Some kids laughed at me because I'm an old man. Little do they know I was a young man when these singers were melting hearts around the world. It was a time when music took your soul on a roller coaster ride. There'll never be times like this again. My time might be about up but I witnessed the greatest music ever. Something you'll never experience.
You are so right, Darrold. Very few of the youth today listen to, hear, or appreciate what we grew up on. I might be younger than you, but I grew up on 40's, 50's, and 60's music. That 30 years leaves the rest in the dirt.
whatever you said is true. No music these days can compare with what it was back then. I am with you. When our time is up, we can be in heaven listening to Elvis, Glen, Johnny Cash, Roy Clark, John Denver, Jim Croce, Frank Sinatra.......and many more. I am looking forward to that day. Haha
Glen was great and very talented, but no one could beat Elvis. He had a strong voice, very melodic, and he had talent out the wazoo! That harmonica player is one of the best I've ever heard - WOW!
@@3rdgentexan301He played the guitar, the piano, and even the bass on at least one of his records. It's bizarre, if not downright stupid when people question whether Elvis could play an instrument, when there is extremely famous footage of him accompanying himself on the piano for Unchained Melody. Obviously Glen Campbell was a far better guitarist than Elvis, but then he was better than most guitarists in general.
All that I know is that WE NEED more singers like these two. I would trade all the MTV wanna be Artiste's , to have these guys back in their prime. Please give a thumbs up , if you agree...
I totally agree. Too much plastic surgery makes a woman look like a chariciture of themselves. fish lips, eyebrows that arch to heaven, face lifts that are so tight, that the womens ears meet in the back of their heads. Implants that look like an invasion from planet BOOBS!. Now butt implants that look totally ridiculous even if your a guy. too damn much enchancing.
Glen had a great tenor voice and put a lot of feeling into his songs, but Elvis sang from the bottom of his soul and no one in the last 35 years has moved me like he did,. I wish we had been able to keep the King longer, but it was his time to go. His music lives on.
No matter what the song Elvis always did it beautifully and made it his own.No one can ever match that magnificent voice. Loved him then, love him still always and forever.
When you start to forget just how phenomenal Elvis was, all you have to do is watch any of his live recordings. The ease with which he power-balladed is truly amazing.
I certainly would not go that far, Johnny Cash was not in the same league with Glen Campbell when it came to singing but he made alot of very cool music.
This comparison again proves no one can comes within a light year of Elvis. He's the Gold standard. There is no one better. Simply the greatest singer who ever lived.
Would give anything to have a time machine. Elvis was past his prime when I was a kid, then he died. But since I am such an American history buff I explored. I saw the 50's and the '68 comeback concert, ok now I get it..(so did the rest of the country and the world.). American Icon..
What can anyone say about the greatest singer of all times that has not been said. Long live THE KING "ELVIS PRESLEY" forever. GOD thank you for giving me the will to live. Amen.
ELVIS WAS THE BEST AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER TO EVER LIVE!!!! GOD GAVE US THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER IN THE WHOLE WORLD AND THAT WAS THE KING!!! I will always miss Elvis. And prayers for Lisa Marie Presley.
CashPresley32 It's fine if you want to believe Johnny Cash is the best ever, but if one takes an average of all of the polls, it is clearly Presley and it's not even close. I really love Cash, in fact, but he isn't even considered close to the best of singers, overall. Moreover, as June - his own wife has said - Johnny was quite jealous of Elvis which is not hard to understand why.
CashPresley32 Oh, Elvis enjoyed Johnny, and in fact, introduced him to June. Totally true. And, as I said, I very much enjoy Johnny. On the other hand, no, he was not even close to having Presley's overall range as a singer. There is no disrespect intended, but it is simply a fact.
Never really liked Elvis until years later I heard Are you lonesome tonight. Then this song hit the mark....greatest singer that ever lived. I hope he's in heaven, God needs people like him, sings like an angel.
Oh, YES WE DID like him, LOVED him, APPRECIATED him, from his first record release. You should have been in the "Dime Stores" say, by 1958 when we could go to the back of store and play new 45s on turn tables, to hear how they sounded, see if we wanted to buy them. Elvis sold, sold, SOLD!! And before that, our DJ got the new "All Shook Up" disc and told his listening audience that if we kept calling in, he'd keep playing the record until he left the studio for the evening. We did and he DID!! WOW, what a night!!!
Glen Campbell used to do the demo tapes at the rca studios for Elvis to listen to and decide what he was going to record, before Glen became a star in his own right... Elvis's voice is so rich and beautiful just pure magic
I know Hank is a legend and I respect that but, Elvis owned anyone else's song he sang. Just the best, most unique voice God ever graced the world with.
There was and is no one like him. Saw him live twice. If you think he’s good here, you can’t believe how much better he was in person. I do love Glenn too. He was a great musician. Hey, heads up to that great harmonica player too! He was really good.
Well, I can tell you I sure wish I could go back in time to see him again. Almost his birthday, Jan 8th. RIP and Happy Birthday Elvis, we sure do miss you.
Not a bad job putting this together ... One of the best guitarist in country music and the best voice I have ever heard put together for our entertainment ....

