I really like Tekken 4's character select theme because that game is more dark, grounded and gritty, the music when you're selecting your character feels more like they're saying, "No bullshit, no gimmicks, just you, me and our fists." Such an underrated and misunderstood game. Love it.
One thing I don't understand: The song is called "I'm gonna take you for a ride", like it's a racing game instead of a fighting game, shouldn't the song be called something like "You are cruisin for a bruisin"?
Tekken 4 was the only one I bought hadn't played any previously and I couldn't get into it I bought it the day it came out and never played it after 1 month and went back to marvel vs capcom 2 on ps2 what a time to be alive
I may need time to think about my fav character selects, but here's my Top 5 anyway: 1. Rival School Project Justice's 2. P4A's 3. Guilty Gear Xrd's 4. SF 3rd Strike's 5.Super SF4's
I'm so sick of these games starting to not go to character select screens for online matches, it's always this register character BS that Street Fighter 6 does and that game has a dope character select screen.
I agree, but they have to have you lock in your pick for optimal matchmaking. SF 6 should have an online mode where you use character select on each match and have it separate from the main ranked we have now. That would just make an already awesome game even better, SF6 is incredible.
@@actuallynotsteve For ranked thata cool, but casual and Battle Hub I'd like to go to character select and decided on who I want to try from there. Like in King of Fighters XV to change your characters in a lobby you just have to select Character Select after the match in SF6 you have to leave the game, get up off the Arcade cabinet in Battle Hub and register another character it makes no sense.
Fighting game character select screen music is not underrated. It's the first thing you see every time you pop a quarter into an arcade cabinet. It's an obligatory screen you are going to see each time you play a fighting game so there's no missing it. It's either good or it isn't. If its good then people will always remember it and most likely associate the game with it more than any other song because of the reason stated above. EX: MVC2's CS theme is literally just a 5 second loop over and over, yet people call it iconic. So people definitely appreciate them, whether they be long and heavily composed (GBVSR) or short. (MVC2) Imo

The MVC2 select screen music will never be topped in terms of legendary status and pure earworm potential packed into an 8 second loop.

@@KenMasters.It even sounds like the kind of song that would be used for a racing game.
Can of worms
Have you heard the news?!!
Nah, it's all bad. I replaced mvc2 music ASAP in the dreamcast version.
"Who's afraid of" from Tekken 5 is my fave

This was a great video on how Emersion It’s important! I hope Capcom updates the jukebox to have its older character select music
Not mentioning Undernight In-Birth is a crime considering it has literally the best character select theme in fighting game history.

Stays for the Tekken Game lore
KOF 2003 Select screen OST is boss.
I’m not the biggest fan of dnf duel but that select theme goes so hard
Nice pov men
Call me an edgelord but killer instinct 2013 has the best select screen.
🔥
🎉
Sf 6 ost makes me want to play the game muted.
People said the same for MvC2 and Tk4, and, well...
