Great review! :) Just wish the head was removable, so you could swap heads with any other heads. Also the sheath is still not fitting the sword all the way in correctly, yet the sword looks bigger than the Mattel Sword.

Also we need a better more accurate Sword Holster. Filmation Holster the sword goes down lower.
Wish you would have shown the complete unboxing showing the mailer, bubble wrap etc to show everyone exactly how it came

Totally agree with the plastic problem - not only is it really shinny (and more brittle? I don’t know, it somehow feels more brittle), the fact that they’re not painting the faces, is making the details feel sparse and in some cases muddled. The sorceress was the most disappointing for me, it just doesn’t look as detailed and nuanced as the previous female figures from Mattel. I’m very worried for the new She-ra, a face sculpt which in my opinion looks so much better than the original, is going to fall short with a shinny face, and minimal paint apps. Also the shorter female size is really worrying too, but I’ll stick to the plastic for now.
If they used a good plastic for Teela and Sorceress the figures could have been better finished .
Great wrapping paper on that piece. I wish they would sell that paper as it’s own product. Fast shipping on that for sure. I still haven’t even got my Vintage Wave One 5.5” figures yet. Glad you were able to snag this figure, and awesome T-shirt!

Thanks for the honest review. S7 once again proves how cheap they are. The shinny plastic really looks bad and cheap. I never thought I'd say this about anybody but S7 makes Mattel even look good.

I’m definitely in the minority here and this is just how I feel growing up watching motu in the 80’s. I feel that the Mattel filmation iteration is great but the face looks like it has makeup and the skin tone doesn’t match the body. The colors on the Mattel version are also too bright not just on the head but on the body, and on his armor. I don’t need he-mans sheath to move either.
As for super7, I like the face a lot. I think the issue here is that it has more expression lines in the face due to he-man smiling so that may be adding more to “sunken look.” I also prefer the more dulled down colors of the super7 filmation he-man. The dullness reflects more of the dull look the 80’s cartoons had.
Another huge aesthetic people here are missing is that the Mattel version is missing the vertical line in he man’s chin where super7 has it.
Also, when motu was out in the 80’s, the cartoon didn’t have many shadow overlays on the characters so we really don’t know what an accurate filmation he man looks like with shadow overlays from the 80’s era. With that being said, I’m definitely liking the super7 iteration more.
Super7 did EVERYTHING wrong with this figure BUT the wrapping paper. Definitely will be leaving him in package. They said this guy would be an exclusive, with a limit of 2 per customer. I tried to get him on the first sale day, only to miss him an hour and a half into the sale. (I should've been quicker...my bad). Then they announced it would go up for sale again due to bots and scalpers negatively effecting their inventory. I was on the site and purchased 2 as soon as the sale started on day 2. My order was processed and I received confirmation, only to get an email 5 hours later stating my order was cancelled, followed an hour later by another email saying that my order went through when it should've not due to supply and demand issues from the SAME problems they were facing on day 1 of the sale. Bought one at the cheapest scalper price I could find on Ebay (80.00 with free shipping) only to see a week later that BBTS was taking preorders for 59.99 and other stores were selling it for 99.00. Now having said all that, when they showed the reveal of Ultimate Filmation He-Man, you can see in the photo that the head sculpt is different than the Mattel version. So I assumed, after seeing what this was that it would be no more than that new He-Man figure with a modified head sculpt for the hat. So I'm at least getting what I figured. But this could have at least been something that was actually more featured in the cartoon.This was just lazy at best. Hunter Knight Customs did an amazing custom for a Christmas He-Man AND She-Ra. Again, other than the wrapping paper/packaging, this was just a fail. I only got it because I thought it would be a nice exclusive variant, but overall it is definitely not worth the hype, the hassle, nor the headache Super 7 caused so many with this. From sale to production, just disappointing.