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL♥️ I'd liked to have less harmonica (although lovely), and just alittle more of Glen singing... I believe he was holding back, giving Elvis all the lead and opportunity. As his voice is richly expressive and so powerful), ... And, more of both of them harmonizing. Two Brilliant talents with incomparable voices!♥️
wow that made me cry I love these two so much and was and still is an Elvis fan. Now they can both play for everyone up in the "Big Blue Heavens" so all can enjoy. So many good singers up there I'm sure they will all be jamming together and having one Hell of a party!!!! RIP Glen your going to be missed so badly. Love you both!!!!!!
A truly favorite song I first heard on the radio in the late 40's being sung by Hank Williams. Elvis and Glenn and their harmonica backup does a beautiful job.

Glen was one of the best musicians that ever lived... they’re both missed so much... they gave SO much to us.
We really lost a treasure when Elvis died. His voice is incredible and he sings like he means it!
That Harmonica just gives me chills. What a great rendition of this song. I was a huge Elvis fan.
Yeah, this song should always have a harmonica part. It's the heart of the song.
I was a huge Elvis fan too. I'm still huge.
I wonder who this great harmonica player is!
all the ladies love Elvis. he has the most incredible voice. there is a reason he was called The King.

The King....Elvis Presley. A Legend in his own time. Greatest entertainer that ever lived. Not forgotten, Never equaled.

Omg, they sing with such passion and love. You can see the expression from Elvis. Such great feeling and love from him
I feel like I can sense Elvis' depression and his exhaustion just from watching this video. I feel it straight to the bone.
I am now 75.9 years of age, and this was when music had melody, harmony and HEART! I'll never forget these times!
There are still a few traditional style artists.
yes indeed!
72 here and I agree. My husband and I married at the height of Glen Campbell's career and loved Elvis. Still makes me cry.
AMEN!
I am 57 and love this music also.
Both Gone... hear the lonesome in each voice... Especially Elvis.

It’s sad they never did a duet live duet while Elvis was alive. They were good friends and respected each other’s music.
Always glad to hear that the "public" understands what a phenomenal guitarist Glen Campbell was!
And that he was. One of THE TOP GUITARISTS of all times!!!
Glen Campbell was an awesome musician with incredible talent ! Not an Elvis fan sorry!
I am so thankful for having lived when Elvis and Glen were at there best RIP you guys!!!

I was on the tambourine behind the curtain. I was having a bad hair day
I love to hear both sing, man they were great, but you know how it is Elvis had a voice, and Glen was just so gifted, what a great time in music.
Elvis Could Breathe Life Into A Dead Song!!!! Elvis: The Best Ever, For Ever....!!!!
These guys were so great together. There has never been nor will there ever be a voice like Elvis!
Elvis had the greatest voice of all. And Glen was one of the greatest guitarists
The greatest singer is Johnny Cash and the greatest guitarist is Carl Perkins.
LOL. Johnny couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. No disrespect, he just couldn't.
I certainly would not go that far, Johnny Cash was not in the same league with Glen Campbell when it came to singing but he made alot of very cool music.

Elvis Presley nailed this song. I'm so lonesome I could cry. on that aloha HAWAII special concert a he looked Gorgeous.
No, hank Williams nailed it - everyone else hung off that nail.
