I was driving a Golf a few years ago and we were near Limerick when one of the injectors went. Insurance had us in an hire car within 45 minutes, a VW UP. We drove back to Kildare in the early hours in the UP and were absolutely charmed by it. We had no sense that we were in a small car, or a slow car. We thought it was truly lovely.
When the "civilized world" wants the best salary and the corporations are getting greedy, "the results" are coming...you have to ask yourself why the asian workers are paid with 100-200 $ per month...just you to buy and have a nice and comod life! 🤕
People aren’t buying these cars...they are renting or leasing for much less than their sticker price would cost if no balloon payment at the end of the term. Hence they appear affordable, yet they’ll never own it

just bought this car used with very low km. If you use it for what it was ment for (urban driving with max 2 passengers or a young family) this thing is brilliant. I drive one-way 30 km to work a day, so i will only have to over-night charge 2-3 times a week. i would have happily paid extra for ACC if that was an option. And even though its clearly a city car, it handles quite well on the autobahn.
@David Quinn We too have a Mii electric which we bought brand new in September 2021 with just 8 miles on the clock, we paid £16,952. After taking delivery of a Citroën Ami in November 2022 we decided to let the Mii go, a big mistake! Sold it through carwow with just 3,500 miles on the clock to a dealer in York and received £17,600. Five months later and they still had it unsold with the price now down to £14,990 so we bought it back, mistake rectified and it will never be sold again. The Citroën Ami drew the short straw and has now gone to a new home.😊

The e-Up! is way too expensive. Makes a second hand LEAF look good value. I hope that all goes well with your treatment, wishing you a speedy recovery.😁🙏👩⚕
Wer viel Autobahn fährt sollte eher zum eco up greifen. Tolles Auto mit ausreichender Ausstattung. Eine lenkradheizung wäre noch super gewesen!
I tested the Seat Mii ev just before covid. I was blown away by the space and such fun to drive. The price at the time was around £20k. Great video as usual, many thanks.🎉
The prices of all cars have gone crazy. I’ve decided to keep my 12 year old car with 330,000 kms on it until it finally dies as I’m not getting myself into debt for a “new” car that won’t do anything different to the one I currently have. As I maintain my own car, I know it’s in good condition and passes the NCT first time every year. The price of that car, which is half the size of my current car is outrageous.
Best of luck with your treatment/s Bob, give that cancer the rear wheel. Thank you so much for the lovely review, I had been waiting for that to come out for a while after watching my all time favourite car review bar none of the up, created by you a decade ago or so. Much inspired by that review I bought an e-up! in 2021, it was a campaign model fully equipped, priced at 179.000NOK ~ 15.700€. I just love the car for what it is as much as what it is not. It's not a big overpowered overpriced electric SUV, but an unassuming small car that gets the job done while putting a smile on my face. Once a year I take the car for a spin down to Denmark and the range is just amazing, 300km when pacing behind a trailer and around 220 when not. I run it in eco+ mode at max speed which is then 95km/h on the speedometer. On loger trips my only gripe is the lack of an adaptive cruise control which would truly make these trips relaxing. We travel at 500km legs at a time, leaving with a full battery I spend down to 1.5hours plugged in at the charging stations and then arrive with an empty battery before the night. My wife and kid however are somewhat slower than that, so the car will be waiting for them haha. Anyways, all the best mate, will be looking forward to seeing more from you in the future.
Good luck Bob with the health!!!!!❤ gotta say £27k for a little UP just shows how crazy bloody crazy the world has become & never in a million years will i conform to this ludicrously over priced world of electric vehicles...petrol/ diesel until i can't drive any longer 🎉

Good little car with nice features but not sure how many granny's and 18 year olds will drop the best part of 30k ( loan interest) on a tiny city car when you could buy literally anything else new or second hand for same or less money. It's bonkers.

Feel like I am dropping to the floor in a saloon especially BMW. I get the greens hating on SUV's Have a niro and Venga at home so not exactly the big tanks either.
No hate from me. I had a petrol Up! and a Citigo, fantastic cars. The electric versions of these should still be on sale, but VW were not making a profit.
As a citigo owner who likes the small run around and looking for a EV replacement. An E up would be my first choice if it was not for the price and very very low driving range. So, currently running the 70k mileage citigo that we bought new worth about £3k. So come on car makers. Where is that ev for people like me.
If VW could sort out their software issues (which they have had and knew about for 4+ years) then the E-UP would be a brilliant city car. I have seen leasing deals for them at £165/mth..... But the Dacia electric is cheaper, with software that works.
@justinholding02 No issues beyond.... It won't connect to phones, and it occasionally freezes! Beyond that, it's perfection! Hopefully the new small affordable VW will come out soon as the software issues are getting resolved and any 2024 VW should be good.

TBH it's the kind of car manufacturers should be producing as mass-market cheap options. Instead, they are intent on driving the market to larger vehicles.
Feel like you've let a bit of the ambassador role creep into this review. Why would you buy this over a second hand Up? And with VW now admitting and cutting back on production of their Electric models because the market is dying out and the petrol models are now more sought after as new buys, why would you spend 30k on the an electric UP? You've fallen down the electric rabbit hole Bob. Hope all is well and wish you a speedy recovery
Cars are not the problem. European cars are only 1% of global CO2, replacing them with EV would save the planet 0.5% CO2 in about 5 years once they've done 50k km each.
