Well done. I admire your enthusiasm. I wish there were more of the younger generation taking up an interest in vintage technology.

I'll give you props on any kid your age for trying to explain things in an AA5 radio! 4 out of 5 stars. One messed up thing I
caught was (at 6:16 in ) you said those tubes had multiple plates , instead you should have said multiple grids. Another
important point when it comes to metal dial faces and metal pointers. There should be a thick fiber washer on the shaft
to keep the pointer from making contact with the metal dial face. The tuning capacitor is always at chassis ground and
the B- is floating and the two should never directly meet!

I think he was talking specifically about the 12SQ7 (Dual-Diode Triode) which I am pretty sure does have multiple plates and only one grid.

I have a few of these AA5 sets, a six tube set, and just picked up a seven tube Firestone Air Chief radio that surprisingly still works.

Next task, start reverse engineering how this stuff was designed. I started in my high school years on transistor TRF, regenerative, and 5 transistor superhet radios.
Imagining the operation of pentagrid converters will keep you busy a while.
