  • In an unusual move, the leader of Canada's main opposition party was ejected from the House of Commons on Tuesday after he called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "a wacko", the latest clash between two men set to fight an election next year.
The official opposition right-of-center Conservatives are well ahead in the polls and leader Pierre Poilievre regularly attacks the Liberal government for a carbon tax he says is spiking inflation.

Any person who BELIEVES it’s beneficial to supply drugs to addicts to keep them addicted has a few loose screws upstairs. The lights are on but nobody’s home!! I have NEVER heard an addict say they PREFER to remain addicted instead of rehabilitated!!!

It is embarrassing as a Canadian watching this. I am fed up with most politicians right now. Time to start working for the people.

"Wacko" is a no no word. But Trudeau calls his leadership "Shameful, spineless" and that appears to be just ok. Speaker has drank the kool aid 100%. I love my country, but this has gone on long enough.

Justin Trudeau does not have the talent and the elegance and the speaking abilities of his father and I do not agree with many of his policies and although I did vote for his father, I never voted for Justin. He grew up in parliament surrounded by the people and politicians that worked there and knows his way around. He could have definitely made better choices for the people he appointed as ministers to work with him. Trudeau is basically the Prime Minister of Canada by default. If he was not the son of Pierre Elliott Trudeau he would still probably be a doorman at a late night bar. Having said this, he has managed to maintain some stability for the country and Canada is still viewed as one of the better places in the world to live and to raise a family with pretty good opportunities to earn a decent living. The economic issues and problems with inflation and the exploding costs for housing and other commodities is not just a Canadian problem it is an international economic problem and issue.
Poilievre who’s new Canadian nick name is Polyester, has some good ideas and has some talent but does not have the class, the elegance and the diplomacy of past Conservative Party leaders. He appears to have the same flawed thinking and ideas as many Republicans have south of the boarder and like the Republicans down south, Poilievre also likes to put on performances and thinks you can get your way by behaving and acting like a 6 year old to get attention by causing disruption and chaos in government. This type of behavior is appealing to some people on both sides of the Canada and US border.
At the federal level, I don’t think Canada will ever go for the NDP (New Democratic Party) or the The Bloc Québécois (BQ) and I also do not think Canada will ever be ready for a leader that wears a turban. By the way, I do not think there is anything wrong with wearing a turban but for Muslims it is a symbol of religious devotion to Islam and I don’t think government officials and leaders should be promoting any religions. Having said this, I realize that many Christian symbols have been used and displayed in Canadian government building. I would like to see this practice stop.
I think there are much better qualified people in Canada that can lead the Liberals, the Conservatives and the NDP than the leaders we have today. As for The BQ, I do not know how they where ever allowed to be a federal party since they only exist in Quebec.

@@Buckshot99 There is no need to go down this road. Regardless of their nationality, race or religion, stereotyping people is not useful and certainly not helpful. I do not think it is about loving everyone. We don’t even have to like everyone. A good starting point would be to begin with the understanding that the wellbeing and happiness of others benefits everyone and is the basis for morality. If people are struggling to survive, they will not care about anybody else or about the devastation of the planet.