Can the Holiday He-man's head come on? Mine feels like it's about to break and I'm afraid to remove it.
With enough heat, sure, but it's not intended to.
I was fearing this since the Filmation Ultimate reveals. Back then, my gut was telling me that Skeletor should be fine but my worries would be He-Man & She-Ra. Having seen the quality of the prior Filmation products I was speculating He-Man's skin tone being the problem & the dull colors presented here shows just that. His hair is also very faded by comparison. The face is making a different expression with the white smile & the Ultimate does have the closed mouth like the Mattel. But I did notice that the nose is narrower & cheeks don't seem that pronounced. The same might apply to the jawline. I'm getting the feeling that particular Super7 factory can't make human characters without some sort of defect or appear satisfactory with its choices of plastic. Wouldn't a simple reusage of the Tri-Klops body worked better to match the He-Man flesh of Mattel's? Sure the ankles are corrected but the rest just didn't feel that this is the He-Man I wanted. Now the question is "Am I gonna have to spend $200+ for the Mattel version, especially when its price may go even higher now that there's an inferior version?" And even if I theoretically do get one in hand I'm going to ask myself other questions. "Was he worth the cash , time & struggle? Will the good feeling of having him last or will the magic of getting this Mattel He-Man figure fade away with time?" To those who already have him they don't need to ponder such thoughts but to everyone else who doesn't have Mattel He-Man, these ideas will be lingering in the back of their heads.
I hope the faker head would have some paint as well and yes my worry also for she-ra being so glossy as teela. Nearing 2019 already please Super7 have this sorted out.
I am VERY worried about She-Ra - the new head sculpt is miles better in my opinion, but I already worry that transparent head plastic and minimal/dull face apps they used with the new Sorceress is going to repeat here, and I’m already worried about the smaller size for the new female figures. All in all we’re paying more than ever for MOTU Figures and they’re just not up to par.
How many Super7 Filmation figures do you have?
@@MutatedGuy I only have one being Hordak but I did order the Filmation He-Man, Skeletor & She-Ra. The Hordak like many others had sloppy paint, briefs were titled to the left side & his arms wouldn't come out the normal way. He stands very well opposed to most Hordaks whose left leg sticks out. I've seen plenty of videos of figures of similar quality or worse such as Tri-Klops visor & the broken legs of the 5.5. At least Man-E-Faces was able to rotate but the paints for most of the filmation tend to have too much or chip off easily as seen with Merman's hands & joints or when installing Hordak's cannon arm. While most characters look vibrant there's others who oddly needed more paint on their faces as The Sorceress & Man-E-Faces human face. There's just been so many flaws to this toy line that really discourages others to join in or continue collecting.
THE AnimeHERO So you own one figure and fill the need for such a long winded comment about a hand full of issues that you’ve only heard about. I believe people like you is the problem by discouraging others to join in or continue collecting.
The problem is with the plastic . Super7 is using low quality plastic glossy. If they be honest they could go and try to use something at least near as MATTEL's quality plastic to please fans. I have the MATTEL He-man and Skeletor and I wondered these new ones but I feel it won't have the same quality.
Look at the figure straight on it kind of looks like Jack Nicholson.
So, is the head removable?
Super 7 loincloth is more accurate, if it weren't because of the plastic, Super7 would be perfect, paint apps in of the eyes and eyebrows looks better

As someone who never got the original Filmation He-Man from Mattel and doesn't feel like spending $150+ to buy one, I'll gladly take this and the upcoming Ultimate version. The face sculpt doesn't seem very off, just a bit and again, considering I can snag an entire wave of figures for the same cost as the original, I'm ok with that.

I’m definitely glad I passed on trying to get him. Do not care at all for the tiny speedo loincloth trunks. I’ll be holding on to my Mattel Filmation Heman for sure until I can compare the Ultimate one, but don’t have high hopes🤨 Wish he would have came with little snowman Orko. Man, they really are squeezing this license for all its worth huh? Whats next , after holiday he man , quirky giggling prince adam , maybe a skeletor in easter rabbit costume ? Now , if the Quality was great , that would be at least that. But about 20 figures in , Super7 STILL doesnt get things right. If it aint the paint sploshes , its some problem with the plastic , or stuck joints or whatever. I'm sticking to solely the MATTEL line. MOTU belongs with MATTEL in the first place , and at least the original MOTU Classics line had the Quality . They are expencive now , but hey , thats part of the Collectable market game i guess. At least you know beforehand that its money well spent on quality products.

The Secret of the Sword is watched on Christmas Day...every year..since I don't know when!!! Lol...I want this figure but..Agh!!! Lol...Ive got a decision to make...I'm watching the reveiw again...
I don't know why Super 7 is still struggling with such issues that can be easily corrected. I want to believe that they are trying to put out quality MOTU products, but at the same time, they keep making stupid little errors that even they could've prevented.
how can STUPER7 have the same figure ready shipped and delivered in december but cant have the other same figure until april of next year then again it is STUPER7
