll is easily the heir apparent to Rachel Atherton. I love Tracey Hannah, but if the top 3 riders weren't injured, she'd still be finishing in 3rd or beyond. By Vali' Höll racing in the Juniors beating the Elites by 1.2 seconds, she totally delegitimized the current field of Elite women riders.

There is a much broader pool of men (vs women) who enjoy throwing themselves down the side of a big hill. Something like 100x more competition.
