The Barrios Guitar Quartet of Frankfurt, Germany, is a chamber ensemble bringing a new dimension of musicality and creativity to classical guitar playing. Inspired by the expressive ingenuity of Paraguayan composer Agustin Barrios Mangore, they perform on a variety of instruments from different musical eras-Baroque guitar, Quintbass guitar, modern concert guitar, and percussion. They also transcribe or arrange most of their own music to complement their technical virtuosity and to express great variations of tonal colors.
Their innovative repertoires include selections from early Baroque to modern-offering audiences a dynamic chamber music experience that has set new standards for the genre and earned them critical acclaim:
