3:17 Yes buildings are constructed to withstand big earthquakes in Trinidad. That is something we do very well. Most structures have earthquake reinforcements under ground. I work in the construction industry and we build much stronger than most countries especially the US and England, I have seen firsthand how buildings are constructed all over the world and buildings in Trinidad are among the best structurally. The big earthquake in 2018 produced minimal damage and the country recovered quickly. Countries that had the same magnitude earthquake had major damage all around. In the construction world in Trinidad we don't play with earthquakes we take them very seriously.
@@aneekar3068Trinidad is unique for many reasons a big one is that majority of earthquakes in Trinidad are very deep so it’s never as destructive as you would see in Asia
@@reuel2333you are very naive to think Trinidad can’t be affected by earthquakes . Do a little more research before you think something like this can’t happen
Boy you a liar , Trinidad has A LOT of weak structures , further more if you do construction then you travel the land , there are many many older house . The earthquake that occured a few years ago sent cracks into people house . Newer house may have better structures but there are way to many with older structures that can’t NOT withstand a direct impact of even a 6 magnitude earthquake. Have you ever felt a direct 6/7 impact of an earth quake ? Very doubtful that you have .
My clock is sensitive. Blinks when there is an earthquake. Have to reset it. I was born in Venezuela and experienced an earthquake that devastated that country and there is a vibration that occurs before, days before sometimes weeks before. It’s creepy to say the least. Many days, no wind, birds silent, dogs bark excessively, intense heat , humid. Stillness. This has been happening for months, I know a big one is coming and I call it way before. My husband is creeped out when I call it. The vibration makes people irritated and sometimes protests can happen. Keep an out.

Did feel the one on Friday night. Live in East Trinidad. It was quick. I knew it was earthquake because my roof made a noise which usually happens with past incidents.
Felt none of these (San Fernando environs) But its good to get d info as its not being talked about as it should be here.I've also enjoyed geography in school so I'm in between excited and terrified 😂 it complicated to explain 😅 Keep up the awareness ❤
4.1 on the richter scale is nothing to worry about. when you start talking about 6 and upwards that is the time to worry. remember earthquakes dont kill people its the buildings that people live in that kill them.

The tectonic plates have to move earthquakes are normal....however how the places move is whare the problems lies .....Trinidad gets a lot of quakes yearly because we have a fault line passing through...however we do not feel many of them because our fault line is deep.....

All that does not mean the buildings cannot come down. Watch and see whole cities destroyed...
