Very nicely made setup. This is actually my dream setup. Nikkors + aivascope. Currently collecting Nikkors, no budget with the aivascope yet. Tastly made footages! Thank you for sharing. Try checking the tokina 28-70 f2.6-2.8, made in collab with angenieux, parfocal they said in YT.
Really cool vid! Do you remember the lighting setup you used to shoot the woman by the bridge? It looks like there's a main light or bounce coming from the left of the frame at 11:13?
I was waiting for your new videos. I have the Komodo and have been interested in some anamorphic footage. This Aivascope comes up a lot. Thanks for making this video. Would love to know about your color grading process, how you get clients and how you price your work.
Can you test the Aivascope 1.5x with a. Sony 70-200mm f2.8 ii GM taking lens (or Sigma/Canon/etc equivalent)? I know on the website it says the sweet spot is 50-90mm, but I wonder what a long 70-200mm would look like, especially at 135mm and above...
@@adrianrobison tough, front element on Sony lenses are very large. Better to use mechanical lenses/primes. You lose the anamorphic character after 85mm anyway
@@fullbars Ahhh gotcha. So that’s why they have on the website 50-90mm…. It’s not a “if the lens will fit” issue (some long lenses have small fronts) it’s more of a “you will lose the anamorphic look” issue? I see now…. Thank you.
Also! I shoot on the fx3 as well and was considering this adapter. Already have the tilta cage and some canon fD primes from back in the day. Anyway you could provide links to the LWS plate and other rigging gear you used to setup the adapter and camera together? Planning on getting this setup and trying to balance it on my ronin s 2 though I'm not sure how it'll handle.
The lens comes with a rail adapter. The lws plate is the Tilta one that pairs with their cage. one caveat to Tilta’s system is you need to buy their dovetail which is not a standard size. Also look at the Blazar 1.5x adapter. You can get a similar quality at a lower price point.
great video!
Really great video with tons of useful info and so glad I found your channel! Looking forward to seeing yalls growth!
Thanks! 🙏
Great video. Rig looks good. I am considering the SLR 2x for starts for my A7Rii. I have 43 vintage lenses.
good work done!
Would love a tutorial on how to setup that rig. I got a Bmpcc 6k pro and a 18-35mm sigma
It’s pretty easy! Best setup is using AWS standard rail block
@@fullbars aws? So not the rail block that comes in the box of the ronin?
@@MatthewRumble Cant imagine that would work, the rail block needs to position the lens mount at an exact height and center.

Thanks! In the indoor shot it’s a Nanlite Forza 500 bouncing off the ceiling. The bridge shot is all natural light.
@@fullbars Thanks so much! 😊

Thank you sir. Will do! Working on some as we speak.
very useful! what is the widest taking lens for this adapter anyway? 35mm?

Thanks for the review. How long does it take to change one lens to another in this setup?
With rails it’s just 20-30 seconds longer than changing a regular lens.
I love this video and you grabbing the case of nikon ais lenses peaked my interest. Do you have pointers on where to buy?
Mainly eBay.
What did you use to focus while on the gimbal?
Nucleus Nano!
I really enjoyed it! Thank you for the good video. Is the 105mm AIS lens the f1.8 version or the f2.8 version?
Great review Steven! Did you tried the Aivascope with modern lenses such as canon EF ou Sigma Contemporary? Does-it work? Thx
Not yet! I imagine it would be difficult because of the large front element and electronics

what lens support did u use?
any link thanks?
The Aivascope comes with a rod lens support
Not worth 1.5k
How so?
