Love watching old reviews of these, got myself one when they first come out and now got 4 in total…absolutely outstanding rigs for the money. The foam block that’s stuck to your body, mine came with that in the battery tray as a spacer, the radio take a 2s lipo through its inbuilt JST connector…can also change the way the radio works to control a winch through the stock transmitter by pressing a few buttons. Great vid, thumbs up from me 🤙🏼
Yup, both the Sherpa and the Khamba blow the TRX-4 out of the water in terms of price/quality ratio, electronics (specially the SERVOS), materials, included details such fully controllable light system from the radio, the radio itself wich indicates you what do you have turned on or off via independent leds, body details, body-securing system, smoothness, baterry tray position and weight balance. I've got two TRX-4 trucks, the Defender and the new Bronco, 4 different RC4WD models, a Cross 8x8 military truck, the Sherpa and the Khamba. We can say that the ones i use the most, apart from the gelande autobiography, are both Absimas. They surprised me a lot.
Well, not necessarily - I have two TRX4s that have covered just on 200 miles over Dartmoor terrain, with no problems whatsoever. The first outing with the Absima Sherpa Pro version, saw the gear change servo burnout, the steering servo with an intermittent response, and a huge amount of servo play. And this was on a very easy "break-in" trail , but it turned out to be a breakdown trail. Totally unimpressed with quality. Absima, it would seem, have a long way to go to match Traxxas, or even Axial. Yes, it looks good, and may perform well eventually, but................
@@sailingachilles7810 Sorry cannot help, as I rely on a genius shop in Plymouth! Further driving of the Pro Sherpa reveals a superb chassis, and mile-consuming pace. Impressed indeed, but its noisy. TRX4 Defender is still a fantastic all-rounder, but Traxxas need to improve their presentation of it.
Never heard of this truck. I do own a TRX4 and it's one of my best trucks. Owned it now for a couple years with zero issues. Everything else I own has taken parts. So this interests me. I'd love to find something else as good as my TRX4.
Bought one of these recently myself in the olive green. Gutted it didn't have the clear windows like yours. Love the orange version, the color really pops. Haven't used mine yet. Glad I watched youe video so I now know what it can do. I will be following your progress with this bad boy. Great video fella.
