Man, I wish I had seen this video earlier ... I made some candle holders for my closest neighbors, for Christmas gifts and I dare say, they are not nearly as beautiful! Elegant and chunky all at once ... I love it!

I love what you're doing. I like working with hardwoods, especially the prettier stuff.
Most of the stuff I do is "Rustic/Very -Rustic" and all my building materials are reclaimed. Most of it soft wood, but I do have oak, poplar, and hickory. At any rate, I usually go to great lengths to try save knots, knot holes, broken, damaged, in someway, especially if it's done in the Reclamation process. People like it.

Hello Brian! I'm glad to know you liked the candlestick. The finish I used was wood sealer. I did not use mineral oil or varnish.
