I started riding dirt bikes in 1978. When I went to street in 1985 the interstates speed was 55 mph. The bikes those days was around 160. I drove from Fort Smith Ar. to Dover De. for my first long ride. I got use to the speed when cars wasn't around. When I came up to them I went left or right when I had to slow up. That gave me room to split if I had too. Now this old man is just on a bagger. Knock on wood I have never been in a wreck on the street. Only on my dirt bikes.

Hey that’s good to hear if you haven’t wrecked yet your definitely doing it right. Sadly around tulsa it’s almost always busy being able to get comfortable with the speed before having to deal with traffic would have definitely been preferred and honestly the more people I talk to who started off on a dirt bike and then moved to street I’m beginning to feel that it definitely makes the transition way smoother and thanks for the reply I Always look forward to getting to engage with y’all and hear everyone’s stories and advice stay safe out there and keep her shiny side up.
